Activating 12 Volt Accessory Circuit of 7-Way on 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe

Updated 12/05/2024 | Published 12/04/2024

Question:

I have a 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe. I was told it had the factory tow package when i purchased,. I ordered the wiring harness(C68JR) and sure enough it plugged directly into my Santa Fe. I hooked up the 7 way to my trailer and all the lights worked. I next tried to install my Curt Echo, but no 12V power. I checked many articles and ordered and installed missing fuses only to learn that my fuse box is not wired for 12V to the hitch..just lights. I ordered all my parts from "etrailer" including the receiver hitch. i am well pleased with all. Question is do you sell a kit that I can run 12V to the C68JR harness? Thanks!! Danny

Hey Danny, we can definitely help but we don't have just a kit for what you need. What you'd instead need is to run a 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 through a breaker like the part # 9510 from the positive post of your battery to the 12 volt accessory pin of the 7-way.

Thanks!! So I would just splice the newly ran 10 gauge wire into the power wire of the 7 way of the C68JR? Thanks Again!!

@Danny actually that 7-way kit should have that circuit active. Have you checked the yellow fuse holder?

@JamesonC Yes. Fuse is good. I only have one pin in the under hood fuse box for the 30amp circuit going to the harness for 12 volt power.

@Danny Then you can bypass all of that and run 10 gauge wire from the positive battery pin to the 12 volt accy pin of the 7-way which the Echo uses for power.
