The built-in landing gear gives these steps solid contact with the ground, even on uneven spots. Each leg adjusts independently so the 6-step setup stays level and steady. The large footplates prevent sinking, which makes them feel secure when you climb. The design supports up to 325 lbs and fits entry heights from 46-1/2" to 58", so every step feels solid underfoot.
The scissor design opens and folds smoothly, with stainless steel hinges and bushing bearings for long-lasting, easy movement. Each 8" x 20" aluminum step has a built-in SureGrip tread that keeps footing steady in wet or dusty conditions. The steps don’t flex or wobble, and they hold up well for daily use—whether it’s people, pets, or carrying gear.
Glow tape runs along the sides of each tread, creating a visible path after dark. Five minutes of light exposure gives up to 10 hours of glow, so you can see each step clearly without needing to add extra lights. It’s a simple safety touch that makes climbing in and out at night much easier.
The aircraft-grade aluminum steps and black powder-coated steel bracket resist rust and corrosion. The steps fold up and lock into the bracket for travel, so there’s no need to remove them each time. A retention strap keeps them secure, and the lockable base holds them tight with no rattle on the move.
No assembly is needed—the landing gear comes pre-installed on the bottom step. The 23"-wide mounting bracket bolts on permanently and keeps the steps stowed outside, freeing up interior space. Folded, the step portion measures about 14" tall by 20" wide by 8" deep, so it stays compact when not in use.

These steps are perfect! They are easy to install, and easy to use once they are on the rig. We use our camper in the winter, so they can be a little slippery when wet. To fix that, we bought padded stick on treads, and that did the trick. Don’t hesitate buying them — they are so much better and so much easier to manage than any ladder or step stool solution.
The stairs are great. The adjustable feet keep the stairs level and solid to the ground. Also I ordered an additional bracket to relocate the stairs when towing a trailer..
I have a Lance truck camper in the bed of a Ford superduty 4x4 truck. The door opening to the camper is about 40" above the ground when in the truck. The two step setup that was factory installed on the camper was simply too high above the ground to use. So I installed the Torklift 5 step scissor step system. It is very easy to use, very sturdy, and easily adapts to different ground heights if the camper is parked on a slope. I fabricated a steel bracket that mounts up under the camper to the factory installed mounting studs, then bolted the scissor steps to the new bracket.

Installation was quick and easy.
3 step model is a perfect height while camper is on and off truck.
East peasy install if you can drill a hole, or six. All the hardware is included. I was lucky enough not to need the fish cable.
Four stars because the hitch pins that lock the steps to the bracket need improved (they hold it together when you use the steps..they are not great
Our truck camper came with a single swing down step that has worked well for years but as our doctor says ‘as our body’s continue to age’ we found our knees and balance weren’t what they use to be.
The installation was straight forward. We chose the installation option to close the gap between the mounting bracket and the first step. The only gripe is the wire that snakes the bolt thru the bumper. Come on TorkLift what we pay for these steps I don’t think a $2.00 part is going to hurt the profit margin. Supply one with enough length to do the job.
The steps are great, wish we had purchased them earlier.Easy to fold and extend and look great.

Not perfect but the only solution for what I need. I have an existing Torklift bumper on my slide in truck camper. It came with one flip down step. My truck bed is very high and I need at least 5 steps to get in. It would have been great if Torklift made a set of these stairs specifically for this application where someone has already invested in their bumper. Like everything else Torklift, these are over priced for what they are but are still the best option.
We use the stairs for our dogs to get in and out of the bay. They love it and so do we!

We have one year to use on those stairs using them every day they work very well with no troubles. These stairs were installed in a tiny house for access to a loft bedroom we retract them and extend them every day flawlessly
Well made, steps seem quite sturdy. The thing that frustrated me was the advertised height of 58” causes the steps to angle downward, it is hard to descend the steps. My truck was 56” and the steps are quite awkward. I would say don’t use for anything over 46” in height.

Great product. Should be standard on all trailers. I have multiple trailers and use them from salt winter Vermont roads to hot humid Florida roads. Usually get 6 months out of blade style 7 pin. These are far superior!
I didn't purchase the steps for an RV. I purchased this product specifically because of its durability since it would normally be mounted on the outside of an RV. I live on a canal and the slope to the water is deep. I couldn't afford to build a whole new dock so I got the steps to lay fully opened on the ground down to the water. It's secured with bolts in cement in the ground at the top. The weight is substantial because of its very good quality so it's secure on the slope. The steps have safety tread built in. Eventually I will get a railing, but for now I am completely satisfied with the steps. I can confidently get to the canal and in and out of my kayak.
