Rotating Arms with Ratcheting Hooks

Kuat Transfer V2 ratcheting hooks

The Transfer V2 has ratcheting hooks that grab your bikes firmly by the front wheel - not the frame. It's perfect for carrying carbon bikes or bikes with a custom paint job. To load a bike, simply place your front wheel in the cradle, rotate the arm up and over the wheel, and press down firmly on the ratcheting hook.

Front-Wheel Cradles with Adjustable Pitch

Kuat Transfer V2 front wheel cradles

In its upright position the front cradles sit at the optimal position for holding normal-size bikes. However, you can adjust the cradles so that smaller bikes sit more toward the center of the rack or to prevent bikes from bumping into each other. To adjust the pitch, use the included Allen key to flip the bolt locator tabs upside down.

Pivoting Rear-Wheel Cradles

Kuat Transfer V2 rear wheel cradle

The rear wheel cradles accommodate a wide variety of bike wheelbases. They pivot front to back, adjusting automatically to each bike's wheelbase - no need for sliding and tightening. Secure the wheels in place with the built-in ratcheting strap. Strap extenders (sold separately) let you carry fat bikes.

U-Shape Frame

Kuat Transfer V2 U-shape base

Most platform-style racks force you to reach out and over the rack to load your bikes or walk around to the back of the rack to access the bike closest to your vehicle. The U-shaped frame allows you to walk inside the rack and get close to your bikes to lift them. Also, it won't block your backup camera when it's folded up.

Foot Lever for Easy Tilting and Folding

Kuat Transfer V2 foot lever

The spring-loaded foot lever is easily accessible even with your bikes loaded. No more crawling through your bikes or squeezing between the rack and the vehicle to hit the tilt release lever.

Kuat Transfer V2 tilting rackKuat Transfer V2 folding rack

The foot lever lets you tilt the rack down with bikes loaded for cargo area access. It leaves both hands free so that you can lower the rack in a controlled manner. When the rack is unloaded you can fold it up for storage.

Easy Installation

Kuat Transfer V2 complete security

The rack is easy to install. Just slide the shank into your hitch and use the included 8-mm Allen wrench to tighten the flatlock cam. An anti-rattle wedge is deployed inside the shank to help take play out of the hitch connection.

Complete Security for Bikes and Rack

Kuat Transfer V2 indentation

The Allen wrench has an indentation, so it can only be used with the Transfer. This helps keep the rack secure on your vehicle. You'll need to store it in a safe place because you'll need it when you want to remove the rack. You can also use a locking hitch pin (sold separately) for extra rack security.

Kuat Transfer V2 integrated cable lock

The Transfer also includes a cable lock that secures your bikes to the rack. The 1/4" thick, braided steel cable threads through your bike's frames, and locks back into the rack.

I just built and installed my rack yesterday and I absolutely love it. I drove with it on today (no bikes), amazed that there was no rattle. Tomorrow I do plan to carry a bike to see how that feels. The quality of the product exceeded my expectations! Great value for the price and if this is Kuats Entry Level model, it is worth every penny!

by:

I have the 2-bike rack, with the 1-bike rack add........so 3 bikes total. Overall very satisfied. Adding the extra single rack did make things a little more cumbersome (reach to load and reach to lower) and added a bit of weight. But still manageable. With just the 2.....no problem at all.

by:

Extremely fast shipping! I've only had it for a few weeks but so far everything is as advertised! I'm extremely satisfied with my experience as a whole with etrailer and would not hesitate to order from again.

by:

The Kurt Transfer V2 Bike Rack allows me to travel confidently with my e-bike. The rack provides a secure ride for the bike and easily handles the weight of the bike(s) and fatter tires.

by:

Bike rack arrived from the carrier in a damaged box so we did spray paint the area that has scratches, but no structural damage was done. It fits my RAV4 perfectly. Also, I am short and being able to tilt toward me and put my bike on makes it so much easier when I am out riding solo. It's easy to secure even though it feels like it wobbles.. the bike isn't going anywhere. We really like the pedal that allows you to tile the rack and be able to get in the back of the car.

by:

This bike rack is great. Two things: it folds up to a pretty slim profile and it’s well made. That said I had trouble getting the first front wheel holder to go on. The inside and outside holes in the frame were not aligned so you couldn’t get the bolt to pass through so I ended up enlarging the outside hole enough to allow the bolt to go through straight and the rest was painless! Another nice point are the tools: they’re actually good enough to keep! This is my second Kuat bike rack and they really handle bikes well. The tilt works great, too. Overall, it’s great pick!

by:

I've just installed my Kuat Transfer V2 and the fact I can easily access the back of my Dodge Caravan with the goal post design, which I think very clever is awesome. The cam lever when tightened with the special allen wrench makes for a very solid fit into the receiver hitch of my van. It looks and feels solid and is easy to use.

by:

Took about an hour to assemble with clear instructions. Both bikes loaded easily Lock cable was long enough to catch bikes and a safety chain ring on car hitch.

by:

I love this bike rack . It fits great on my Dodge Ram 2500 I can tilt it to use the bed of the truck and it’s not in the way . Great product and easy to use! Thank you

by:

Very happy with the sturdiness of the bike rack. Purchased for cruiser bikes now and e-bikes in the future. Would definitely recommend this product and trailer!

by:

Came when expected. Box was beat up but because all was packed very well all parts were perfect and all were there ready to assemble. Follow the instructions and all went smoothly. Impressed with quality and finish. Holds two step thru eBikes without any movement when all adjustments made properly. Would definitely recommend if you don’t want to pay for premium name units.

by:

This is the second Kuat V2 I am purchasing. The other is for a friend the quality is top notch. Ease of loading and unloading bikes is a breeze. The anti-rattle works like a charm. My only issue is when I drop my tailgate on my 2020 Tacoma, the inboard front wheel carrier touches the tailgate therefore I need to remove the rack if I were to go around with the tailgate open.

by:

I was able to assemble and mount the rack with no issues. It is light enough to handle by myself and I really like the pedal release for hatchback doors.

by:

I recently purchase the KUAT V2 Transfer platform bike rack for a 2 inch hitch and and was very pleased with the transaction through Etrailer. The documentation on the website for guidance was very helpful and the delivery updates made the process easy. So far, the bike rack seems to perform as advertised and seems very sturdy and easy to use. Just what I wanted !

by:

Unlike other trips with my old rack, when we reached our destination, I was pleasantly surprised that bikes were in the exact same position as when we started! Love the simplicity of loading and unloading

by:

Easy to assemble.

by:

Awesome bike rack!

by:

Very impressed with the quality of this bike rack. The instructions are excellent and easy to follow. All tools installation tools are included. I'm very satisfied and would purchase again.

by:

I'm giving it an excellent rating even though I haven't used it yet. I've already got it put together and it seems extremely sturdy, and has a lot of nice features.

by:

Superb packaging....excellent instructions.....already road tripped with A+ performance.......thanks to all.

Wonderful service, seamless order and deliver, great website and product selection!

  • Will Kuat Transfer V2 Folded Allow Backup Camera of 2021 Toyota RAV4 to Function
With the Kuat Transfer V2 part # KU84FR folded up and installed in the hitch of your 2021 Toyota RAV4 you'd still be able to see behind you through the backup camera. This is such a minimalistic bike rack that has a wide U-shape when folded up that you'd be able to see right down the middle without much issue at all.

The # KU24FR three bike version of the Küat Transfer V2 has a weight capacity of 40 lbs per bike. As you mentioned, the 2 bike version, part # KU84FR has a 60 lb per bike capacity. The Transfer is an excellent bike rack. The U-shaped frame is my favorite feature, it allows you to stand much closer to the rear of the vehicle when loading the inner-most bike onto the rack, which makes it much easier on your back. The rack includes a cable lock for securing the bikes to the rack. If you...

  • Is There a Difference Between Anti Rattle Device of Kuat Transfer V2 2 inch Hitch Models
Both the Kuat Transfer V2 for 2 inch hitches # KU84FR and the version that fits both the 2 inch and 1-1/4 inch part # KU74FR use a similar type of wedge anti-rattle device that pushes out against the hitch tube to reduce movement and create stability. The difference between the two styles is just due to the size of the shank and the available room for the mechanism to work. Either style works just as well.
