2024 Forest River Wildwood X-Lite 273QBXL

Updated 03/27/2026 | Published 03/23/2026

Question:

I have a 2024 Forest River Wildwood WDT273QBXLX, will the RM82MR work with this Camper? It has underslung axles where the axel is above the leaf springs. Do I need to convert? Please help. Every example I can find shows it installed where the leaf springs are above the axels. Can I flip the axel around?

Hey Michael! The Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit # RM82MR will fit your Wildwood X-Lite with underslung axles. We have confirmed this with Roadmaster. Most travel trailers and 5th wheels have overslung axles which is why you don't see any examples in our pictures or videos.

I did see you went ahead and picked up the MORryde ALLTREK 4000 # MR89DR. You can still add the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Shock Absorbers # RM-2450 to go with the upgraded equalizer. It won't be quite as good as the full Roadmaster system but you will still see a significant improvement in your ride quality. We actually have a picture of the shocks installed on an underslung axle which I attached below.

Where are you headed once you get all of the upgrades installed on your trailer?

I am an electrical engineer for a mining construction company, I design the power distribution and automation systems for the material processing plants. Most mines are in "God's Country", and the hotel choices are very slim in most of these places, so I take my RV all over the country. My next trip will be in two weeks from South Carolina to South Dakota.

@MichaelI hard to beat having your own place when you’re out in those remote job sites. South Carolina to South Dakota should be a great haul once you get the equalizer, tires, and disc brakes installed. Don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything else and have a safe trip!

@MichaelI it might add a little bit of height to your suspension but it won't act like a lift. It depends on the height of your existing equalizers. I can tell you that it won't have a negative impact on the suspension geometry. Did you look at the MORryde qualification guide for fitment? https://www.morryde.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/AllTrek-4000_Qualifier_v4.pdf
