  We have spare carriers like the part # UF15-954730 which were designed specifically to attach to a 4 inch RV bumper which would be my first pick for your application but since the # DM15851-76 was also designed to attach to a 4 inch by 4 inch metal channel there's no reason it wouldn't fit either.   When we measured the bolt hole distance, we found that they were 4-1/2" apart on center for the Demco Spare Tire Carrier for up to 4" Trailer Tongue - Black # DM15851-76. As far as vertically, that actually doesn't matter as much, and the reason is, while it comes with 5-1/2" long, 1/2" bolts that will definitely fit a 4" tube, you can use longer or shorter bolts, they just need to be the same 1/2" diameter.
