We bought this at the same time as a roof rack for our first family camping trip. These were really easy to install and have held up excellently in the last year.
Landing pads arrived in the promised time frame. Box was in good condition and product worked great
looks good on car. easy install. easy on - off. looks strong. BUT incredibly noisy. I will have to buy the wind gaurd. They might as well include it because its no good without. now i will have to pay for shipping for the gaurd. I will remove it when not in use. Next life I'll try "the other guy"

A rack for Porsches for lessFor those Porsche owners put off by the price of the Porsche Roof Transport System, try Yakima. For significantly less, you get a solid rack which uses your Porsche mounting points and since it is a component system, it fits both Caymans and Carreras.
Just installed to my 08' Subaru Impreza using the factory bolting mounts. Easy setup did in about an hour or so including my Yakima High Roller bike rack. Seems sturdy, hopefully so to carry my heavy downhill mountain bike!
Fit my nissan nv200 no problem. Comes with different size and length bolts to fit multible vehicles. Directions did tell me to use different size bolts thay clearly were the wrong ones but it was easy to figure it out. Also: u need all 3 products to complete ur roof rack system.
My roof rack arrived as promised and in good condition. Your web site was very useful in instructing the installation and how the parts matched with my other accessories. I did have a struggle lining up the screw holes, but with patience I succeeded.
These crossbars were easy to install and adjust. Be sure to get all the pieces you need. There is no mention of the Landing Pads necessary to use these.
Love the Yakima LocknLoad 55x49 Platform.. would have been nicer if it was just a few inches longer. Fits really well on the 2019 Grand Cherokee.. and looks even better but at highway speeds (60mph+) you will hear it up there... I've also noticed .5 mpg less which is no biggie...I didn't think the Landing Pads (18) were very stable but once in place.. its rock solid!
Yakima Roof Rack for BMWI ordered a yakima roof rack for my BMW during the mad rush of Christmas shopping and have received everything need for the assembly in a very short amount of time. Simple installation to vehicle with supplied hardware and tools. Once these bases are installed to the vehicle, it is simple for a single person to install and remove crossbars and towers in just a couple of minutes.

Yakima SkyLine Towers are well-designed and well-executed. They easily fit into the Yakima Landing Pads and form a tight fit when closed. And they also fit nicely into the Yakima JetStream Crossbars when following the Yakima instruction manual and various YouTube videos. I did run into a snag at first where I found the rubber seal on one SkyLine Tower getting caught on the JetStream Crossbar track, but after that I was careful not to let that happen with the other towers.
I find the appearance of the Yakima SkyLine Towers to match their level of quality in materials and design.
Very good product. The Yakama towers and cross bars feel very solid and appears to be high quality. Very easy install. Others have complained about the instructions, but guess I'm a visual person because the pictures all seemed very clear to me and the install was very easy. They do sit higher than I expected. After adding a Rhino Rack cargo basket, we only have about 4-5" clearance below the garage door.
Very nice quality towers. Very heavy duty! They have a cool "snap" on / off mechanism for quick removal and installation.
We purchased the Yakima Skyline Towers roof rack with the Jet Stream crossbars. Took about 2 hours to install on the naked roof of our Flex. I drilled through the roof strip for the mounting bolts and they fit tighter than the factory rails. Very happy with our choice.
I am going to include the Landing Pads, Skyline Towers, LockNLoad adapters, and Pivoting Mounts that are all required for my vehicle in this review of the 84" x 54" LockNLoad Platform. First, I had done months of research trying to figure out what would work and meet my needs for a 2008 GMC Yukon XL. Without the help of etrailer's agent, Ashley, I'd probably still be trying to figure things out! Ashley was patient and thorough, she made sure I had all the parts I needed for a fairly complex (and large!)project. I cannot thank her enough!
On to the assembly and installation: Ashley confirmed that following instructions was key to efficient building - I found that combining online instructions with the included hard copies worked best. As an example, the online fastener images and descriptions are far better than the paper ones. Then, having the paper instructions in hand made "in the moment" progress much faster. All of the Yakima parts fit together perfectly, and by methodically following the instructions (I cannot stress this enough!), including pre assembling Landing Pads, Towers, and Pivoting Mounts, there was no need to backtrack. Once I had a day to devote to the project, everything went very smoothly. Placing the large Platform on the mounts does require two people, but the rest was easy for one fairly handy person to accomplish. Making adjustments to be sure the Platform is centered and square to the roof took some time but it's worth it in the end. Again, thanks to etrailer and particularly Ashley! It was a pleasure doing business with you!
My experience with etrailer has been excellent. There was going to be a potential delay in one of the products, but their customer service promptly informed me, half the price of some of their competitors so can't really complain. In the end they got the part ahead of schedule and was able to ship in a timely manner. I will definitely keep them in mind for future purchases.
At first, a little tricky to install, as the kit comes with hardware for a variety of applications (different length/size bolts, etc). But after a quick look at the directions and identifying which bolt to use for my car, install was a breeze. I love this Yakima setup because I can remove the bars/towers and leave the landing pads with a cap. Makes it great for taking the canoe out on weekend trips, but not taking the fuel-economy hit during the weekday commute to work.

After a year, the landing pads look like new and have worked out spectacularly. Ive tested the pads on/off the car, and they havent affected fuel economy aero drag at all, so I just leave them on. Id highly recommend these, and I appreciate etrailers video tutorial before I purchased the product!
