Carry a spare tire for your truck, van, or SUV while still using your hitch for mounting accessories. The sturdy Roadmaster spare tire carrier holds all wheels with a lug nut circle up to 7", including dually and deep dish style.

The Roadmaster spare tire carrier not only gives you extra room inside your RV by letting you mount your spare tire on the back, but it also provides a 2" hitch extension that lets you mount a tow bar or other hitch-mounted accessories. Flat tow your car or attach your bike rack or a cargo carrier for even more storage for your trip.
The Roadmaster spare tire carrier will make a great addition to your RV. This easy-to-use carrier simply slides into your 2" x 2" trailer hitch receiver. Just line up the holes on the carrier and the receiver and thread in the included anti-rattle hitch pin to secure the carrier to your RV.
Once the carrier is mounted in your hitch you can remove the safety bolt on the carrier's mast, pull the spring-loaded handle on the rear of the carrier, and pivot the carrier to either side and down to the ground.
Once the carrier is resting on the ground, you can mount your spare tire. Just roll the spare over to the carrier and align the 2 lug holes in the wheel that are most opposite each other with the corresponding slots in the wheel mount. The lug nut matrix design of the spare tire carrier fits all bolt hole patterns on 16" - 24-1/2" wheels.
Before lifting up the spare tire carrier, pull out the lever bar and secure it to the carrier mast in the extended position using the included safety pin. Then use the extension lever to raise the carrier up to the vertical position. Once the release handle locks back into place, secure the spare tire carrier with the safety bolt before driving.
When loaded, the spare tire carrier is still easy to lower and raise. The extension lever allows for better control of the carrier as it is being maneuvered. Lowering your carrier, loaded or unloaded, will allow access to your RV's rear compartments without having to take off your spare tire or the carrier.

Overall installation was simple but the instructions are not good. Too much stuff for a total of three bolts to mount. Solid product, robust and sits well inside the hitch.
I was impressed as to how substantial and heavy duty this item is. Nice finish, clear instructions on how to mount the unit to the RV and to mount the spare tire to the unit.
Delivered quickly, went together fast, fit perfect. Best thing is I haven’t had to use it once for the tire but working great for the ability to have a cargo carrier with me.
This spare tire holder is flexible yet HEAVY Duty. It’s easy for me to get my 155 lb 19.5” tires mounted thanks to the expandable leverage bar provided.
Easy to install with detailed instructions sent with product.
I bought a new 2018 Class C Motorhome that came without a spare tire. I added a tire pressure monitoring system and traveled with the hope that I wouldn't have a flat tire out in the sticks, where it would be difficult to get help. I got home from a long trip last summer, and a rear tire went flat in my driveway. My travel club memberships gave me a lot of trouble about helping me, since I didn't have a spare! Good thing I was home, so I could change it myself. I decided that I needed a spare tire carrier, so I wouldn't be stuck. I bought a spare wheel and tire, and then I bought this carrier. It is great. It's very heavy duty, but light enough to put on and take off for each trip. All of the hardware was included. I highly recommend this product and have told all of my friends about it for their motorhomes. I would buy this product again in a heartbeat.

I’ve owned and used it for over a year, and it is working out great. I use it on every trip. I wouldn’t travel without it!
This tire carrier is a beast! I have a 1999 Georgie Boy Cruise Master the tire was stored under the bed behind the water tank for 20 years. The tire ways almost 100 pounds that makes it quite awkward to get at. So I bought this hitch mounted tire carrier. It installed so easy the instructions where good but instead of hold the tire mount up and sliding the mounting hardware thew the hole i lade it on its side with the poll extended made so much easier then balancing it up right. I love it my tire is right there When / IF I need it .
The only con I see is that the tow hitch is 2 inches lower now and it extends foot farther than my ladder but it would have to for the easy swing to put the tire down to the ground.

Fantastic! So easy that even my wife can get that big heavy tire down & off easily
Installed the carrier on my Leisure Unity motor home. Has adequate clearance to back of motor home. Roadmaster was extremely helpful in supplying drawings and needed information. Seems to be very stable and easy to install or remove spare tire. A bit limited in ground clearance but carrier design and manufacture are excellent.
Would be great if Roadmaster included a method to relocate license plate. I used a mount from RockHard 4X4. Very pleased with the final installation.

Holding up great. Haven’t needed to remove tire and hopefully never will! Definitely recommend carrier. Well made, strong ang holding up well. Only drawback is receiver tube is lower to ground and will drag if not careful to avoid dips.
I've used the Roadmaster Hitch Mounted Spare Tire Carrier for the last year (2023) and have put over 7500 miles on it. The carrier has performed seamlessly and is still manageable when mounted 40 plus inches off the ground. I have it attached to a Torklift 5' extension that goes into a 3" receiver welded into my flatbed. To prevent bouncing I've had Torklift put in a support bracket from the lower(regular) receiver. No bounce!
Solid built product. Since many of the new motorhomes don't have spare tires this is the way to go. Makes it easy to check air in spare. I highly recommend and be sure to order from etrailer.com! Price can't be beat. While you're at it, be sure to order a tire cover. Got mine at Tirecoverpro.com.

Great, no issues.
Spare tire carrier is 5 star. The issue I have with the design is that it lowers the tow hitch by 2”. This drops the tow point for my toad to the minimum acceptable height and causes it to drag on the pavement often when leaving elevated parking lots.
It would be great for Roadmaster to offer a design that would raise the tow point 2” to give purchasers the option to raise rather than lower the tow point.
Tow bar manufacturer does not allow more than one connector between the tow bar and the motorhome, so device to raise the tow point is not an option.
Seems sturdy so far after installation without the spare tire in it. Instructions were incorrect as the size of sockets you need. Which resulted in extra trips to the hardware store after I had already gone there to purchase what the instructions said. The bolts that are supposed to hold the spare tire to the mount are way too short. So another trip to the specialty fasteners store is in my future. I'll update once I actually get the product working.
Well built and heavy duty product. I built a front bumper for our 98 Safari Sahara 3006 and incorporated a receiver hitch for the spare tire carrier. Needless to say a 22.5 truck tire and steel wheel is heavy- running in excess of 160 lbs. I did do a bit of modifiying in that I drilled a couple of extra holes in order mount the the wheel/tire lower down on the swing post than the stock slots would allow. I used heavy duty antirattle reciever hitch u-bolts from CZC Auto ([online vendor]) that just happen to be the right size and to catch two lug holes with heavy fender washers. I did have to grind a small clearance spot to clear the release pull handle as these bolts are 1/2 inch in diameter. With the assembly lower down it gives a bit more leverage which is a big deal for this 70 year old arthritic body, but I can get it up and latched. Lowering is a piece of cake. I also put an antirattle u-bolt on the receiver for the whole unit and everything is super solid. I'm quite happy with this setup.
I was able to put it together very quickly.
It goes well with our Class C.
The spare tire was bolted under the camper and this spare tire hitch will make it much easier to get the tire out if ever I need the spare tire.

It workout great. Fits on my camper.
The product has held up well, we haven't needed the spare tire it's carrying yet, but it's there when we need it. The handle and hinge make it fairly easy to handle the weight of a large RV tire. It still takes some muscle, but nothing like lifting the tire up would be.
However, we carry a 19.5" steel RV wheel and tire on it, and it's all together it's pretty heavy, perhaps 200lb, total. Our Hidden Hitch receiver ( custom to our Holiday Rambler ) was rated for 500lb of tongue weight, but this broke it in just 2000 miles of driving. This forced us to load the tire into our towed car and drive it separately from the RV for 500 miles to get to a welder that built us a brand new $1000 hitch receiver.
If you use one of these, keep an eye on it and be sure your receiver is up to the task of carrying the weight. Measure the distance between this and the back of the RV and if it starts to sag, get the receiver looked at ASAP.
The package was too heavy for a UPS or FedEx driver to handle. By the time it was delivered to my door, the box was torn open and crushed. The hitch was well-built and strong enough to do the job it was designed to do.
This tire carrier is working beautifully on our motorhome--our spare had been in a slide compartment, under the bed, and I wanted to use that area for storage. It was easy to assemble and install and is built like a tank. It looks good and tows our Jeep Wranger Unlimited with no problems. We had the (unfortunate) opportunity to put it to the test in December. Blew a tire, called AAA RV Plus, and I had the spare down, off the carrier, and ready for the repairman when he arrived. I highly recommend this carrier if you're looking to conveniently carry a spare.
The spare tire carrier fit our needs and is quality made.

Fantastic Product!
Perfect and necessary accessory for my motorhome. No other way to mount and carry a spare weighing well over 100lbs.
Great product, well made, easy to assemble, very strong, fantastic to carry 22.5"spare and tow our Jeep with our Super C MH

Great product, more security carrying spare tire with us. Very strong and quality made.
The Roadmaster spare tire carrier is well engineered and constructed. Instructions were easy to follow, and the installation was relatively smooth. You do need several socket sizes which may not be in everyones toolbox though. The carrier is expensive, but being able to carry a spare and to easily remove it from the carrier when needed is worth the expense in my opinion.
Love this tire rack. We tried a few other options first, hoping to save money but this was the best solution and is perfect for our needs. The tire is securely installed and our bike rack fits into it with no hitch extender required. Definitely recommend this tire rack!

I bought the hitch mounted spare tire holder for a trip we did with some friends in our motorhome through BC and on to Alaska, a distance of some 6000 miles. The Yukon has plenty of washboard roads and the tire mount worked flawlessly. It is heavily constructed and appears bulletproof. It comes highly recommended by me.
