Question:

Hello, I have a 2001 Four Winns 19 boat trailer with Kodiak 225 disk brakes. Model DO18190. I need wheel bearings and seals. I might need rotors and brake pads. Is there a caliper repair kit for these? Thanks.

Hi Glenn!

The Kodiak 225 disk brakes were used on 3,500 lbs to 6,000 lbs axles, so there are a lot of bearing combinations and wheel bolt patterns that could have been used with them. If you could let me know your axle capacity as well as the bolt pattern for your wheels, I can definitely get you replacements for those.

The pads are easier though, and I have those listed below:

Kodiak Ceramic Brake Pads w/Stainless Steel Backing Plate - 3,500 lbs to 6,000 lbs # K225CPSS
Kodiak Ceramic Brake Pads - 3,500 lbs to 6,000 lbs # K225CP

The only difference between them is the backing plate. You really only need stainless steel if you are launching in salt water, but really you can use the standard painted ones for that as well as long as you keep them clean. Then for a repair/rebuild kit, we do have that with the Kodiak Disc Brake Caliper Rebuild Kit for 3,500 lb to 6,000 lb Trailer Brakes # KDBC225KIT.

On that note, where do you typically launch?
