Used 2 of the Drop Leg Stabilizer's to support the front of a Limb Clipper. When I detached it from my JD it would twist to the side and make it difficult to hook up. NOW it stays straight and attaches easily !

by:

Simple to mount and easy to adjust. I installed 4 on a trailer being used for a Mobile Hunting Blind.
The stabilizers will allow me to pull this trailer just about any location and level it making it safe and more functional. Great product.

by:

Installed a set on my trailer years ago so I can load heavy lawn mowers safely. Bought a set for a friend's trailer for the same reason. Too bad I had to wait months for them to be in stock again. Since I weld, these work well for me, all trailers are different and each needs special mounts. The outer tube could be longer and thicker because most trailers (that can benefit from these) are about 15 inches off the ground. If I'm not hauling stuff, I can drop the legs and use the trailer as a steady work space. A suggestion, make sure the trailer is mounted to its truck so you can install these so the holes line up when the trailer is level. Make sure the trailer is on level ground, not a sloping garage floor.

I rebuild trailers, people love these things

Great company to work with from ordering to delivery. After I made the initial order, they reach out to me about only having one stabilizer jack in stock and the other one would be on back order. They gave me other options if I did not want to wait. I chose to wait for the other jack to come in. They advised me that it would be the end of June. They immediately reached out to me in the end of June to inform me that they were still waiting on the supplier and that it would now be the first of August. I received and email on July 21st that the order was filled and will be shipped. I received the order on July 24th. I did find the same stabilizer jacks on other websites but they were twice as much and shipping was also more. It was worth the wait to save money to me. The jacks are well made and will work great on the rear of the trailer. I have previously used car jacks to keep my trailer secure. Now I don't have to haul around car jacks. I had the stabilizer jacks welded on by a local business. They did an outstanding job securing the jacks on the rear of the trailer. They work better than expected. Should have done this a long time ago. Now I can load equipment without my truck being connected to the trailer. I will be using etrailer for all my trailer needs. Great company to work with and customer service. I have attached a few pictures.

They are still working out great. After a year they function the same as the day that they were installed. No rust or any other defects after a year. It is nice to load and unload equipment or other items with it being my trailer being connected to my truck. Again I should have done this a long time ago. Great company.

by:

Excellent product and service. Joshua helped me with my order and between us we figured what I purchased was a perfect fit.

I have already mounted the stabilizers to the trailer I have made and I know they will perform exactly in the manner I had hoped for.

by:

They have performed as expected. For many applications, I can see where they would not be sufficient as a stabilizer jack because they don't really give any fine control for leveling unless you're using shims under them which would be very time consuming. For my application, I ONLY needed to stabilize my trailer so they have worked fine. .

by:

Very happy with the jacks. Just what I needed to stabilizer the rear of my 16' flat bed trailer when I load my tractor.

by:

I welded these to my flatbed equipment trailer I drop them to support the trailer while loading my mini excavator. Without them I lift the rear of the truck way too much, with them the truck doesn’t move. Great product

by:

Wonderful service! We had been working with a local parts dealer trying to find these exact legs, only to have been waiting for months. So I took over and found etrailer. I ordered them and they were shipped within 3 hours and I received them the next day. Exactly what we needed and we are able to now meet the deadline our customer requested! Pricing was amazing, communication was amazing, we'll be ordering again & again!

by:

Simple and affective I have them on the rear of my low boy to keep the trailer from squatting and raising the truck up when loading a heavy tractor and used 2 on three point implements that didnt come with parking stands

by:

Fantastic shipping speed wow free upgrade and excellent product quality can't wait to install onto my trailer

These stabilizers were used on all 4 corners of my trailer mounted hunting blind. Once set for use the trailerblind remains firm with no shake.

by:

i’m very happy with the quality of the jack. The price was also very reasonable.

by:

Works fantastic for the small ATV trailer I have. Receiver was an easy weld. Easy clean up and paint.

by:

Exactly what I was looking for. Great quality, and shipped out fast. Had it installed ,start to finish, in about an hour.

by:

Well built and perfect to stabilize rear of utility trailer for loading.

by:

Great product. I couldn't buy the materials and make it myself for that price!

Fantastic product! Highly recommend

by:

i like it. good quality for great price. as usual etrailer has fast shipping.

by:

Decent inexpensive solution for loading jacks.
Finish is rough around the edges and not deburred very well.
I wish the came with plastic plugs for the top of the inner piece both because it is sharp and in my application it would keep from banging my trailer when stowing.

Didn’t really work out on my utility trailer for loading garden tractors. I’d try and leave 2-3” between the foot and ground then run my tractor up the ramp. Most of the time this worked but fairly often the foot would end up carrying some weight making it impossible to retract without either unloading or getting a floor jack. Swing down adjustable jacks are a better choice.

by:

Great product and great price!

by:

Well made. Exactly what I needed for my project of installing a landing leg on my three point grader blade attachment.

by:

Arrived perfect, just what I needed, a great product,

@Warren That's great to hear, thanks!

by:

I used these (cut down in length) to support the front half of a fold out couch/bed. Works great.

by:

As usual, Etrailer delivered a quality product at a very fair price.
I’ve ordered several times and will continue to use them. Their customer service is second to none.

by:

I'm sure most of us have seen or heard about people attempting to load a utility trailer that was unhitched and watched the tongue of the trailer go flying skyward and dumping the people and or the load? For years i got by with a couple of logs that i cut to proper length and used them to brace the rear of the trailer while moving loads on or off while it was unhitched. Logs aren't exactly convenient to travel with, they look ghetto and are heavy and take up space.

After looking around for a while, i finally welded two of these on either side of the rear frame of my 12' utility/landscape trailer. They serve as an excellent stabilizer and allows me to load or unload the trailer without being hooked up to the truck. I can drop the trailer off at a job site and it can be loaded without keeping a truck attached. Obviously be careful and chock the tires and please don't doing this on a hill.

I start off by lowering the front jack slightly, set these stabilizers and then raising the front jack back up slightly until they make contact in the rear.

By lowering the front jack all the way and setting the rear stabilizers on the lowest pin setting available, i can actually pull the tires several inches off the ground. Convenient if you need to change a tire or service a hub.

Another perceived benefit is when storing the trailer it will keep the tires off the ground if i chose to.

Etrailer has been great. The shipping was fast and they include very detailed specs and measurements on every product they sell.

  • Where is the Square Drop Leg Stabilizer Jack - 18" Travel - 2,000 lbs Made
The Square Drop Leg Stabilizer Jack part # SJ-R208 is made overseas but it does have a warranty so if there were any issues with this product you'd be covered. That said, there really isn't much that could fail on the stabilizer so how it's attached to the trailer is likely going to be the weak point. Unfortunately, we don't offer any domestically made stabilizer jacks in this style.

  • How To Attach The Square Drop Leg Stabilizer Jack # SJ-R208 To An Aluminum Trailer Frame
Since welding steel to aluminum can be a hassle the easiest option would be to get a steel plate that you could just bolt to the aluminum frame and welding the Square Drop Leg Stabilizer Jack # SJ-R208 to the steel plate. Other than that you'd be looking at a very expensive weld job using a dip-coating process.

  • Best Way to Stabilize Back of Trailer When Loading a Tractor
For your application I recommend installing the Square Drop Leg Stabilizer Jack # SJ-R208 which is a weld-on application that provides 18" of travel and a 2,000 lb weight capacity. To stabilize your trailer you basically need something to take up the space between the ground and your trailer frame which is what jacks are designed for. Anything else is meant just to stabilize a load or it would be something like load leveling blocks that you'd have to store and then place down prior to loading...

Great question. Without cutting a hole you wouldn't be able to get enough clearance for the jacks to work.
