Durable saddle-style kayak carriers are flexible and padded to prevent scuffs, scratches, or damage to your boat during transport. The high-grip, adjustable saddles stabilize your boat and prevent movement while traveling on uneven or rough terrain. Fabric covers on the rear saddles allow easy boat loading from the back of your trailer.
This versatile storage container conveniently stows your important cargo and slides out from between the crossbars for easy access to your gear. It has a removable lid with water-tight gasket to ensure your gear stays dry. A metal hinge and hasp is used to secure the lid to the container and can be used with a padlock (sold separately) to deter theft.
This lightweight wire storage basket is great for holding all your wet or dirty gear after a day on the water. The open mesh design allows your gear to dry while being stored. With a black powder coated finish, this container is durable and weather-resistant.
The DOT-approved tail lights on this trailer are fully submersible, so you don't have to worry about damaging the lights when loading and unloading your boat in water. Each tail light has brake, running light, and turn signal functions, as well as side marker lights and reflectors. In addition, these LED lights last longer, burn brighter, and require less power than incandescent bulbs.
The wiring for this trailer has a simple plug-and-play design, so it doesn't require any cutting or splicing to install. As you assemble the trailer, route the main wiring harness through the trailer tongue and down towards the body of the trailer. Then plug the 4-wire end of the tail light harness into the main harness.
Run the wires of the tail light harness along the sides of the trailer frame and plug the individual wires into the matching wires on the side marker lights and the tail lights. The wires are color-coded so that you can easily match them up - no circuit tester is required. Once all of the wires are plugged in, use the included clips to secure the harness to the frame.
When you're ready to connect the trailer to your vehicle, simply plug the trailer end of the main harness into the 4-way flat connector on your vehicle.
This trailer includes a leaf spring suspension system to limit road shock while you tow. A sturdy steel axle runs beneath the trailer frame. The 2 slipper springs that support the axle flex to absorb the rough motion that can occur when driving over bumpy terrain. Also, the axle, spring hangers, and tie plate are galvanized to resist rust and corrosion.
Hooking this trailer to your vehicle is quick and easy. The trailer's coupler connects to a 2" hitch ball, and the included safety chains act as an emergency measure if the coupler accidentally disconnects from your hitch ball. A rubber coated lift handle is mounted to the coupler to provide a solid grip for lifting or maneuvering the trailer. Finally, the skid plate on the underside of the trailer tongue keeps the coupler from touching the ground.
An easy-to-use manual crank jack allows you to raise or lower the coupler height for quick trailer adjustment. The jack comes with a swiveling wheel that rotates 360 degrees for full trailer control. A built-in handle twists and locks into place, folding the jack in a horizontal position against the tongue when not in use.

Hi, it's Evangeline from etrailer.com, and today, we are looking at our Malone MegaSport trailer for two kayaks with our saddle up pro kayak carriers. While this trailer can hold two kayaks, which I think is perfect for when my friend and I want to go out on a float trip. If you need to carry more kayaks, this also comes with a two-tier option, which also allows you to bring more stuff, more equipment, more kayaks, whatever you need to have the best time. Now what's great about this trailer is if you and your best friend, your buddy, your partner want to go out for a float trip. It has everything you need, with storage space and kayak carriers to have a great day, and also for such a sturdy carrier and trailer, this is actually pretty light, you can, if you need to, bring it into your garage, you can just unhitch it and lead it in by hand with no problem. Easy. Now we're driving out our trailer on our parking lot and test course, as you can see, it takes these turns very smoothly, unlike larger and longer trailers that might worry about swaying, this goes really well with our vehicle.
Now we're going over some bumps here so we can see the up and down action while it does wiggle around a little bit, it's very sturdy and stable going through these speed bumps. When you get near the water and you're ready to take your kayaks off, it's super simple. All you need to do is just release the straps. Just lift it up and away, with the kayaks off, let's take a look at the saddle up pro cradles right over here. So these actually come with a hook and loop strap at the back, which you can remove in order to take off this lining here, but we have it in place just to protect our kayaks, and because it looks good. These are also adjustable with knobs at the bottom.
So if you loosen the knots, you can then slide these cradles back and forth just to get the perfect fit. So if you have a larger kayak, you can slide it out, back towards the end. And if you have a smaller kayak, you can slide it up closer. So this MegaSport is designed with a full adventure in mind, which is why it has these two storage areas for you. You have this dry storage box and you have this wire cage. Now this cage has a powder coat finish in here, and we already have some stuff, our paddles inside, but you can see there's so much more space in here to load all the other things you need in there, like your life jackets or your other wet items that maybe you don't want in your truck.
And with this strap untied, you just lift up the top of this cage, just like that. So that lifts up, and you can port and store stuff inside your cage. It has a dry storage box. So to open this box, you just take out this carabiner here and lift it up. Now, another cool thing is that comes with some oversize wheels on each side.
And the purpose of that wheel is to pull it out. So if you want to pull it out and put your stuff in there, maybe your bags, your extra clothes, your books, whatever you need, that needs to stay dry and safe in here, can go in here. And there's so much space inside, as you can see for whatever you need for a great day. If you happen to get water, or if you spill something inside your dry storage box, that's perfectly fine because it comes with a drain. So all you need to do is just pick that out and the water can drain out of your box. So you don't have to worry about it being stuck in there. I'm really a big fan of the storage options this MegaSport comes with, because you have the wet storage area, you have the dry storage area. So when I get my clothes all wet, after a long trip out, then instead of like having it contained inside an area, I can let it air out in here. Also, if you're going out regularly, this is the best place to keep stocked up and packed. So all you really need to do is get home, hitch it up and you're ready to go for a great trip. Now, this MegaSport is mega sturdy with its steel construction. If you look here behind the wheel, it has these leaf springs in place and they are the suspension of the trailer. So it helps with dealing with bumps and I'm not heavy enough to make a difference, but they will help it with going up and down and just keeping everything stable. Now, the spender I'm leaning on, is made of galvanized steel, so it's really strong. You're not supposed to step on them, but it will support if you do need to lean on them a bit. And these tires here have a weight capacity of 1,650 pounds, which is more than enough capacity for your trailer here. So they're strong, they're sturdy, and they'll get you to where you need to be, as well as our trailer here, also made of galvanized steel with a weight capacity of a thousand pounds. So load it up with whatever you need. This trailer has a spare tire. So if you're out stranded, something happens and you're out by the side of the road and you don't have to leave a trip behind and look for some emergency help or another tire because your spare is right with you. So this mounts onto our trailer, and you can choose to get a lock that will, I recommend it if you want to keep your tire safe. So this goes in there and you can lock that just to keep it all secure. This trailer follows VOT and Canada lighting regulations. So on each side, on the back end, we have these lights and as well as this license plate, just to keep you legal on the road, underneath these lights, we also have a license plate light to see, to improve visibility. And we can also look at the side of the trailer, which has marker lights to improve visibility and keeping legal. After your kayak trip, when you drive home and you're ready to just put everything away. The first thing you need to do is to put down the jack. So with the jack down, I'm also going to take away these cables, get those out of the way, as well as unplug our inaudible 00:06:42 with all those out of the way, we can then lift it up from our ball mount. So to do so, press it and lift up just like that. And you're going to have to lower the jack so that it releases from the ball mount. So final thoughts about this trailer is I'm very impressed by how put together everything is, it has the cradles, it has all that great storage space and it's hatched very easily to our vehicle here. When I was driving around the parking lot, I really liked how smooth it was. And I really felt that my kayaks and my cargo was secure and safe on this trailer. So it's a pretty great trailer. And that was a look at the Malone MegaSport with saddle up pro cradles here at each trailer.

Heavy-duty trailer is great for hauling kayaks, canoes, and other gear. Saddle-style carriers hold your boat securely by the hull. Storage containers let you carry wet and dry gear separately. Marine-grade trailer supports boats up to 20' long.Trailer was easy to assemble and met or exceeded our expectations. Pulls well fully loaded with three Hobie kayaks and all our gear.
The MALONE trailer is fantastic. Far more robust than I was expecting. Having just retired with more time to paddle, I was tired of taking the boats on and off the roof all the time, especially my 18' rowing shell with seat inside. My wife was too short to load anything except on top of our smallest car.
We live on an island and next year I may start a small kayak touring venture. The trailer will be perfect.
My only comment to help you improve would be better instructions for the add-on rack kit. The trailer instructions were perfect.
I was tried of lifting kayaks onto our Toyota Highlander and the ladder rack on our Ford F-250 4X4 truck. While I am in good shape, after 66 years of use, I decided that a kayak trailer would be a better option than sore shoulders. A trailer would also allow us to haul additional kayaks for outings with friends and family. After weighing all the scenarios, I settled on the Malone Megasport. It arrived amazingly fast and after about 5 hours the trailer materialized our of the 7 boxes. The assembly was straightforward and the great videos on the etrailer website helped considerably. After assembly, registering the trailer with our DMV was painless. The trailer tows easily, our kayaks are secure and the storage trunk (additional purchase) is massive and stores our pfds and associated gear. I installed 2 Malone Downloader J-hook kayak racks and a Malone Seawing rack. If I need to haul a fourth kayak, I will install another Downloader. The Megasport has been a great investment! The customer service and follow up was also great! Thank you, Kaylyn R.!
The only suggestion I have is that the folks at Malone should include rubber grommets to protect the wiring as it threads through the frame. I bought and installed grommets myself but I think they should have been supplied by the manufacturer.
Received the kayak trailer in six boxes. Removed all the parts from the boxes and placed them on a large tarp in the order required by the instructions. I took my time putting the kayak trailer together since I am 80 years old and did not want to miss a step. I am very pleased with the results and I can load and unload my two kayaks easily
This trailer while functional, is not particularly user friendly. Thus far we have had 1 safety recall and 3 flat tires. I'd suggest adding lock tight to all of the provided nuts as an extra safety precaution as well otherwise they will rattle loose. The plates that hold up the branches need padding otherwise they cut into the kayaks when they are strapped in place. The license plate holder is also very low to the ground. My suggestion for anyone purchasing this is to drill holes into the back beam and make your own spot for the plate, otherwise it may get knocked off/ bent going over any bumps.
I've had the trailer for a year so far. I love it! Its light, easy to tow, and makes loading kayaks way easier than loading them on our car. Now, when we go kayaking, we regularly throw all our friends kayaks on the trailer too, makes pick ups at the end of a run way easier. I will never go back. We love this thing.
I love this trailer. it is perfect for my business. easy to set up, just takes time. sturdy. 10/10 recommend. the guys at etrailer are also top notch and will help you along the way and follow up on your needs well past the sale.
My trailer was on back order until the middle of October. But i got it on September 15 2020.I was very happy about that.Great customer service ! Love my new Malone Mega Sport trailer.Very well built !
The trailer works really well, light enough to maneuver by hand. It works with kayaks or canoes. I would pass on the cargo containers, everything in the metal one gets dirty and the plastic one is not dust proof or even rain proof.
Among the many sources for purchasing the trailer for my boat rental business, River house Boats in Rowlesburg, WV etrailer was straight forward about delivery and came through even before the projected delivery date. They have my highest rating! Tim Weaver, owner.
The trailer is working great!
Great product, great price and great customer service.
