Approved for use on cars, trucks, SUVs, vans, and motorhomes - not approved for fifth wheels, travel trailers, or flat-towed vehicles

The Sport Rider Special Edition platform-style hitch bike rack makes it simple to carry 2 electric bikes on the rear of your vehicle. The included adapter sleeve enables the rack to fit both 1-1/4" and 2" hitch receivers. This bolstered steel rack is easy to use, and it features locking frame hooks and heavy-duty wheel holders with welded gussets to reinforce the rack so that it can handle the extra weight of your electric bikes.

Locking, Ratcheting Hooks

1450E hooks

Constructed of rugged steel with a sleek black powder coat finish, the Sport Rider SE2 uses locking frame hooks to secure your bikes. The ratcheting hooks are easily adjusted along the vertical mast and lock securely in place. The push buttons allow the hooks to slide up the ratcheting system to allow for bike removal. The lock cores keep the hooks from being moved up or down on the mast to deter theft. The hooks are different sizes and each one functions independently, meaning the rack can carry 2 bikes of the same or different heights.

Adjustable Wheel Holders

1450E Wheel Holders

The wheel holders accommodate bicycles with wheelbases up to 58", and you can adjust the wheel hoops by sliding them along the horizontal arms. They are secured in place with hand knobs. Velcro-like hook-and-loop straps secure your bike's wheels to the holders.

Folding, Tilting Design

The rack tilts, with or without bikes loaded, for easy access to your vehicle's rear cargo area. Simply remove the pivot pin, pull the bottom quick-release spring pin, and lower the rack.

The rack also folds up against the back of your vehicle when it's not in use. To raise the rack, just pull the upper quick-release spring pin and lift.

Easy Installation with Locking Hitch Pin

The Sport Rider SE2 easily installs in your hitch with the included locking hitch pin. Just slide the shank into your receiver, insert the hitch pin, and then tighten it down with the included tool. The pin also works as an anti-wobble device to eliminate sway and rattle in the receiver. The frame hook locks and the hitch lock are conveniently keyed alike.

A removable adapter sleeve is included so the rack can be converted for use with 1-1/4" hitch receivers. The sleeve attaches to the shank with a single screw and can be installed or removed quickly.

Add-On Wheel Hoop Adapters for Kid's Bikes

 Hollywood Racks Wheel Hoop Adapters

If you want to use the rack to transport a kid's bike with 16" or 18" wheels, wheel hoop adapters (HRSW-ADP-2 - sold separately) are available.

Video Transcript for Hollywood Racks RV and Camper Bike Racks Review - 2017 Toyota Highlander

Hey, everyone. Today we're going to take a look at this Hollywood Rack's sport rider SE two electric bike rack on the 2017 Toyota Highlander. Now, this electric bike rack is specifically designed to be reinforced and handle the weight and the size of your electric bikes. It's going to be able to hold up to two e-bikes, weighing up to 80 pounds each. That's a weight capacity of 160 pounds.Keep in mind that you don't want to go over that 80 pound capacity on a single bike, because it's going to be 80 pounds on the first one, 80 pounds on the second one. That should cover most e-bikes out there. This is a great way to be able to get them transported to and from your destination. It's going to hold your e-bike at three different points.

The first two points are going to be on the front and back wheels. We're going to have hook loop straps. We have one up front, securing it into the wheel tray, and we're also going to have one at the back, doing the same thing, just looped around, and then strapped to each other. The third point's going to be up here on this padded frame hook. It's putting downward force on top of our bike frame, forcing it down into the trays. Now, one thing I do want to point out when securing your bike is that Hollywood Racks recommends not forcing the hook all the way down.

Basically, what you want to do, I'll show you real quick, the hook could get jammed if you do this. So, I'm going to take this off and show you. This is the example of if you have it too tight, it'll get jammed, so then you have to push down on it to get it up, to push the button and get it off. There we go.From here, what you want to do is push down on it, and you're going to hear a clicking, push down until the hook has made contact with the frame. So, we're going to push down until it makes contact.

At this point, it's made contact, but you can see it's still a little bit loose. We're just going to go down one more click, and then it's going to ensure that it stays tight. There we go. Right there, it still has a little bit of wiggle room, but it's going to be secure, and it's not going to go anywhere. Now, with the bike rack fully loaded, you are going to be able to tilt this away from the vehicle. It's going to be pretty easy to do.

I would recommend if you have a full load, to get an extra set of hands. So, we're going to flip that pin out and pull it out. Then, we're going to pull the pin on the other side, tilt it away. From here, it's going to be pretty easy to open up our trunk. You can see we've got a good amount of clearance between our pedals, and between our handlebars. Now, we do have a good amount of space to slide in and grab whatever we might need.To tilt it back up, we're just going to grab a hold of the bike rack. This upright post is a good place to grab it. Come up until you hear it latch. Then, we're going to replace this pin. Now, let's go ahead and take our bike off, and take a closer look at the rack. We're going to start with the hook and loop straps. They come off pretty easy, just tear it off, pull it out. From here, we'll do the frame hook. Make sure you have a grip on your bike. There we go. From here, we're going to unload our bike. And, again, if you do have a heavier bike, and you're by yourself, just make sure you use caution. You don't want to come in contact with your vehicle. You could even just use the wheel, set it on the bike rack itself right there, then bring it all the way. Now, with no bikes loaded, I always like to go ahead and fold down this center mast. What I'm going to do is pull the pin out right there. Came from that slot. Fold it down and replace the pin. Now, with any hitch-mounted accessory, you are going to have added length to your vehicle. In the case of our Highlander, we're going to measure from the bumper to the outermost point. It's going to be at about 26 and a half inches added on to the back of our vehicle. We can cut down on that space just by folding up the bike rack. Keep in mind, you can only do this when it is empty. We're going to pull the same pin we used to tilt it away. Pull that, fold it up, until you hear it latch. Now, let's go ahead and measure again. Bumper's the outermost point, it's going to be 13 inches. So, we did take off a good amount of space. This is something you want to keep in mind for any close quarter situations like parking. Now, we'll come down and take a look and see how it connects to our hitch. We're going to have a two inch by two inch hitch receiver on our Highlander. We do have a nice anti-rattle hitch pin, excuse me, making sure that it takes out the shake and play from our bike rack even when we're traveling at high speeds. We also do have a lock on the other side. So, it's going to be a nice theft deterrence, so no one can remove the bike rack without that key.If you have another vehicle in your household, which has an inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter receiver, you can remove this sleeve that's on the inside of the receiver right now, converts the shank down to inch and a quarter.Thank you all for watching this. That's going to do it for our test fit of the Hollywood Racks sport rider SE two electric bike rack, on our 2017 Toyota Highlander.

Excellent product. Small issue with releasing one of the hold down arms. Even with no pressure, release would not work. Found if I inserted the key, and jiggled, was then able to release. Have now used it twice and love it. 721210

Really great product, very sturdy and easy to mount on car. Easily tote heavy electric bikes around. 678795

We bought two electric bikes last year and I was concerned about using a standard bike carrier for the heavier bikes. This one has worked well. I’ve used it with a 2 inch hitch receiver on my van and the smaller hitch receiver on my silly little Toyota Yaris. I like the versatility. I have also purchased the add-on to haul up to 4 ebikes, since I’ve bought more for the family. 673752

- HR1460Z-E

Haven't really given it a good test yet so I'm only giving 4 stars. I needed an E-bike rack for a 1 1/4 inch hitch. This is the best one I found. Very solid. Issues? 1. It's very heavy. 2. You'll have to purchase a cross-bar adapter for a woman's bike. 673437

Received delivery today (6/17/19) and proceeded to uncrate the bike rack. Although I have not yet installed it, I can attest to the quality of construction (VERY substantial), and attention to detail. I have read the instructions, and they are perfectly clear. I researched numerous racks and this clearly stood out as what I needed. I am not disappointed, and would highly recommend this rack for anyone needing a bike rack that is undoubtedly a piece of equipment that will not fail, and will provide years of service. 659405

Great web site, competitive pricing, good communication and quick delivery. Couldn’t ask for more. 621915

Do you have a question about this Hitch Bike Rack?

  • Best Bike Rack for E-Bike with Fenders
  • I do have an option for you but since your e-bike has fenders, the Thule T1 1-Bike Platform Rack part # TH9041 will not work for you. Instead, I recommend the Rola Convoy 1 Bike Platform Rack part # 59307 which can be used as a frame mount bike rack and has a 50 lb weight capacity. The best thing about this bike rack is that you can carry more bikes if you would like by adding the 1 Bike Add-On for Rola Convoy Platform Rack part # 59310. The Convoy has a tilting feature that will allow...

  • The Saris Freedom 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # SA4412B is compatible with bikes up to 60 lbs. Unfortunately your bike is just over that, so I recommend the Thule EasyFold XT 2 Electric Bike Platform Rack # TH903202 which is compatible with bikes up to 65 lbs and will not require any adapter bar. This will fully secure your bike by the frame and allow you to easily load your bike as well. It has many features the other bike carriers do not, so I've attached...

  • Why Can't Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 2-Bike Rack # HR1460Z-E Be Used on Class I Hitch
  • The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 2 Electric Bike Rack # HR1460Z-E referenced in your question should indeed only be used on Class II 1-1/4 inch receivers or higher rated 2 inch receivers. The manufacturer has simply determined that this particular rack with bikes loaded puts too much leverage on a lighter duty Class I hitch that could cause damage during travel. As you mentioned in your question it's certainly possible to stay under the 200 pound tongue weight capacity of a Class I hitch...

  • Bike Rack that Fits a 1-1/4 Inch Hitch Receiver to Carry a 75 Pound E-Bike
  • We carry one bike rack that might work for you. The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2, part # HR1460Z-E, platform rack can support up to 80 pound bikes and it fits a 1-1/4 inch receier hitch. As long as your hitch is a Class II this rack will work for you. It does not fit Class I hitches. If this doesn't work let me know the year, make, and model of your vehicle and I'll look into other options for you.

  • Can Sport Rider SE2 Bike Rack be Used in a Class II Hitch with an Adapter
  • The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2, part # HR1450Z-E, is only designed for 2 inch trailer hitches and the manufacturer does not recommend using an adapter. Adapters normally aren't a good idea with hitch carriers because your tongue weight is reduced by 50 percent. This often makes the weight of the bikes and rack too much for the hitch. Even if you don't exceed the tongue weight rating you're still putting extra stress on the components which is better to avoid when possible. Instead...

All of the hitches available for that vehicle like part # C11381 are class I hitches so the Hollywood Rack Sport Rider part # HR1460Z-E is not compatible because it is only compatible with Class II and Class III hitches. We do have the Rola Convoy 1 Bike Platform Rack # 59308, 2 Bike Platform Rack # 59308-2 and the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 # HR1460Z-E which would be able to carry your 75 lb E-Bike but none of these have a ramp that fit them so you'd have to muscle the...

I recommend checking out the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 # HR1460Z-E, which will work so long as you have at least a Class II 1-1/4 inch receiver.
