MB Sturgis Propane Fittings - 100473-24-MBS

  • Hoses
  • Pigtail Hoses
  • 2 Feet Long
  • 1/4 Inch - Male NPT
  • Type 1 - Female
  • MB Sturgis

Pigtail makes the connection from the propane tanks on your trailer to the propane regulator. Also used to connect tanks to a high-pressure regulator to carry gas to a 2-stage regulator. Check valve prevents hazardous backflow leakage.

Features:

  • Propane pigtail connects your propane cylinder to a regulator
    • Used for single or dual tank setups on the front of your travel trailer
    • Also used to connect a remote tank to a high-pressure regulator
  • Female Type 1 fitting connects to the valve on your propane cylinder
  • Male NPT connects to a propane regulator
  • Built-in bypass mode shuts gas off when flow reaches maximum capacity for safety
    • Thermal shut-off device turns off gas flow in extreme heat caused by open flame
    • Excess-flow safety device limits gas flow in the event of a severe leak
  • Durable thermoplastic hose and brass fittings approved for LP gas only
    • Rated for high pressure and high flow rate to handle unregulated propane
    • UL569 and ANSI Z21-81 certified
  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • Temperature range: -40 F to 140 F
  • Hose dimensions: 24" long x 1/4" inner diameter
  • Hose fittings:
    • Female Type 1
    • 1/4" Male NPT
  • Maximum pressure rating: 350 psi
  • Maximum flow capacity: 450,000 Btu per hour
  • 1-Year limited warranty

This propane hose is ideal for travel trailers with a split-tank system. This kind of system features 1 cylinder on the driver's side and 1 cylinder on the passenger's side of your trailer. This hose connects the cylinder on the passenger's side to a high-pressure regulator. An additional hose (sold separately) will then carry the propane from the high-pressure regulator to the 2-stage regulator on the driver's side of your trailer.

Bypass Mode for Safety

This Type 1 connector will go into bypass mode if the flow rate surpasses the maximum flow capacity for this connector, which is 450,000 Btu per hour. A ball inside of the fitting will push an internal spring down, pressing firmly against the bottom of the fitting to shut off the flow of gas.

When choosing a Type 1 connector, consider your overall propane demands and choose a connector with a flow rate that just exceeds it. That way, you won't trigger the bypass mode during normal use, but it will trigger in the event of a leak. If the bypass valve engages, stop using gas and start checking your connections for leaks.

I had to go to a longer length because of time constraints on my end. They fit great. Ready to go.

My original order was damaged during shipping. Etrailer shipped another set right away so I didn’t miss my trip. Great customer service and support

by:

Direct replacement. Quality product.

by:

The high quality of this piece is evident. In particular, the crimped collars (where my OE gas line failed on my Airstream) are exceptionally made.

by:

E-trailer kept me informed when original party was delayed, and offered an acceptable alternative which was shipped the next a.m. and kept me well informed of the status. Part received was exactly right, and I keep shopping here because I know I’m getting the right part and the support is excellent.

by:

So far so good. I've had these for a year now and no issues since I put them on. I love that they are made in the USA as well. Sturgis will be my brand from now on unless they start manufacturing in china.

by:

Made in USA sold this item. It's only been installed for 20 minutes, but no leaks detected following the install. Hoping for years of trouble-free service.

by:

A perfect fit to the new regulator I also purchased from you. Thanks.

No problems thus far. A good product.

by:

Good product. Works exactly as expected.

by:

Seem very solid and made in the USA so must be good, right? But the real reason I take the time to write this review is to praise etrailer's staff for their excellent customer service. My package was lost by USPS at the Canadian border and etrailer followed up with several emails and a phone call and reshipped my order. I didn't have to harass anyone, I only needed to send one email initially. They really cared about making sure I was happy. Thank you etrailer staff! Christmas bonus for everyone!

by:

Amazon didn't have what I needed and this worked with no special effort. Thank you!

by:

Replaced along with new regulator. Went with a 2" longer hose.

by:

1st item I received was packaged wrong 2nd came within a few days and fit perfect.

by:

Works great. Nice replacement

Great.

by:

The hoses worked out but oddly different lengths despite what was ordered and packaged. Not an eTrailer issue but provided feedback. eTrailer has excellent customer service.

by:

Just what my husband needed for the propane gas line on his 1/8 scale steam-engine model train. Couldn't find the right fitting at any hardware store. We got exactly what he needed from etrailer! Thanks!

by:

I was sent the wrong product and after emailing customer service I was ignored. Will never buy anything from this website again zero sty

I checked on your order and I sincerely apologize as it does look like it slipped through the cracks. I will have our customer service team reach out to you as quickly as possible.

by:

etrailer is great. They have great product descriptions and review videos so that I know exactly what I am buying and how it will fit my needs
I recently received a propane hose from etrailer that had been mis-packaged and therefore was the wrong length. They quickly sent out a replacement hose and now I have what I need.
Thanks a lot to Bryan and the crew at etrailer.

by:

Exact replacement for the old gas line I had on my 5th wheel. Construction is sturdy and fits nicely. Arrived on time and as advertised. Would buy form this seller again.

by:

New hose assembly fit perfect. Needed a hose a tad longer than what came on my camper. Mfg. of camper made hose slightly to short for my liking. Old hose was kinking.

George at etrailer kept me informed of the status of my order the whole time. Outstanding service from them.

by:

The site was easy enough to navigate, the information provided was very helpful. The 2 pig tails was exactly what I needed - which I just installed. I think I just found a useful resource for my trailer needs.

by:

4 months of use and it leaks at the hose… very slow leak but it leaks

by:

Just what I needed to replace a worn out hose and connector.

by:

I needed longer hoses as I purchased propane tank gauges. This was exactly what I needed. etrailer for the win.

by:

The metal crimp on the hose failed. Leaked like a sieve, don't waste your money, wished I had listened to other reviewers that had same issue! First thing from etrailer that I have been disappointed in.

For your 2022 Xtreme Outdoors Micro Max, I recommend going with the MB Sturgis High Capacity Two-Stage Auto Changeover Regulator # 888001-MBS. This is a high-capacity, auto-changeover regulator like what you're looking for, with a flow-capacity of 500,000 Btu per hour. Additionally, this regulator is made in the USA so you can be sure you're getting a quality part that'll work. You're also going to need a pigtail # 100473-24-MBS to connect your regulator to your propane tank.

  • Availability of 15 inch Long Propane Tank Pig Tails
I understand what you are saying and I think you are on the right track. A bit more length from the pig tail would allow the rubber line to be able to loop so that it could tuck down better. We have 15 inch pig tails like part # 100473-15-MBS or even 2 foot long sections like part # 100473-24-MBS.

Yes, you can use the MB Sturgis 100473 hose with a replacement single-stage regulator, which is what it looks like you need based on your photo. For the regulator you will need the Camco Single Stage Propane Regulator # CAM59013. In order to connect the MB Sturgis Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator part # 108220 to a 100 lb propane tank you will need the MB Sturgis Sturgi-Stay Propane Fill Hose part # 100019-24 and the MB Sturgis Propane Adapter Fitting part # 402258-MBS. • How To Determine What Correct Propane Pigtail Is Needed
To determine which pigtail will be right for you, you will first need to know what type of regulator you have. The two most common types of regulators is a standard two stage regulator like the MB Sturgis Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator # 108220, and an automatic changeover two stage regulator like the MB Sturgis High Capacity Two-Stage Auto Changeover Regulator # 888001-MBS. We do have a good option for you Jim. We do not carry the Fairview brand, but we do have the Propane Hose # 37207-30865 which is basically a direct equivalent of the Fairview I4TC20MP4QC4. The Propane Hose # 37207-30865 is a 20" long hose with a tank connection on one end and the 1/4" MNPT on the other. This is generally used for connecting an LP gas cylinder to a regulator.

No, the same regulator you would use on a 20lb tank can also be used on a 30lb tank. The Camco Automatic Changeover 2-Stage Propane Regulator for Dual Propane Tanks # CAM59005 you were looking at can definitely be used with a both a 20lb and 30lb tank.
