Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today, we're gonna take a look at this Yakima HitchLock for the Yakima hitch mounted bike racks. This HitchLock is going to lock and secure your Yakima hitch mounted bike carrier to your vehicle's hitch receiver, ensuring the safety of your gear. Now, this is going to work with any Yakima hitch mounted bike carrier. And this will simply attach to the end of your existing Yakima hitch pin.
And I happen to have a Yakima hitch pin right here. So, this is gonna be very simple to use. You're just going to push the lock over the end of the pin until it clicks as you just heard there and then it is in place. And then to remove, you're just going to take one of the included keys and you are gonna get two keys. And just insert the key into the lock, give it a quarter of a turn, and it will slide right off.
Now, this lock includes Yakima's Same Key System or SKS locking core and as I mentioned, two keys. And what's nice about these SKS cores is they can be changed out and keyed alike with your other Yakima locks. This also has, as you can see, an attached dust cap and that is going to help keep the dirt and debris out of your lock. And this does have a lifetime warranty. Well, that's gonna conclude our brief look today.

It works perfectly. I lost my original lock when I forgot to lock it after putting it on.-
This concept,SKS, makes life easy
Had to use a heat gun to get the cap strap to hold the cover in place without popping open.
Dinked it a star because the dust cap does not stay on from the moment of installing. Should be rubber and not slippery ill fitting vinyl.
Snaps on the Yakima Longarm Load Extender's receiver lock screw and does it's job of securing your high priced well manufactured Yakima product.

Purchased the Yakima EXO Swingbase enclosed cargo carrier for my 2014 2 door Jeep Wrangler. Was looking for a carrier to carry my chain saw and misc. items without having to fold my rear seats down.I also wanted the ability to open the rear door and liftgate assembly which the Yakima EXO swingbase allows.After receiving my new rear cargo carrier from etrailer I installed it on my Jeep without the 7 inch Hitch extender which I had purchased with the unit.You would probably need the Hitch extender if you had a wider than stock tire mounted on the rear spare tire carrier. With out the extender I had about 1" clearance between spare tire and swingbase assembly.I have not been able to use it on the road yet on the Jeep because the cargo box covers the vehicle licence plate. I am currently waiting on the licence plate tail.light bracket assembly which was back ordered.The cool part about this is the swing base is supposed to be wired and predrilled for the bracket assembly already. While waiting on back ordered bracket will try cargo carrier on a 2021 Dodge Durango. Will give review on Durango once test completed.
The hitch pin lock works perfectly.
Luckily one key out of the set of two worked. Ordered this for a Yakima bed extender, and had dissapointments there as well. I won’t be ordering any further Yakima products

Works as advertised. This was purchased for the Yakima Long Arm and bed extender.
This hitch lock works well. It is definitely light duty though, and just for keeping honest people honest. Also, the protective cap doesn't stay on well, and keeps popping off. I don't think it will stay on during a trip.

etrailer had a great price and it arrived quickly. Although the photo on the website showed an etrailer lock, I received a Yakima-branded hitchpin lock. You won't be disappointed!
The lock connects well to the replacement hitch bolt that I purchased for use with my old Yakima Bighorn 4 bike carrier. I appreciate the added security. Only deducted one star because as others have stated, the lock cover pops off.
