I have been into cartopping small boats to surfboards for over 45 years. From the introduction of high load rain gutter racks to today's amazing vehicle specific designs it is amazing to see what great engineering is available to us. Lockrack is the biggest sleeper of the industry. I never knew that this clunky looking product is such a quality of life game changer. How many times have you been dreading the pack up after a session. Wind blowing back you straps that you threw over to the other side. 15 minutes into your drive, the gear shifts and you hear annoying load strap vibration down the road. You stop at the gas station and your load is loose again. Your straps dig into your precious board and leave a mark. I have used these with big loads, long cross country trips, and they do not disappoint. Ever. They are surprisingly not that impactful on gas milage like you might think. Thank you etrailer for also making replacement parts to keep everything in top shape.
Lockrack is the only way to go. It's definitely better than using straps.
Just what I needed - Etrailer and Nichole RULE!!
Excellent replacement for our bent original. Will purchase again if needed.
Quick and easy. Highly recommended

I have to open my back car door and crawl half way across the roof to take the inner arms in and out of the roof rack. I put down carpet pieces over the ridged rubber rack covers so I can slide my kayak up the back of the car and be able to push it in place. Otherwise it takes 2 tall people to load from the side. The best feature is not having to use straps

Sweet! Do you use them for kayaking then? I know some folks pile on whatever they can fit sometimes, too! :)
