Notes:
The Roadmaster spare tire carrier not only gives you extra room inside your RV by letting you mount your spare tire on the back, but it also provides a 2" hitch extension that lets you mount a tow bar or other hitch-mounted accessories. Flat tow your car or attach your bike rack or a cargo carrier for even more storage for your trip.
The Roadmaster spare tire carrier will make a great addition to your RV. This easy-to-use carrier simply slides into your 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" trailer hitch receiver. Just line up the holes on the carrier and the receiver and thread in the included anti-rattle hitch pin to secure the carrier to your RV.
Once the carrier is mounted in your hitch you can remove the safety bolt on the carrier's mast, pull the spring-loaded handle on the rear of the carrier, and pivot the carrier to either side and down to the ground.
Once the carrier is resting on the ground, you can mount your spare tire. Just roll the spare over to the carrier and align the 2 lug holes in the wheel that are most opposite each other with the corresponding slots in the wheel mount. The lug nut matrix design of the spare tire carrier fits all bolt hole patterns on 16" - 24-1/2" wheels.
Before lifting up the spare tire carrier, pull out the lever bar and secure it to the carrier mast in the extended position using the included safety pin. Then use the extension lever to raise the carrier up to the vertical position. Once the release handle locks back into place, secure the spare tire carrier with the safety bolt before driving.
When loaded, the spare tire carrier is still easy to lower and raise. The extension lever allows for better control of the carrier as it is being maneuvered. Lowering your carrier, loaded or unloaded, will allow access to your RV's rear compartments without having to take off your spare tire or the carrier.

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Roadmaster Hitch Mounted Spare Tire Carrier with two inch receiver. Now this is going to allow you to carry a 16 inch to 24 and a half inch wide tire for your truck, van or SUV while the still providing that two inch by two inch hitch receiver to allow you to mount a towbar if you are wanting to flatow your vehicle or you can mount a bike rack or a cargo carrier for even more storage for your trip. Now this is going to install on your two and a half inch by two and a half inch trailer hitch receiver on your RV. You can see it does have this nice black powder coated steel construction so it is gonna be very durable and corrosion resistant. Now this is gonna provide a maximum flat towing capacity of 10,000 pounds and a maximum tongue weight of 400 pounds.
But, of course, when your towing, your whole setup is only as strong as the weakest component and this is going to reduce the tongue weight capacity of your hitch by 33%. So you definitely want to go with the the lowest number so that you're not exceeding any of the individual components. This does have two separate pinholes, so if I pull this out of the shank, you can see we're gonna have the option to adjust the length of the shank. It is important to note that if you do have this lined up with the pinhole on your shank and the other pinhole is at the lip of your hitch receiver, there is a lot of force back here on your hitch on your RV and this is gonna be a weak point. So you don't want to use this if that pinhole is gonna line up with that lip there.
So an easy way to tell if that's the case for you is to measure between the center of your pinhole out to the farthest edge of your receiver tube and if that measurement is three and 3/16 of an inch to three and 13/16 of an inch, this is not gonna be a great option for you. You also wanna make sure that your pinhole is no more than 10 inches away from the rear part of your RV. So if this sticks out a lot from your RV, that's gonna put a lot of force back there and this isn't gonna work for you either. So you wanna make sure that that's gonna fit your application, you're not gonna risk damaging anything. They do include this anti-rattle hitch pin that's gonna secure the carrier to your RV's hitch and this will thread in so it will help to eliminate any rattle and play in that connection.
We also have the built-in safety cable connection tabs here that will allow you to very quickly and easily make connections for your safety cables there. On our tire carrier, again, this is going to have this lug nut matrix that is designed to fit all bolt patterns for your 16 to 24 inch wheels. Now, this is gonna work even for your dually and deep dish style wheels so you can get that mounted. This is gonna have this tilting feature so if I pull out this extended mast arm here, it's going to give us some additional leverage so that we can easily get our wheel put up in place. So once I have that extended, I'm gonna switch to a rear-view shot here.
So you can see we can very simply unthread this retaining pin and then we'll lift up on the spring loaded latch here and that's going to allow us to tilt this so that we can bring it down, lower it to the ground, then we can simply roll our wheel over, get it hooked up, connected and then we can use that leverage to lift that up in place and that spring is gonna snap right into place for us like so. I'll demonstrate that again for you so you can see we've got an automatic snap in so that's gonna hold it up for us and then we can very easily put that retaining pin back in place before we move and drive down the road so that we can rest assured that it is going to be held in place solidly for us. This does come with a limited lifetime warranty so you can trust it is going to hold up well. If you we're to have any issues with it, you're more than welcome to reach out to us here at etrailer.com. But overall, I think this is gonna be a really great way to carry on your spare tire with you while you're out in your RV and still have that access for towing your tow vehicle or your flat towed vehicle or your bike racks, cargo carriers, that sort of thing. So that completes our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.

Carry a spare tire for your truck, van, or SUV while still using your hitch for mounting accessories. The sturdy Roadmaster spare tire carrier holds all wheels with a lug nut circle up to 7", including dually and deep dish style.Overall installation was simple but the instructions are not good. Too much stuff for a total of three bolts to mount. Solid product, robust and sits well inside the hitch.
