Arrived as described. Disappointed to discover that etrailer.com does not carry mounting brackets for their regulators, but I welcomed the opportunity to dust off my diy skills. Note the bailing wire. Super pro! Also, if anyone knows what happens when one uses a vertical regulator horizontally, I'm all ears.

Thank you for the review! It looks like the vent placement is one the main differences in the two kinds of regulators. They are placed in such a way that debris from the road will is less likely to clog them. When using the vertical regulator horizontally, the openings are more likely to get clogged which can be a safety issue.

The problem I was having was orange flame on the stove. Looking on line it said that was caused by a defective propane regulator. We were using a humidifier, with the humidifier turn on we got orange flames with the humidifier turned off blue flames.

by:

Love that it works in freezing temperatures! Perfect for our off grid living!

by:

Exact replacement to what the camper came with. It works great with no issues

by:

The package arrived on time and undamaged. Nothing more to say great service.

by:

The mounting holes (4) in the back were not threaded, so we could not use them. We have tried this type of regulator from Camo and Mr Heater. They use the same type of mounting holes / plate and are cheaper, but they stop working after about 3 yrs. We have tried the Auto switching regulators, for two 100lb tanks, they don't work at low temperatures (<0F).

by:

400k btu’s an hour. Hard to beat that

by:

MB Sturgis is a quality OEM part on many rvs and the price is right.

by:

Good company to buy from. (first time, but not the last) I think the gas regulator the camper came with never worked right sense it was bought new. First time it has worked right. The original one was mounted wrong from the factory. Parts got here quick, good packaging to keep from getting damaged in transit.

by:

I don't know much about propane but this regulator was just what I needed and it works perfectly fine. I was glad I could find one at etrailer.com

by:

It's exactly what I needed for the perfect fit. One year later, very happy with the product and would definitely buy again if needed.

by:

Working as designed. No issues with the installation. Be careful plastic black cap on the 2nd stage may be loose as was mine. a challenge to retrieve it where it fell, of course as is always the case. All is well

by:

The propane regulator I ordered seems to be made of quality as does the flex hose. Will order again when I need. Thanks ..,....

..Merry Christmas to all.

by:

I ordered two items from Etrailer.com and received my order within days...fast delivery and savings make this my primary RC parts retailer.

by:

I’ve had to replace my regulator twice. So far this one is working great.

by:

Best regulator of all .Will continue to work in very cold weather.

by:

Mounting holes not tapped. No thread cutting screws. No mounting template.

by:

Good overall. Time will tell with dependability. As usual these days, not the exact same quality of what it is replacing.

by:

Reasonable price, fast shipping.Has laster longer than original.

  • MB Sturgis 2 Stage 11" W.C Regulator With 6' Hoses
We currently carry the MB Sturgis Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator # 108220 which is a 1/4" female NPT inlet, 3/8 female NPT outlet, 2 stage propane regulator. In stage 2 this regulator will reduce pressure to 11" W.C to allow for safe gas flow to your appliances. Be sure to use teflon tape like # A05-0265 to properly seal your NPT fittings. We do not currently carry any regulators that are 1/2", the largest inlet/outlet we have is 3/8". We do carry the MB Sturgis High Pressure Propane...

  • Can The Excel RV Tankless Water Heater Be Connected To A 1lb Propane Tank Bottle
Yes, you could use a 1lb propane tank with the Excel RV Tankless Water Heater # EX93FR, but you would need to install a regulator and use the appropriate fittings. A 1lb propane tank will typically have a 1"-20 fitting so you would need to use the Disposable Propane Bottle Adapter # 37207-30185 on the bottle and could thread it into a regulator like part # 108221 or # 108220. The key to regulators is to ensure that the vents are facing down so water and debris can't get into them. This...

  • Recommended Regulator for Fireplace and 100 Lb Propane Tank
The MB Sturgis Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator part # 108220 is what I recommend using to supply the fireplace. The MB Sturgis Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator has the correct water column pressure rating you need (11"WC) and the vent is pointed down (6 o'clock position) so it meets both of your criteria. In order to hook up the MB Sturgis Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator to the 100 lb tank you will need the MB Sturgis Hose Assembly part # 100202.

  • Recommended Regulator For A Motorhome Propane Setup
Depending on the piping is on your propane system you can use a horizontal or vertical regular. Basically just what fits in the space most conveniently. So you could use the MB Sturgis Horizontal 2-Stage Propane Regulator - 11" Water Column Outlet Item # 108221 for a horizontal setup or the MB Sturgis Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator - 11" Water Column Outlet Item # 108220 for a vertical setup. Anytime you're installing a regulator you should always place it so the vent is facing downward.

  • Gas Not Switching to Secondary Tank After Regulator Replacement
A 2-stage propane regulator like part # 108220 is not designed to switch over the gas from one tank to another. In order to switch the flow of gas from one tank to another you would need to use an auto changeover regulator like part # CAM59005. A 2-stage and auto changeover regulator may both look the same but are very different in function. This is likely why the gas is not switching for the empty tank and not a failed secondary regulator like part # 108072.

  • Recommended LP Gas Regulator for 100 Lb Tank
The MB Sturgis 2-Stage Propane Regulator part # 108221 for horizontal mount or part # 108220 for vertical mount is what I recommend for a 100 lb tank. It does not matter which you choose so long as you have the vent pointed downward. These regulators will work just fine with both propane and lp gas. In order to connect either regulator you can use the MB Sturgis POL Propane Tank Connector Fitting part # 204051-MBS or the MB Sturgis Hose Assembly part # 100202.

You will need a vertical regulator if your is mounted upright and the vent is on the bottom. If you need a horizontal regulator, the MB Sturgis Horizontal 2-Stage Propane Regulator - 11" Water Column Outlet # 108221 will also work for your heater. You will need a horizontal regulator...

  • Regulator for Using Portable Tank to Power Small Appliances in Cottage
A dual stage regulator like the MB Sturgis Vertical Regulator # 108220 can indeed be used to connect to a portable propane tank with a Type 1 hose like # 100473-12. This will allow the portable tank to power the small appliances in your cottage. You will just need to determine what kind of fittings you have in the cottage for the needed hose to run from the regulator.

  • Recommended Propane Regulator and 8 to 10 Foot Hose to Supply a Food Trailer
To supply your food trailer from your 100 pound tank you're going to need a pigtail, like part # 100473-20-MBS, that goes from the tank to a regulator. The regulator needs to be a 2-stage regulator like part # 108220. Then from the regulator use part # 100040-144-MBS. It's 12 feet long so more than what you need but we don't have an 8 to 10 foot hose that has a 3/8 male to connect to a regulator with a 3/8 female flare on the other end. The next shortest option we carry is 6 feet long,...

It took a bit to find any useable information but I did find one chart that lists two different 11,000 BTU models, the AGDV12N (10.5" WC Max / 6.4" WC Min) and the AGDV12L (14" WC Max / 11" WC Min). The majority of the regulators that we carry, including the MB Sturgis Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator # 108220 you were looking at regulate pressure to 11" WC. My suggestion is to replace with the Compact Low Pressure 2-Stage Automatic Changeover RV LP Gas Regulator, # 37207-31525 that is rated for 262,500 Btu.
