Will Torklift GlowStep Revolution Uprising Steps Work for You?
Fold-down steps are typically installed on travel trailers and some RVs. The fold-down steps from Torklift lift up to latch into your camper's doorway for storage. To ensure you choose the correct size for your application, there are a few measurements you will need to take.
The Torklift revolution Uprising Steps install inside your camper's doorframe. Measuring for this may seem tricky, but once you know what to look for, figuring out the right fit for your RV doorway is easy.
First, you will need to measure the doorsill plate, both the height and the clearance between it and the bottom of the door. For the Revolution Uprising steps to fit, the doorsill height should be between 5/8" and 3/4", and the clearance should be at least 3/8".
Next measure between the door frame flanges - the doorway width - to determine the step size that will fit into your camper's doorway. You will need a doorway that is at least 28" wide for these steps to work.
If it turns out you have a narrower doorway, there are smaller step assemblies available that fit 24" wide doorways. A full list of the available steps is below.
The doorway threshold will be used as the "mounting point" to determine how many steps you will need.
How Many Steps Do You Need?
To decide on how many steps you'll need, measure from the mounting point to the ground. This is called the entry height. The entry height should roughly match the height of the steps when they're fully extended, and it will tell you how many steps you need.
The chart below displays entry height measurement ranges in the first column. If you determined you need a mounting bracket that fits a 24" doorway, the step part numbers with that width are in the second column. If you determined you need a bracket that fits a 28" doorway, the step part numbers with that width are in the third column. Choose the doorway width that is closest to your measurements without going over.
This page's step assembly is in bold text.

How Do You Install the Steps?
To install the steps:
-Make sure the brackets are flush against the doorframe and the floor
Very good product and company to do business with.
This was very easy to install. Worked just like I wanted it to.
Easy install. Solved our lack of space issues while stored at home. Quality product. Packaging was horrible
Bought 2 items from you. Both worked well. I would recommend this company to other people
Everything went well and customer service was on point
Surprisingly easy to install with very good instructions.
Love the way they work.
Took me an hour to install the steps on our Winnebago Mini Drop WD1710. They fit with no alterations to the door frame.
They are sturdy and much easier and safer to enter and exit than the original single floating step.
Poorly packaged
Entry bracket was bent
Where steps mount was bent and broke the weld
Had to reweld it
Easy to install. Just make sure if you have any drawers by the doorway, clear the lift brackets. I had to trim my cabinet drawer, which was no big deal.
Steps work great. Entry is a breeze.
I used these steps to replace the solid steps that came with our fifth wheel. The version of solid steps we had did not have a hydraulic lift kit available at the time and it was almost impossible for my wife to lower them. These were easy to install and now everyone can lower or raise them, since they are a lot more manageable. They can be used in tight areas like our storage lot or rest areas. Also I leave them out while hitching up, since they have enough play to raise and lower without binding (Not sure if that is a recommend use). I have had them for a year now with no issues or regrets.
This is my second experience with the glowstep, first on our travel trailer and now on our Alliance 5th wheel. Before I installed the glowstep, we were having trouble with the solid step (installed at the factory) interfering with the door closing. Now, problem solved, door works as it should. Easy to adjust for unlevel terrain also.
We LOVE our TorkLift Revolution steps. Our New Horizons fifth wheel sits pretty high off the ground, and having the Booster Step on the 5-step model has been great. We use that extra step more often than not. The steps are easy to pull out and put back in. And the glow squares are great when we're camping in a "Dark Sky" location. They're unobtrusive, but help us find our way in the dark. We have two of these, one for each entry door on our toyhauler. We've also used them like a ladder when stopping in tight places or on the side of the road where it slopes away too fast to put the stairs out. Very versatile and well-made, we highly recommend. In the photos, the back door has the 24" steps with the extra step not in use, and the front door (side with awnings) has the 28" steps with the extra step extended.
Love the stairs, but the box it came in was done for. Could barely move it, it was falling apart. Maybe time to review your packaging!
These steps have worked out well. We stayed in campsites in all conditions and were always able to get the steps level and stable due to the ease of adjustment. Would definitely buy again Etrailer is always a great place to shop.
The steps were easy to install, after I figured out the the door bracket needed to be pulled apart a-little so the door bracket fit, ( my mistake ), I would have given it a five star but some of the lock washers were missing, a short trip to Home Depot solved the issue, unfortunately I didn't have the washers on hand
Simple to install and love the lower rise height. Did have to do a little dremel work on a slooooopy weld that kept the stairs from deploying. Very pleased, now to see how well they "ride" inside. Great replacement for my Lippert Solid 2 step.
The OEM steps on our trailer developed a crack in the mounting bracket and had to be replaced. These steps are an outstanding because of the accordion design. This allows us to park our trailer in storage and still open the steps to get inside with only a small amount of clearance, between the trailer and the wall. At the bottom the step legs have a lot of adjustability for uneven ground or slope. If I had one critique it would be that sometimes the push buttons on those step legs are a little hard to push, while you are holding the steps up to get them adjusted to match the ground.
This should be the standard steps on all new RV's. This product makes other steps obsolete. Easy to use and adjust to most any RV site situation. I wish I had purchased them earlier.
It's rare when something on the Internet lives up to the hype, but these really do. I have a 5th-wheel that's pretty tall and I need the 5-step model of the GlowSteps.I was initially concerned that they would flex but they really don't; they are remarkably solid! I've had several RV sites that were not very level and these accommodate every site I've been -- that "hidden step" has come in handy a time or two.
The reason I initially bought these is because the 5th-wheel is so close to a fence when parked at home that I was unable to open the "drawbridge" type stairs that came with it -- I literally couldn't get into my new RV until I switched out the stairs! I was able to remove the drawbridge stairs and install these all from outside the camper.
I've found that these are better than a drawbridge type anyway because of how versatile they are with unlevel/uneven ground. These make for a flat, stable and safe stairway everywhere I've gone so far.
A bit expensive, but I'm so glad GlowSteps are available and made in USA. I can actually use these steps in storage unlike the MORryde steps that don't have enough clearance.
These stairs are a great upgrade over the factory floating style stair. The installation was very easy and took less than hour including time to get tools out and put them away. The steps easily fold in and out and have smooth operation.
My trailer was towards the upper end of the 4 step height range, time will tell if they are tall enough or if I should of gone with the 5 step version.
As a note the box used to ship the stairs was not up to the task and arrived heavily damaged. The box had no reinforced corners and the stairs were just wrapped with some paper. Luckily they arrived undamaged.
