  • Do You Need Teflon Tape For A Propane Pigtail Connector.
Yes, you will need teflon tape rated for use with propane. The MB Sturgis Propane Hose Assembly - RV Type 1 w/ Back Check x 1/4" MPT - 12" # 100473-12 does not have an inverted flare in it so it will require tape on the end leading away from the propane tank. An example of the inverted flare can be seen on the MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail - Stainless Overbraid - Type 1 x 1/4" Male Inverted Flare - 2' # 100833-24. If you look at the fitting running away from the tank you will see the flare. If...

  • Regulator Recommendation for a 100 lb Propane Tank
Hey Matt! The best regulator for your 100 lb Propane Tank is the MB Sturgis Horizontal 2-Stage Propane Regulator # 108221. You should be able to hook the regulator up to your tank using the MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail Hose # 100019-60 and Adapter # 402258-MBS. I'm not sure what would be needed to hook up to your water heater, but if you can let me know what type of connector that has on it I might be able to help out!

  • Replacement Propane Hose From POL to Regulator Thats 28 Inches Long
The overall length of the MB Sturgis hose you asked about is 24-7/8 inches so it's too short for you. Instead I recommend using part # 37207-30645 which is 30 inches. It's a little longer than what you need but it has the same fittings.

  • How To Attach a 100 Lb and 40 Lb Propane Tank to the MB Sturgis Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator
In order to connect the MB Sturgis Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator part # 108220 to a 100 lb propane tank you will need the MB Sturgis Sturgi-Stay Propane Fill Hose part # 100019-24 and the MB Sturgis Propane Adapter Fitting part # 402258-MBS. In order to connect this same regulator to a 40 lb propane tank you will just need to use the MB Sturgis Propane Hose w/ Back Check part # 100473-24-MBS.

  • Recommended Type 1 Propane Pigtail with Dark Green Connector
It sounds like you're looking for a Type 1 propane pigtail, which are available in 12" with part # 100833-12, 18" with part # 37207-30735 or 30" with part # 100575-30-MBS; these all have the dark green Type 1 connection that you're seeking but they do not come in a 10" long version. For the 1/4" MIF to 1/4" Female MPT adapter you can use the # 402258-MBS which does not have a back check, or the # 204120-MBS which comes with a back check. There is not a Female MPT to MIF adapter available,...

  • Recommended Propane Regulator 11 inch to 13 Inch WC Hooked up to 100 Lb Tank
The standard water column output for RV propane regulators is 11" like the MB Sturgis 2-Stage Propane Regulator part # 108220 for vertical or part # 108221 for horizontal which are what I recommend. That said, you can adjust them higher to 12" by removing the black cap and turning the valve underneath. These can be hooked up to a 100 lb propane tank using the MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail Hose part # 100019-60 and MB Sturgis Propane Adapter Fitting part # 402258-MBS. We don't carry any CCST...

  • Regulator For a 100 lb Propane Tank to a Ventless Heater
The regulator you need is MB Sturgis part # 108220. The maximum propane flow capacity of this regulator is 400,000 BTU per hour so it can handle the 18,000 BTU of your Empire wall mount ventless heater. The two stage regulator is also the best option for the heater that is most likely running for extended amounts of time. Most likely there is a POL fitting on the tank, you can use 100019-48 pigtail to the regulator. The hose does not have a back check so you need adapter fitting part...

  • Choosing Between a Single and Dual Stage Regulator for 100 Lb Propane Tank and Furnace
It is usually best to go with a dual stage propane regulator over a single stage propane regulator as they are more accurate, perform better in the cold, and most can be adjusted. For this, I recommend the MB Sturgis Horizontal 2-Stage Propane Regulator part # 108221. In order to attach the regulator inlet to your 100 lb propane tank you will need the MB Sturgis Sturgi-Stay Propane Fill Hose part # 100019-15 and the MB Sturgis Propane Adapter Fitting part # 402258-MBS. In order to attach...

  • Can Type 1 Propane Connector be Used for Propane Tank with Threads on Outside
Thank you for the photo! Since your propane tank has the threads on the outside and inside it means that you can use a pigtail with either the POL or Type 1 connection like you're asking about. Swapping over to the Type 1 is a great idea just because it's easier to twist on plus you don't have to mess with any kind of sealant. If your regulator has the adapter on it then I recommend using the MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail - Stainless Overbraid - Type 1 x 1/4" Male Inverted Flare - 15" # 100833-15...

  • Is Teflon Tape Needed To Seal the Propane Regulator
Yes, you will want to use some sort of thread sealer like part # LT37482 or pipe tape like part # A05-0265 on the NPT fittings inside of the MB Sturgis Single Stage Propane Regulator part # 108072. As a general rule, all NPT fittings should have some sort of thread sealer or pipe tape on them. Not to confuse you but some supply hoses (propane tank to regulator) like part # 100833-12 come with an inverted flare fitting and if that is the case then you would also need part # 402258-MBS...

  • Recommended 12 Foot Long Hose To Go From Propane Tank to Regulator
The MB Sturgis Sturgi-Stay Propane Fill Hose part # 100019-144 along with the MB Sturgis Propane Adapter Fitting part # 402258-MBS is most likely what you are after in order to attach a propane tank to a propane regulator. The POL fitting on one end will attach to the tank and the 1/4" inverted flare fitting will attach to the propane regulator when using the 1/4" inverted flare to 1/4" NPT fitting above. The MB Sturgis Sturgi-Stay Propane Fill Hose is then rated for up to 350 psi.

  • Replacement Leader Hose for 100 Lb Propane Tank
Yes, we have the correct replacement leader hose that attaches your tank to the regulator. For this you are going to want to use the MB Sturgis Sturgi-Stay Propane Fill Hose part # 100019-24 for 2' long, part # 100019-36 for 3' long, part # 100019-48 for 4' long, or part # 100019-60 for 5' long. There should already be a brass adapter on both inlets of your regautor but if not you will also need one of the MB Sturgis Propane Adapter Fitting part # 402258-MBS.

  • Replacement Pigtail Needed for Type 1/ACME Fitting to Regulator
It sounds like you have a POL fitting for your propane and you are wanting to change to a Type 1/ACME propane fitting. You can definitely do this as long as you use the newer propane tanks that have the threads on the outside of the tank valve. To accomplish this you need the Propane Pigtail # 100575-15-MBS. If your regulator doesn't already have the brass fitting for the inverted flare side you also need the adapter # 402258-MBS. Using the inverted flare fitting means you don't have...

  • Can the MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail # 100575-20-MBS be Connected Directly to Regulator
Typically a regulator will have a 1/4" Female NPT inlet, like what the MB Sturgis Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator # 108220 has. For the MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail # 100575-20-MBS to connect to your regulator you will need the MB Sturgis Propane Adapter Fitting # 402258-MBS. If you already have the gold adapter fitting with the Female Inverted Flare fitting then the adapter is not needed.

  • Recommended Propane Regulator Needed for Outdoor Range with 100 Lb Propane Tank
The requirements for your outdoor range will dictate the correct regulator. That said, the MB Sturgis Horizontal 2-Stage Propane Regulator part # 108221 provides up to a 400,000 Btu per hour output which will surely be enough for your outdoor range. It will also work with a 100 lb propane tank using the MB Sturgis Sturgi-Stay Propane Fill Hose part # 100019-144 and the MB Sturgis Propane Adapter Fitting part # 402258-MBS.
