Features to know about

Why Heavy-Duty Matters

If you blow a tire and pull over, you need that spare to be there. Lighter-duty mounts can bend or rust, and that's how spares bounce off. This one is heavy steel with a galvanized finish. It will hold tight on your bigger trailer's I-beam or aluminum frame, so your spare is right where you need it.

Works with Any Common Wheel

Some trailers run 4-lug, most use 5 or 6, and heavy rigs step up to 8 lugs. Frame heights differ. You could buy a new mount every time you get a new trailer, but if you use this one, you won't have to. It's built to fit each of those bolt patterns, and fits frames that are 5" up to 8" tall.

Video Transcript for Review of Tie Down Spare Tire Mount - Frame Mount - TD96FR

Hi, everyone. Steve here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at our Tie Down spare tire mount. It fits four, five, six, and even eight lug wheels. This is a galvanized steel construction. So folks, this would be what I would consider a heavy duty spare tire carrier.

It's very, very beefy. It's about two inch by two inch heavy galvanized steel, so it's corrosion resistant and durable. And as you can see, you have four different slots, different angles. You can take the studs out and move 'em exactly where you need it to fit potentially every lug pattern that's out there, again, be it whether it's a four, five, six, or even eight lug pattern. And they do give you these little bitty washers, or clips, whatever you wanna call 'em.

Basically you put that over there once you've got it in the hole that fits your setup, and when you push this down, it's gonna keep the stud from moving around. That way it's always in the right spot whenever you need it there. And then of course you have your lug nuts to go over the lug studs here to tighten everything down. Now as far as mounting it, you have this plate here that goes on the backside here, so it's gonna accommodate five to eight inch wide trailer frame. So very impressive as far as what it can fit.

It does not have any mounting hardware. You wanna make sure you use grade five hex head bolts, not included, again, to fit your specific trailer frame width and needs. So again, you do need to purchase the bolts that are gonna go through here and use them. Now, there are six holes. I recommend using all six just to be safe, especially on those bigger tires.

And again, folks, hot dipped in galvanize finish, so it's gonna be corrosion resistant, very long lasting. It's a great heavy duty spare tire mount, and it'll be a great option for you. And like I said, it's gonna fit anything out there. Well folks, that will wrap it up for our quick look together. I'm Steven. Thanks for watching. Have a great day.
