I got Lots of boxes with items well packed . Assembly - take your time - manual is good and answers each step well. Parts are high quality and finished build is very satisfying. After I use it for a while I can say more.
I talked to several long term owners and both said No problems and satisfied.

Shocks were exactly as ordered and shopping was very prompt! Customer service is excellent! I had to return 1 box of shocks only because of my mistake in not realizing there were 2 in a box, but etrailer was very gracious in processing the return. I would totally buy from them again!

  • Are the Yakima Heavy Duty Shocks for Rack n Roll Trailers Adjustable
The Yakima Rack n Roll trailer shocks # Y08110 have 4 inches of vertical adjustability. To adjust them you will need to turn the bottom-most orange piece. There are several notches and turning the orange part clockwise makes them longer. I have included a picture pointing out this orange piece for you.

  • Removing Bushing to Install Heavy Duty Shocks for Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer
I checked with Yakima and they told me to have to have you clean and lubricate the bushing and then try to pull it off with a pair of pliers. Force isn’t an issue because if they can’t get the bushing off we will need to replace the trailer side rail.

  • What is the Eye to Eye Length on the Yakima Heavy Duty Shocks for Rack and Roll Trailers
I went out to the warehouse and pulled Yakima shock for Rack and Roll trailers # Y08110 to measure it. From the center of one eye to the center of the other is approximately 12-7/8 inches.

  • Are the Standard Shocks for Yakima Rack and Roll Same Color as Yakima Heavy Duty Shocks
Yes, the standard shocks for your 78 inch Yakima Rack and roll # Y08107 are silver and blue whereas the heavy duty ones are yellow and blue like the part # Y08110 that you referenced.

  • Are the Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer Crossbars Plastic or Metal
The Yakima Rack and Roll trailer # Y08106 uses metal crossbars. Plastic bars would not be able to handle the 250 pound capacity the trailer is rated for. Please note to reach the 250 pound capacity it is recommended to upgrade the trailer with heavy duty shocks, # Y08110.

  • Max Load Capacity of the Yakima Rack and Roll 78 Trailer Using Heavy Duty Shocks
With the 78 inch Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer # Y08107 the Heavy Duty Shocks # Y08110 will give you a 350 lb capacity. I confirmed this with Yakima.

  • Are The Heavy Duty Shocks And The 66 Inch Yakima Rack And Roll Trailer Compatible?
I reached out to my contact at Yakima and they confirmed that the Heavy Duty Shocks for Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer # Y08110 will fit on the Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer - 66 inch # Y08106. However the 66 inch trailer is not able to carry more than 250 lbs unless you add the 78 inch crossmember kit # Y08111 which will allow you to carry up to 350 lbs. The 66 inch crossmember limits that trailer to 250 lbs.

  • How Long Do the Wheel Bearings Last in the Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer
Since we have started carrying the Yakima Rack and Roll trailer # Y08107 I have not heard any complaints regarding the wheel bearings failing and only a few instances where people wanted to replace the wheel assembly. If you need to replace your bearings you'll need to source them since Yakima doesn't carry any and we don't carry the proper size bearings that fit. Should a wheel ever need to be replaced it is # Y08121. The trailer has a 250 pound capacity but that can be increased to...

  • Can the Yakima Heavy Duty Shocks be Used on a 66 inch Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer
You can use the heavy duty shocks # Y08110 on a 66 inch rack and roll trailer part # Y08106, but the heavy duty shocks are not recommended to be used on the 66 inch trailer as-is. To use the HD shocks, the trailer needs to be upgraded to 78 inches with the # Y08111 kit.

  • Dimensions of the Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer, HD Shock Upgrades, and Tongue Extensions
From the ground to the top of the crossbars when the the Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer, # Y08106, is level, it measures 22 inches. The Heavy Duty Shocks, # Y08110, is using the terms shocks as an all encompassing term that covers the shock itself and the springs for greater capacity. If you were to use the 6 foot extension, # Y08109, it comes with a wiring harness routed through the extension. One end of it connects to the existing wiring on the trailer and the other end would then connect...

  • Can 78" Crossbars be Used on the 66" Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer # Y08106
If you are already planning on needing more space than the 66" Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer # Y08106 can provide then I highly recommend going ahead and getting the 78" Rack and Roll # Y08107 instead. The 78" trailer is a whole foot wider than the 66" option so it can better handle the wider loads. If you were to add 78" crossbars to the 66" trailer the bars would stick out past the fenders and you are much more likely to tip the trailer that way. I reached out to my contact at Yakima...

  • Can Heavy Duty Shocks be Put on the 66 Inch Rack and Roll Trailer
The heavy duty Rack and Roll shocks, part # Y08110, can only be used on 66 inch Rack and Roll if you upgrade it with the 78 inch crossmember kit. The crossmember kit is part # Y08111. The 66 inch trailer is rated up to 250 pounds so as long as you're under that capacity there really isn't a need to upgrade it. It would just give you some peace of mind.

The shocks should only be used to upgrade the 78 inch trailer # Y08107. In order to use the Heavy Duty Shocks, the trailer will need to be upgraded to a 78 inch trailer by using the 78 Inch Crossmember Kit for Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer # Y08111. The Rack and Roll trailers, like the 66 inch long model # Y08106, are rated to tow at normal highway speeds. As always, exceeding posted speed limits is not recommended, especially when towing. You may want to consider a spare tire # Y08121 for the trailer, which includes a mounting kit to attach it to the frame. We also offer a kickstand, part # Y08115, for easier storage of the trailer. • What Makes the Yakima Rack and Roll Different From the Malone MicroSport Trailers
The Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer part # Y08107 is designed primarily for lighter loads such as watersport accessories and cargo. These lighter loads require a more sophisticated suspension i.e. coilovers in order to ride smoothly. • Recommended Trailer for Two Titan Propel 12 Kayaks
The best trailer we offer for your two Titan Propel 12 Kayaks is the Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer part # Y08107 paired with the Heavy Duty Shocks for Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer part # Y08110. The reason that I recommend the Rack and Roll is because of the fully independent, adjustable suspension which is going to provide a much better ride quality with less bounce when compared to the traditional leaf spring suspension system like on the Malone MegaSport Kayak Trailer. • What Size Ball Is Needed For The Yakima Rack And Roll Trailer?
The Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer # Y08106 has a 2" coupler, so your ball mount will need a 2" ball like the Curt # 40038. At the stock set up, you will have 66" crossbars and 250 pounds of carrying capacity. This can be upgraded to 350 pounds by by adding the 78" crossmember kit # Y08111 and HD shocks # Y08110. You will not need to upgrade the ball to do this though.

  • Should Yakima Rock and Roll Trailer Upgrade to Heavy Duty Shocks
While there isn't a life expectancy, per se, of the shocks on the Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer - 66" # Y08106 and 78" # Y08107, upgrading to the HD shocks is absolutely a good idea if your gear weighs around 200 llbs and certainly anything above that. The Heavy Duty Shocks for Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer # Y08110 do increase the capacity of your trailer from 250 lbs to 350 lbs so if you need that extra capacity, the HD shocks are what you'll need. That said, if you are just in the 100...
