Can I Size Down From A LockNLoad Platform B To A LockNLoad Platform K

So my car was recommended a platform b. But i think the platform k is more of the ideal size. I have timberline towers. Do you think the sizing of the platform will make a huge difference? Will it mount correctly?

Expert Reply:
You should be able to use the Yakima LockNLoad Platform Roof Tray - Aluminum - 55" Long x 49" Wide, part # Y05044, on your vehicle. If your crossbars are at least 27" apart and less than 33" apart, you should not have any problems mounting the platform to your vehicle. Do keep in mind that you will need an adapter to mount this platform directly to your towers. The LockNLoad SL Adapter for Yakima SkyLine and TimberLine Towers - Qty 4, part # Y05042-2, will attach directly to your Yakima Timberline towers.
