Approved for use on cars, trucks, SUVs, vans, and motorhomes - not approved for fifth wheels, travel trailers, or flat-towed vehicles

The Sport Rider Special Edition platform-style hitch bike rack makes it simple to carry 2 electric bikes on the rear of your vehicle. The included adapter sleeve enables the rack to fit both 1-1/4" and 2" hitch receivers. This bolstered steel rack is easy to use, and it features locking frame hooks and heavy-duty wheel holders with welded gussets to reinforce the rack so that it can handle the extra weight of your electric bikes.

Locking, Ratcheting Hooks

1450E hooks

Constructed of rugged steel with a sleek black powder coat finish, the Sport Rider SE2 uses locking frame hooks to secure your bikes. The ratcheting hooks are easily adjusted along the vertical mast and lock securely in place. The push buttons allow the hooks to slide up the ratcheting system to allow for bike removal. The lock cores keep the hooks from being moved up or down on the mast to deter theft. The hooks are different sizes and each one functions independently, meaning the rack can carry 2 bikes of the same or different heights.

Adjustable Wheel Holders

1450E Wheel Holders

The wheel holders accommodate bicycles with wheelbases up to 58", and you can adjust the wheel hoops by sliding them along the horizontal arms. They are secured in place with hand knobs. Velcro-like hook-and-loop straps secure your bike's wheels to the holders.

Folding, Tilting Design

The rack tilts, with or without bikes loaded, for easy access to your vehicle's rear cargo area. Simply remove the pivot pin, pull the bottom quick-release spring pin, and lower the rack.

The rack also folds up against the back of your vehicle when it's not in use. To raise the rack, just pull the upper quick-release spring pin and lift.

Easy Installation with Locking Hitch Pin

The Sport Rider SE2 easily installs in your hitch with the included locking hitch pin. Just slide the shank into your receiver, insert the hitch pin, and then tighten it down with the included tool. The pin also works as an anti-wobble device to eliminate sway and rattle in the receiver. The frame hook locks and the hitch lock are conveniently keyed alike.

A removable adapter sleeve is included so the rack can be converted for use with 1-1/4" hitch receivers. The sleeve attaches to the shank with a single screw and can be installed or removed quickly.

Add-On Wheel Hoop Adapters for Kid's Bikes

 Hollywood Racks Wheel Hoop Adapters

If you want to use the rack to transport a kid's bike with 16" or 18" wheels, wheel hoop adapters (HRSW-ADP-2 - sold separately) are available.

Video Transcript for Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 Bike Rack Review

Hey guys, today we're going to be checking out the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 electric bike rack. I've already got it loaded up here just to give you a good picture of what it looks like with bikes loaded. Now tough this may look like a standard bike rack, it's not. It's made out of a heavier duty construction with welded gussets to support the extra weight of electric bikes. I've got an electric bike loaded up right here, and I've got a standard mountain bike here at the front, but it's also going to work with your women's and children's bikes and bikes of alternative frame styles. Now other than the fact that it's made to support those electric bikes, it's pretty much going to operate the same way as any other premium platform style bike rack out there. And what I mean by that is we're going to be able to tilt it away to gain access to our rear hatch. The way that's done is you want to remove the snapper pin here at the bottom.

In order to easily get this out, you want to pick up on the bike rack just slightly so we can pull that out and then we'll pull out the quick release pin and then tilt it away. From there you can see it's going to give us more than enough room to swing open that rear hatch without it coming in contact with our handlebars. Now this could vary depending on what style of vehicle or what bikes you might be carrying. Now when it comes to raising it back up, remember it can be a bit heavy because we're carrying electric bikes, so if you needed an extra set of hands, go ahead and get those. But what I like to do is pick up on the hook itself, raise it back in until that quick release pin auto engages. From there we'll just need to install the snapper pin.

And again, picking up on the rear of the bike, sliding that in is a lot easier. When we get to the trails our bikes are pretty easy to remove. We've got a frame hook going over our top tube and then we've got two hook and loop straps keeping our wheels into the wheel cradles. Not a bad way to support and transport your bikes. You can see they're not going anywhere. We can rest assured they will be safe. Now that frame hook is rubber coated so that way it doesn't harm or scratch the finish of our top tube and it's also lockable.

That way no one can remove our bikes. We can leave the whole bike rack and our bikes on attended. That's going to be located just right here. Four keys are included. Once we've got it unlocked, simply press in and raise it up.

It ratchets down to keep your bikes in place. There's no need to push down on that. Once it makes contact with that top tube, your bike is going to remain in place. When it comes to taking them off, you'll of course want to undo the hook and loop strap first. Make sure your frame hook is unlocked when you press on the button and raise it up. Then we can just take our bike off. Before we remove the next bike, there's a bit more to it. I do however, want to mention that if you are carrying electric bikes, Hollywood Racks recommends that you do not transport the bike with the battery installed. You can see I've already taken off mine, so we're all set. You'll want to be sure that your hook and loop straps are already undone. The first way is we can raise up our frame hooks just like we did with the first bike and try to fumble around with getting our bike off. Now depending on with how much room we have between our bike rack and our vehicle, this can be a bit difficult. As you can see with where it's positioned, I would have to either lift it out this way. I suppose I could lift it straight up, but since it's an electric bike, it's heavy. So what we can do instead is we can take a Phillips head screwdriver, remove the Phillips head screw from behind the center mast here, and then completely remove the frame hooks. From here it gives us a little bit more room or we could get a little bit more, pull the pin at the bottom of center mast and then just lift it straight off. I can honestly say is this whole lot easier with an electric bike with it being heavy than having to lift it over the bike rack. Now if you'd like to reinstall your frame hooks under the center mast, you can do so or you can leave them off for next time. Some people like to stow them in the rear hatch. Now that center mast only folds down to the right. So if you choose to load or unload your bikes with this method, you'll want to be sure that the first bike here, the pedals are on the left side. That way when you go to fold it down, it doesn't make contact. You can fold it down all the way. So just a quick note there. Now when your bike rack is not in use, you'll want to use the pin here to lock it in this position. That way you can then fold the whole bike rack up against your vehicle. And to do that you want to pull out on the quick release pin here, and fold it up until it snaps in. This is going to give you more clearance maybe for when parking or pulling in your garage. With it folded up, I'd like to point out the welded gussets underneath the wheel cradles. This is what gives them the extra support to carry those electric bikes.Further down here at the bottom, it's going to work with inch and a quarter or two inch receivers. If you're using inch and a quarter, it needs to be class two. It includes a sleeve to allow it to work with a two inch receiver. You can see here how the shank is an inch and a quarter. Once that sleeve goes on, it'll slide right into that two inch by two inch receiver. I'm gonna go ahead and show you that. Now lock it. I'm going to use a three quarter inch wrench to loosen it up. Now you'll notice that it has an anti rattle bolt. That's this threaded bolt here that I'm removing. Once this is tightened up, it's going to reduce all that play and rattle within the receiver tube and the bike rack. You can see with it loosened up, there's a lot of play there. Take it all the way out so I can show you that sleeve and that's going to be right there. When you're ready to use it with an inch and a quarter, you remove the Phillips head screw from this side and it just slides right off, and you line it up into your inch and a quarter receiver, just like any other receiver tube with the hitch pin hole. Before we finish up, I'd like to point out a few more features. All of the cradles on the platform are adjustable to work with bikes with different size wheel bases. To do so, you'll simply loosen up the knob here, and we can push it out or move it in. Once we've got it in place, just tighten it back up. Now all of the cradles will work with tire widths up to three inches wide. If you're interested in carrying a fat bike with tires up to five inches wide, we do sell the fat bike cradles here at etrailer.com. So if that's something you're interested in, see etrailer.com.From the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the rack is going to be about nine inches. From the center of that hitch pin hole to the end of the rack is about 28 and a half inches. With it folded up, we'll take those same measurements. Center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the rack is about six and a half inches. Center of the hitch pin hole to the end of the rack is about 14 and three quarters of an inch. One last thing that Hollywood Racks includes is an eight foot cable lock. This is going to further prevent anyone from taking our setup. This is our test course. Let's start with the slalom. This shows side to side action such as turning corners or evasive maneuvering. Then onto our solid speed bumps. This is gonna show an up and down action, such as pulling in and out of a driveway or out of a parking lot. And then finally onto our alternating speed bumps. This is going to show a twisting action, such as going over potholes or uneven pavement. But other than that, that's going to complete our look at the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 electric bike rack.

The Hollywood bike rack was shipped the day I ordered it and it got to AZ in 3 days. It was easy to assemble as instructions were easy to follow. I'm waiting to get the hitch on the car. I can't wait to use it. Great company. 736185

Excellent product. Small issue with releasing one of the hold down arms. Even with no pressure, release would not work. Found if I inserted the key, and jiggled, was then able to release. Have now used it twice and love it. 721210

We just purchased new electric bikes and are looking forward to riding them on the fabulous AZ terrain. The carrier was recommended to us by friends who are avid riders, and have a lot of experience moving their bikes. I want to comment on the incredible service of this company. I was not successful in tracking my package, so I called the company for assistance. Immediately, the representative said, I can help, no putting on hold, no delays looking for my account, but a swift, professional answer to my question in a friendly, positive manner. One of the better customer service experiences I have had in a long time.. THANK YOU! 732302

We bought two electric bikes last year and I was concerned about using a standard bike carrier for the heavier bikes. This one has worked well. I’ve used it with a 2 inch hitch receiver on my van and the smaller hitch receiver on my silly little Toyota Yaris. I like the versatility. I have also purchased the add-on to haul up to 4 ebikes, since I’ve bought more for the family. 673752

Haven't really given it a good test yet so I'm only giving 4 stars. I needed an E-bike rack for a 1 1/4 inch hitch. This is the best one I found. Very solid. Issues? 1. It's very heavy. 2. You'll have to purchase a cross-bar adapter for a woman's bike. 673437

Received delivery today (6/17/19) and proceeded to uncrate the bike rack. Although I have not yet installed it, I can attest to the quality of construction (VERY substantial), and attention to detail. I have read the instructions, and they are perfectly clear. I researched numerous racks and this clearly stood out as what I needed. I am not disappointed, and would highly recommend this rack for anyone needing a bike rack that is undoubtedly a piece of equipment that will not fail, and will provide years of service. 659405

well, finally! A fat bike compatible bike rack that has built in locks and a low mount so i don't have to kill myself lifting this heavy ass ebike 3 1/2 feet off the earth to hang it up on a rack! i got a cheap version of this one, for regular tires, at walmart on black friday... no locks & not fat bike compatible. 100$ we'll see how this compares... 737987

This trike carrier has good features. I like that it has a lock for the connection to the hitch. Also the cable lock to secure my trike to the carrier and eliminate any possibility of theft. My standard adult trike fits it nicely. The frame is heavy duty. 159665

Review from a similar Sport Rider SE2 in Hitch Bike Racks

Bought this Hollywood Sport Rider SE2 for 2 electric bikes, which are heavier than regular bikes. I am very impressed with the quality built into this rack. This design is a heavy-duty bike rack built to house the tires/wheels of the bikes and then a vertical rod with hooks to keep the bikes upright. This design is easier for loading heavy bikes than the racks that support a bike’s top bar, which requires a long, heavy lift. This rack is also easy to attach to the 2” trailer hitch receiver on our 2017 Ford C-Max Energi. 732973

This is sturdy well designed bike rack, Cargo carrier combo! We used camping across the United States and it served us well. Our bikes were very secure and the cargo carrier gave us extra room for carrying firewood, coolers etc. 501208

Assembly (solo) was easy. Purchased this heavier duty model because I have two electric bikes as well as a mountain bike. Liked the idea of the attachable basket. Have not tried out on long haul but so far so good. Very secure and sturdy. 485504

The rack holds our bikes rock steady. My only complaints are that is very heavy, and must removed from our Subaru Forester, or tailgate can't be opened. If that bother you, the rack is great. It's the ONLY rack that will carry a recumbent trike, and a road bike, on the back of a car. 203307

Comments
I still like the rack, though we got rid of the car with the hitch. We need to install a trailer hitch on the new car. My only complaints about the rack itself are that it is extremely heavy, and the recumbent portion of the rack makes it impossible to open the liftgate with rack in place.

This might be somewhat premature, but if I don't write it now, I won't write one at all. I noticed there are many complaints about assembly instructions. I wonder if they recently got someone to rewrite these because, even though I'm not a genius, I thought they were some of the best instructions I have ever seen. The one trick I would recommend is to tear off the "Parts Included" sheet and place it side-by-side with the instructions because the instructions constantly refer to part numbers and the parts themselves are unlabeled - you need a quick reference. Uninitiated, it took me 30 minutes; if doing it a second time, it would take half that. As for quality and materials, parts are all snug and tight and properly aligned (as a rule, I am generally ready with my drill to "fix" all the items that fail to line up). If this was a car, I would call it excellent fit and finish. It is as heavy-duty as most buyers state and I expect it to last a very long time. All adjustable parts are readily adjustable and lock down very tight and secure. I really like the design, which seems very well thought-out. And this is from one who constantly grouses about why they hire such stupid people to design things. As of this writing, I am thrilled and 100% certain we made the right choice to carry my wife's 65 lb electric along with my own standard model. Happy trails! 198390

I did a lot of research looking for the right bike rack that would hold 2 e bikes securely. The bikes have fenders, so a lot of the other brands wouldn't work where the hook grabs the front tire. This rack is great. Well built, solid and easily holds our 2 e bikes. Great features on the rack as well, tilt and no wobble, along with the locks and cable. Instructions were good and an easy project to put the rack together. Rack was shipped in a good protective box and arrived on time. 495795

Review from a similar Sport Rider SE2 in Hitch Bike Racks

etrailer.com had exactly the bike rack we needed in stock and at the best price. They expedited the shipping for a small extra expense and we received the bike rack just 2 days later. Everything was complete and in perfect condition. Assembly is a bit challenging because this is a combination of a regular 2 bike rack with an extension to replace one bike rack with a trike (tadpole) rack. So there are two sets of instructions, and you don't follow all of the steps in the first set. My advice is to find the video on youtube which takes you through it step by step. This is better than the written instructions. The rack is heavy but not unreasonably so. It is a two person operation to put it on the receiver hitch, but it is not difficult. Once installed, it is easy to put the bike and trike on the rack and clamp them down. The rack comes with a lock for the hitch, a locking cable for the bike/trike, and a lock on the clamp down on the center pole. All of the locks open with the same key. Four sets of keys were provided. I don't think we could have asked for more. 646584

Owned my Hollywood bike rack for a year now and hands down this is one solid unit.--has many adjustments for small and large bicycles .---The easy on and off clamps are failsafe.---The fold-up locking pins are a cinch while folding the rack into a smaller footprint.---- The included bike and hitch locks are a real plus and the built in hitch clamp removes 100% of rack sway. Overall a high quality rack for a real fair price.----Gordon Lehman 576997

This is very well engineered. Lots of thought put into design. No wobble. We have an ebike & regular bike. We take the battery off the ebike when we transport the bikes. The rack folds up against the SUV when not in use. Very happy with this rack. 565795

Review from a similar Sport Rider SE2 in Hitch Bike Racks

It is definitely the best bike rack I've had to date, it has surpassed my expectations. I say that because I know some folks with platform racks that look great and are lighter, but are also much more expensive, but what sold me on this particular model is the fact that it is the only one (that I found) that comes with a cargo tray option. It took a little effort to assemble, but once it was ready to be hooked to my hitch, all I had to do was adjust the wheel holders to match the length of my bicycles thereafter, it was a breeze to load and unload them. On my latest camping trip, the additional room the cargo tray provided, eliminated the need to load all the camping gear inside my vehicle, I couldn't believe I was able to fit all that stuff on the cargo tray! A word of caution; At the time I got this rack and tray combo, my SUV was on the shop I could not wait to put it to use, so I hooked it to my tiny car, loaded with 2 bikes, the tray plus cargo and it got really heavy, and though it worked as intended, my little car was really low to the ground... For that reason I would definitely caution against using it fully loaded (as I did) on a subcompact car! :-) however, the bike rack alone works great on the tiny car! needless to say if I need to use the cargo tray with it, I definitely stick to my SUV! Overall and for the price, it really is an excellent product and I would highly recommend it! 681334

All of the hitches available for that vehicle like part # C11381 are class I hitches so the Hollywood Rack Sport Rider part # HR1460Z-E is not compatible because it is only compatible with Class II and Class III hitches. I recommend to use the Saris Freedom EX 2 Bike Platform Rack part # SA4412F for your 2 e-bikes on the BMW Class I hitch. It can handle 60 lbs per bike...

  • E-Bike Rack Recommendation for 1-1/4 inch Hitch for Bikes that Weigh 70 lbs
We do have e-bike racks that have the capacity needed for your 70 lb bikes and can fit the 1-1/4 inch hitch size like you have with the Hollywood Racks E-Bike rack # HR1460Z-E but there won't be a way to add an e-bike rack to the cargo carrier you have now. The # HR1460Z-E is a really great solution for you and has an 80 lb per bike capacity which is the highest weight rating for an e-bike rack that we offer. I attached a review video for more info on this rack as well.

  • Best Bike Rack for E-Bike with Fenders
I do have an option for you but since your e-bike has fenders, the Thule T1 1-Bike Platform Rack part # TH9041 will not work for you. Instead, I recommend the Rola Convoy 1 Bike Platform Rack part # 59307 which can be used as a frame mount bike rack and has a 50 lb weight capacity. The Convoy has a tilting feature that will allow for access to the rear cargo area without having to remove the rack and it comes with a five year warranty. I have attached a review video for you as well.

  • Recommended Hitch Mounted Bike Rack for RadCity Step-Thru Electric Commuter Bike
The Saris Freedom 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # SA4412B is compatible with bikes up to 60 lbs. Unfortunately your bike is just over that, so I recommend the Thule EasyFold XT 2 Electric Bike Platform Rack # TH903202 which is compatible with bikes up to 65 lbs and will not require any adapter bar. This will fully secure your bike by the frame and allow you to easily load your bike as well. It has many features the other bike carriers do not, so I've attached...

  • Can the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider 2 Bike Rack for Fat Bikes part # HR200Z-FB work for an E Bike?
I do have a good solution but the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider 2 Bike Rack for Fat Bikes part # HR200Z-FB is not recommended for electric bikes. The Rad Rovers you have weigh in at about 67 lbs with the battery and even with removing the batteries which is recommended during transport you will still be over the 45 lbs. per bike max weight of the rack. Instead you want the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 2 Electric Bike Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches part # HR1460Z-E this one is designed...

  • Availability of Bike Rack with Ramp to Carry 75 lb E-Bike
The bike rack with the highest weight capacity that has a ramp that can be utilized is the Thule EasyFold XT # TH903202 but it can only handle up to 65 lb E-Bikes and I'm not sure if you'd be able to get your bike down that low. We do have the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 # HR1460Z-E which would be able to carry your 75 lb E-Bike but this doesn't have a ramp so you'd have to muscle the bike up to the bike rack. Because of this, the best option for your application is to use a motorcycle...

  • Can Sport Rider SE2 Bike Rack be Used in a Class II Hitch with an Adapter
The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2, part # HR1450Z-E, is only designed for 2 inch trailer hitches and the manufacturer does not recommend using an adapter. Adapters normally aren't a good idea with hitch carriers because your tongue weight is reduced by 50 percent. This often makes the weight of the bikes and rack too much for the hitch. Even if you don't exceed the tongue weight rating you're still putting extra stress on the components which is better to avoid when possible. Instead...

  • Recommended Bike Rack for Beach Cruiser With Fenders
There is a great bike rack available that will allow you to carry a beach cruiser with fenders but the Thule T2 Classic 2 Bike Platform Rack # TH9045 is a wheel-mounted rack so it is not compatible with a bike that has fenders. I recommend checking out the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 # HR1460Z-E, which will work so long as you have at least a Class II 1-1/4 inch receiver. This rack will work with a beach cruiser that has fenders because it is a frame-mounted bike rack that uses padded...

  • Recommended Bike Rack for Kids Bike with 16 Wheels
The RockyMounts MonoRail 2 Bike Platform Rack # RKY10003 that you referenced is a great bike rack but it can only accommodate wheel diameters between 20" - 29" so we'll need to find you a different bike rack that is compatible with your kids bike that has 16" wheels. A similar option that will accommodate the smaller wheel size (if the second bike has a similar wheelbase) is the Saris SuperClamp EX 2 Bike Platform Rack # SA4025F. This has a slightly different design but the same features...

  • Is RockyMounts MonoRail Compatible with E-Bike That Has Fenders
We do have bike racks for your application but since the RockyMounts MonoRail 2 Bike Platform Rack # RKY10003 secures bikes by the wheel the ratcheting arm need to rest right where front fender is located. Instead you need to use a bike rack that secures the bike by the frame. We have 2 different styles in the same price-range as the MonoRail with the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 # HR1460Z-E and the Saris Freedom # SA4412B-R. The Sport Rider SE2 uses the same type of ratcheting arm...
