The vent on a regulator should always be facing down to allow gravity to properly vent the regulator. If your system has your pipes running horizontally then you would want the MB Sturgis Horizontal 2-Stage Propane Regulator - 11" Water Column Outlet # 108221 and if your pipes run vertical you would want the MB Sturgis Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator - 11" Water Column Outlet # 108220 that you were already looking at.
