I asked and was told the pads were not included in the calipers I ordered so I ordered the set and, well, the pads came with the calipers, Oh Well.
They looked good but couldn't use them as the calipers didn't fit.

Well, gosh, Jay! Let me look into this for you. You shouldn't be stuck with parts we told you to buy if you don't need them. We will be in touch

by:

Easy to look up part # after id'ing the caliper. The stainless backing plate should eliminate the corrosion issue of "spitting" out the pad from the backing plate (salt water trailer)

by:

Best customer service ever!!!!!
Was
trying to get boat ready for a trip to the coast and found that the original brake pad backing had deteriorated due to saltwater. I also found I had two wheel seals leaking. Got on etrailer.com and found the parts I needed with ease. I ordered everything I needed and had them overnighted at 4:36pm on a Tuesday. Customer service called 30 minutes later to apologize and said that my order was placed after the orders for the day had been sent out. They promised they would do everything they could but it would probably be the next day before they could send them out and I might not get them until Thursday. I completely understood and was not upset. Well, the next morning (Wednesday) by 10am my parts were sitting on my porch!!!! Not sure how they made it happen but thank you to whoever did.
The parts were top notch and the stainless steel backing brake pads and stainless lug nuts were just why I needed!
Top notch and will never buy trailer parts from anywhere else. Thank you and now I’m going fishing a day early!
Boats in the water thanks to etrailer!

by:

you had all the parts to completely rebuild my trailer brakes to new condition. As it is a salt water trailer, they are holding up very well. Thanks for being here and your good service

by:

These brakes are excellent! And so is the service/technical support provided by George J of etrailer and others. This was the first time I ever replaced trailer brakes and I also bled the brake system for the first time. Everything went very smooth. I live in Florida and all of use of the trailer is in salt water. The brakes have held up very well.

by:

The tabs to secure the pads are super hard to bend. Kind of a poor design. But after getting them secured enough and used them a little, the rattling went down

by:

As usual excellent brakes.

by:

Good quality brake pads, Needed these in stainless steel for ocean water.

by:

I have a dozen trailers and do most of my own maintenance. etrailer is my go to for the right parts at the right price with excellent shipping and superb customer focused advice. Alex handled my last parts order and he is a credit to the organization!

by:

Stainless replacement brake pads. Wish they would last longer.

by:

These are going on a Sport Trail boat trailer. Great pricing and extremely fast delivery. Will definitely be a returning customer! Thanks

by:

So far so good, I just installed these even though I ordered them a year ago. Can't wait to see how the Stainless Steel holds up on my boat trailer, the ones I took off were in terrible shape even though there was a lot of pad left. Great stopping power, I turned down my brake controller after I installed these.

by:

Pads were exact fit replacements. We will see if they are high quality stainless steel backing plates (don't rust). Time will tell.

The product is all that I would expect and has worked flawlessly.

by:

Delivered on time. Good quality product. Steve was great helping with part selection and shipping.

by:

Adding disc breaks to my was the best upgrade I have ever made. The breaking power is fantastic, they are always in adjustment and I can stop my 36 ft 5th wheeler faster and safer with less strain on my truck.

by:

If you need replacement Kodiak brake pads for your trailer, and you launch in salt water, the pads with the stainless backing plates are the only way to go. I had the pads break free from plain steel backing plates, and damage my rotors. Not worth it.

Brakes pads shipped promptly. The fact they were priced competitively and shipping was very reasonable is a bonus. etrailer rocks.

by:

If you put your trailer in saltwater, it is totally worth the extra cost for the stainless rotors, pads and calipers to have brakes that work reliably for a long time and not just a distant battle with rust

by:

The stainless steel rotors and stainless steel brake pads were delivered on time and in good condition. Installation went smoothly and the brakes are working well. The trailer will be dunked in saltwater regularly so stainless steel should not rust like the previous pads. The old pads still had plenty of wear left but they rusted and the pads separated from the backing plate. The outside pads fell completely out of the caliper. If given the opportunity will provide an update after some use.

by:

I'm glad I got the Stainless Steel versions for my 8K lb travel trailer...after 5 years and 10K+ miles, there was not a speck of rust on these pads or the Stainless brake cylinder / pad carriers. Actually, the pads were less than 50% used but I decided to replace them as I can't afford a failure or downtime on the road. A little cleaning of the guides and some silicone grease and the guides / carriers were like brand new.

by:

The brake pads were much cheaper than anywhere else I looked, even after paying for three day shipping!

Its been a year now, and the pads are still going strong!

by:

I ordered the ceramic brake pads with ss backing plate. I have the Kodiak ss calipers and ss rotors on my boat trailer. There was no rust on the old pads or any of the Kodiak equipment even though I fish saltwater frequently. I expect the new pads to perform as well. They arrived on time and were delivered to my mailbox.

Came in fast and the parts were correct

  • How to Find Replacement Brake Pads for Trailer
It sounds like you are needing replacement brake pads for the disc brakes on your trailer. In order to find compatible replacements, you will first need to locate the brand name of your existing parts. Brake pads are brand specific and they will also be rated for certain calipers. For example, the Kodiak Ceramic Brake Pads # K225CPSS are for calipers that are rated for 3,500 pounds to 6,000 pounds. I have attached a link that will take you to our available selection of brake pads for...

  • Replacement Rotors and Brake Pads For EZ Loader Boat Trailer With Kodiak 3,500LB Disc Brakes
Since you have a Kodiak Disc brake caliper on your EZ Loader boat trailer you will want to replace it with the Kodiak Integrated Rotor # KHR10D. This rotor is 10" in diameter while the Dexter # K08-435-05 you found is only 9-3/4" in diameter. The difference in diameter would lead to wear issues on the pads. It is best to install new Pads # K225CPSS when you change your rotors so the pads can bed in properly on the new rotor.

  • Recommended Spare Parts To Replace UFP Hubs With Rotors And Calipers
We don't have the UFP Brand, but I can give you some compatible parts. For your trailer hubs with rotor, I recommend the Kodiak 10" Hub-and-Rotor Assembly - 5 on 4-1/2 - Dacromet - 3,500 lbs # KHR10D. You will need grease seal # RG06-050 along with bearing # L68149 and # L44649. For your brakes, I recommend the Kodiak Ceramic Brake Pads w/Stainless Steel Backing Plate - 3,500 lbs to 6,000 lbs # K225CPSS along with the Kodiak Disc Brake Caliper - Stainless Steel - 3,500 lbs to 6,000 lbs...

  • Are Kodiak 225 Brake Pads Interchangeable With the Kodiak 204 Brake Calipers?
According to Kodiak the 225 and 204 calipers and pads are not interchangeable. As they have discontinued the 204 calipers you will want to upgrade to the 225 Caliper # KDBC225DAC. This particular caliper is Dacromet coated for corrosion resistance. We also have a Stainless # KDBC225S if you will be using around salt water. These will use either the Kodiak Ceramic Brake Pads # K225CP and we also have them in Stainless # K225CPSS for better corrosion resistance as well to match with the...

The Kodiak 225 calipers # KDBC225S fit 3,500 lb 10 inch assemblies as well as 12 inch rotors up to 5,200 lbs. The 204 calipers fit 3,500 lb axles with 10 inch assemblies. The 225 calipers are more prominent than the 204 calipers but they are not directly interchangeable. I reached out to my contact at Dexter (who bought out Kodiak) and he said the mounting locations are slightly different and the piston size is different with the 204 model being roughly a 2 inch diameter piston and the...

  • Can Dot 5 Brake Fluid Be Used with Rebuilt Kodiak 225 Brake Calipers?
The Kodiak Disc Brake Caliper 3,500 lbs to 6,000 lbs # KDBC225S and similar finishes will require the Kodiak Disc Brake Caliper Rebuild Kit for 3,500 lb to 6,000 lb Trailer Brakes # KDBC225KIT which will give you all the seals, bolts, bushings, and piston needed. Once rebuilt the system can use Dot 5 brake fluid but only after removing all previous fluid and flushing the system. Dot 5 is not compatible with Dot 3 or 4 so a complete flush or new parts are required. I also recommend...

  • Recommended Disc Brake Kit for Airstream Tandem Axle Trailer
To convert to disc brakes, you will need to check the bearings on your current hubs. If you pull the hub you should find on the inner and outer bearing a number printed on each. Those numbers will help to confirm the fit on your spindle. If you can't find this number, then you can measure the spindle with a digital caliper like # PTW80157 where the bearings would rest on the spindle. I've attached a photo to assist. For 6 stud hubs with rotor, I recommend the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit...

  • Is it Okay if Inner Disc Brake Pad Is Not Held Tight to Piston
The reason the inner pad feels like it's not held tight is because the caliper is floating which means when there's not pressure one of the pads typically drifts further apart. But when the braking pressure is applied the force on both sides of the pad equalizes as the caliper floats. It's kind of a weird thing to try and describe but if you apply the brakes with the wheel off and watch the pads you'll see how it all works together.
