Video Transcript for etrailer Scissor Stabilizer Jacks with Handle Review

Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the Scissor Stabilizer Jacks with Handle, part number TJSCHD-24. That's for a kit of two with the tool. If you'd like to pick the jacks up individually, you can pick them up with part number TJSC-24 or if you just need the tool you can pick that up, part number TJSC-24-HD.These jacks adjust from 5 to 23-3/4 of an inch to help you level and stabilize your trailer. They have a weight capacity of 5,000 pounds, that's 2,500 pounds per jack. However, keep in mind they're not designed to lift your trailer, just to level and stabilize. Not only can they be used for your travel trailer, but they're going to be great for horse trailers, fifth wheel trailers, and enclosed trailers.

They're manual jacks. The handle tool operates the drive nut, which allows you to raise and lower your jacks. The included handle tool is 27 inches long. It easily swivels so you can operate the jack from a safe distance. Now we're on fairly level ground, so we don't need to level our trailer, but we do need to stabilize it. We're going to simulate a family of four.

Come on in. Now, this is without our stabilizers engaged. Now, as you can see, between walking around and doing other things in the trailer, it's moving pretty good. Now with all of our jacks down, as you can see, it really tightens up the trailer and there's a lot less movement. When looking through some of our customer comments, one of our customer James B. says, "We installed these jacks on an older travel trailer that had been using only jack stands for stabilizing.

These we're simple to install and they operate flawlessly." One of our other customers Tom says, "Stabilizers are well constructed. These will add good stability for our RV." Customers on our site are comparing these to the Ultra-Fab Ultra Scissor Jacks, part number UF48-979002. These have a 24 inch lift and a 6,500 pound weight capacity for the pair. Now, when choosing a stabilizer jack it's important to know how much lift and weight capacity you'll need to support your trailer. There's no need to overspend. Now that we've gone over the features, I'll go ahead and show you how to get them installed.

Now, we're here at the front of the camper. You can use the same procedure to install them at the rear of the camper. We're going to head underneath. Now, on our jack there's a few different hole patterns. You'll want to use whatever works best for your camper. For us, we're going to be using the outside holes. What we want to do is get it lined up where we want, and then mark them out. Now, we're going to be mounting our scissor jack with some self tapping screws. That's how our old one was mounted and that's how most scissor jacks are mounted on travel trailers. To get it started, you can either drill a pilot hole through each one of your holes, or you can take the self tapping screw itself and get the hole started, whichever works best for you. You will have to provide your own hardware. Once you get it started, you can back it out and start on another one. I'm going to start two and then mount my jack. With two holes started, I'm going to take my scissor jack and put it in place. You will want to make sure that the drive nut is facing outward. I'm just going to hold it up, and then I'll finish up with my other two self tapping screws. With our last one in place, we can test it out. With this side being done and we know that it's working properly, you can repeat the same process on the opposite side. If you need to, you can pick up two for the rear, but then after that you're ready to level and stabilize your trailer. That's going to complete our look at the Scissor Stabilizer Jacks with Handle.

Its almost an identical replacement for our 2016 Heartland stabilizer jack. It mounts the same to the frame has the same size (3/4") jack screw. Slightly different cosmetically and has a 100lbs less lift capacity from the stock. 2500lbs vs. 2400lbs. 612883

These folks are terrific! This is my third order with them and I have been very impressed. Their website has videos on many of the products which are filled with details about product and product use. My only gripe is that if you want to return a product you have to pay for shipping. I understand this but it does make me think twice before ordering. I would recommend this business. 509948

This is a good quality jack, better than the one that was originally installed on my R-Pod. I selected this jack based on etrailer vehicle (RV) selection matrix. It wasn't an exact fit so I had to modify the trailer bracket to install this jack. 503176

I recently finished restoring a 1964 Impala SS that my Dad bought new when I was beginning high school. I didn't want to use the original bumper jack because of possible damage and scratches to the bumper. I bought this jack so that so that I could jack the car under the frame. I will have to make a little "U" shaped adapter to attach to the top of the jack, but it is going to work beautifully. Good, sturdy jack. 502364

Product was overrated. I was looking to replace a damaged "J-2500" off a Travel trailer. The "TJSC-24" body was made of thicker metal, equivalent to a "J-5000" jack. I removed the mount to accomplish my project. Mission completed. 391193

My enclosed car trailer had two of these installed from the factory to serve as supports for when a car is being loaded . Unfortuantely, I ripped one off of the bottom of the frame by going over a bump. Fortunately, etrailer.com has many of the parts that came on my trailer, including this one, which makes replacement fast and easy. This is an exact duplicate and will make repairing my trailer a snap. The price is right too! 362512

This trailer jack was manufactured with heavier materials than the one that came on the trailer when we purchased it. It is a much higher quality jack. In addition, we ordered it on line with regular shipping. We were notified that they expedited shipping with no extra charge to us. Ordered it on a Friday and had it on Monday. We will definitely order from etrailer in the future! 381834

This was a perfect replacement for a damaged jack. This is a quality product for a very fair price. This is not my first order with etrailer.com and will not be the last. Every product I have ordered is high quality and shipped quickly. I am never disappointed. 280919

I recently wrecked one of the jacks for my Coachmen trailer and wanted to replace it, and another one which had been bent slightly last year. I got a pair of jacks for what one would have cost at an RV dealer and had them zippo quick on my front porch. I went out and replaced them both in an hour (at my advanced age) with a wrench and a socket. As I had read in one review, I believe they are better quality than the ones the trailer came with. Thanks for great service and a quality in what you sell. 505411

Hello Etrailer Staff & Campers, I had to replace the two rear jacks on my 28' travel trailer. Trying to back up with the original jacks extended down bent them beyond use .......... Opps! The two new jacks that I ordered from Etrailer.com came early, priced right, and were actually made better than the "original factory" ones! Fellow Campers: 1) Always raise you jacks to the "full up-right" position when moving your trailer; 2) Keep in mind that these jacks are designed to "stabilize your trailer" and are not designed to "support" the entire weight of your unit ! 3) Don't forget to put a little grease on the screw shaft..makes them run smooooth! 524444

Identifying and ordering the correct part has always been easy with etrailer.com. The company’s continuous communication throughout the process is extremely helpful and the delivery happened exactly when the company said. Cathy T was most helpful with all my questions. I ordered the RAM 2,500 lbs. jacks to replace my OE jacks on my 2018 Sonic 200VML TT. My OE jacks BAL were poorly designed ,and cheaply manufactured using very thin materials (flimsy) , The RAM jacks use thicker materials ,and bolts in manufacture. RV does not wobble now. 577642

  • Smaller and lighter camper trailers like your R-Pod 180 typically do not have electric stabilizer jacks but instead use manual scissor type jacks. The main reasons are ground clearance, weight and power consumption. The manual scissor jacks typically need less ground clearance than electric ones and they add much less weight to your towing system. They also do not deplete precious battery power. • Recommended Econo Porch Trailer Step with Handrail and Optional Stabilizers
  • The Econo Porch Trailer Step with Handrail and Landing - Double - 7" Drop/Rise, 20-1/2" Tall # EHS-102-R does not require a stabilizer. It is a strong step with a weight capacity of 350 lbs. I've attached some videos to assist. The stabilizers like # JSS-4, # JSS-7, and # JSS-85 are available for people who want a stronger and more stable step with the load capacity of 750 lbs. That weight capacity is only directly over the stabilizer, but it more than doubles the capacity.

  • How Much Does the Ram Scissor Stabilizer Jack # TJSC-24 Weigh

  • Replacement Rear Scissor Jacks for 2012 KZ Spree 261 Travel Trailer
  • Trailer items like jacks and stabilizers are usually not trailer-specific and most trailer makers don't even keep track of the specific jack installed on their trailers since they may change such parts based on availability or pricing. The things you want to match up as you choose your new scissor jack are the weight capacity (check the sticker on your damaged jack and use at least that same rating if not higher); and the jack height. You want to make sure you do not lose ground clearance...

  • Replacement Rear Scissor Jack Recommendation for R-Pod 180 Camper
  • The R-Pod 180 that you have has scissor jacks attached to the frame in all four corners of the trailer. Since it looks like your trailer sits pretty high off of the ground the pair of jacks I recommend are the Ultra Fab # UF48-979031 which have 30 inches of lift and a stabilization capacity much higher than your trailer would require at 6,500 lbs.

  • Recommended Stabilizer Jacks for 13-foot Camper Trailer
  • A camper that weighs about 2500-lbs can use stabilizer jacks rated for less than this total weight load since they will not have to bear that total when simply steadying the camper. For a cost-effective scissor jack I suggest the etrailer # TJSC-24 which offers bolt-on installation. This is sold as a single jack so order two. All similar stabilizer jack options are shown on the linked page.

  • For your Coachman Clipper Trailer, the Ram Scissor Stabilizer Jack, # TJSC-24, will fit and work well. This stabilizing jack will extend up to 23-3/4 inches and will collapse to 5 inches. The mounting flange is 10 inches by 3-1/4 so the location of your installation will need this footprint.
