Video Transcript for Comprehensive Review: Buyers Products Truck Spare Tire Mount for 19-1/2" Rims or Smaller

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Buyers Products spare tire carrier. This spare tire carrier holds tires with 19 1/2 inch diameter rims or smaller. The carrier can be bolted or welded on, depending on your vehicle. This type of carrier is really popular for work trucks, construction vehicles, semi trucks, and delivery trucks. It does come with the oversized wing nut, which makes securing and unloading tires quick and easy. It's constructed of 14 gauge steel. The universal thick carrier has a corrosion resistant black powder coated finish. It's made in the USA.A few measurements I want to mention for you real quick.

I did take a measurement of the overall length that we have of the unit, edge to edge. Got a measurement of about 23 1/2 to 23 5/8 inches, and then side to side going this direction I get an overall measurement of about 6 1/2 inches. The threaded rod right here, this is the threaded post which would come through the center area of the trailer wheel, this has a diameter measurement of 9/16 to 5/8 of an inch.So what you do is with this plate mounted, you would take this, place your spare tire over it, making sure the center area goes through the wheel. And then you would take your plate, it goes on, and then you place on your wing nut. As you tighten your wing nut, it makes contact with the plate, which makes contact with the trailer wheel, or the spare tire wheel.

And you just do that until it's nice and tight, and then that's all there is to it.Really nice design, very easy to use, very strong, well-built unit. That's gonna do it for today's look at the Buyers Products spare tire carrier.

1992 dodge D250 truck. The bad...Wish they made the vertical tall metal mounting plate adjustable. Different height would have worked better for me. Also wish it had a larger surface area on the bottom "L" portion, so I could mount it more secure. Biggest unforeseen issue is silver wingnut. Just tightening it down to hold the spark tire in place, it stripped out a little. So I asked for another one and got it. Lastly, if the black holding stay bar was longer, would have used the center wheel hole as opposed to the lug nut hole. Overall does the job, I'm ok with it, if I was not lazy I would have simply fabricated this at the shop.

Not exactly what I was looking for but I made it work. Had to drill my own mounting holes. Not a biggy. The wing nut and steel spanner were fine. The bolt could have been threaded at least 3" lower to accommodate a small trailer tire. Made a 4" rock maple spacer with a 7/8" hole drilled in its center to allow threading and securing the wing nut to the wheel assembly. Place a large metal washer between the spacer and the wing nut to spread out the pressure exerted by tightening the wing nut to the wheel assembly. It worked. I'm in business.

I just received it and I haven’t mounted it as of yet. It looks like quality material. Didn’t come with any mounting hardware or holes in the bracket. Maybe its so you can customize it for your own application. It seems to be a great bracket.

by:

I haven't installed it on my truck yet. It is in the shop. It's a Land Rover of course. Anyway construction is good, only three parts, Perfect!

Works great. Great product

  • Spare Tire Carrier For A 2019 Ford F-350 With A Utility Bed
We do offer a few spare tire carriers which will work for holding a spare tire for a 2019 Ford F-350. Most of what we carry will be hitch mounted carriers like part # e98ZR. There is nothing that is made specifically for a Royal Truck Rack. We do have the Stromberg Carlson Spare Tire Carrier # TR-2, which is designed to fit a 4" or 4-1/2" square crossmember. There is also the Buyers Products Truck Spare Tire Carrier # 3375201010 which can be bolted or welded to a location of your choosing,...

  • Recommended Spare Tire Holder for RV Bumper Cargo Carrier
The 24x60 etrailer Cargo Carrier for RV Bumper - Steel - Folding - 500 lbs # e99049 you referenced doesn't have a specific spare tire holder. The Buyers Products Spare Tire Carrier # 3375201010, the Fulton Economy Spare Tire Carrier with Lock # FETCHL0700, or the Erickson Spare Trailer Tire Bracket Kit # EM77316 are options you could make work with that carrier. I'd go with the Buyers Product option because it offers support over a longer area.

  • Can Spare Tire Carrier be Used Under Trailer
There are great options for spare tire carriers on your trailer, but I do not recommend using the Buyers Products Spare Tire Carrier # 3375201010 or mounting it under a trailer. Bolting it on, in particular, is not something you would want to do in this instance so if you did decide to use it under your trailer you will definitely want to weld it on. The spare tire carrier I highly recommend instead is the Fulton Hi-Mount Spare Tire Carrier # FHDSTC0101 because it will mount your trailer...

  • Stud Length on Buyers Products Spare Tire Carrier # 3375201010
I went out to our warehouse and measured an overall stud length of 9-1/2" on the Buyers Products Spare Tire Carrier # 3375201010. Just the threaded portion of the stud measures 5-1/8". I have attached an image to assist. This carrier is designed for wheels as large as 19-1/2" in diameter. It could potentially support a dually rim but it's going to depend on how wide your particular wheel is. You can use the stud length to determine if it will be compatible with your existing wheel.

  • Solution for Spare Tire Carrier on 1977 GMC Motorhome
The # TR-2 fits 4" square and 4-1/4" square bumpers. This and other carriers like it will not fit your 1977 GMC Motorhome, but I do have some other options. The first is to mount the Buyers Products Truck Spare Tire Carrier for 19-1/2" Rims or Smaller # 3375201010 on the back. This can either be bolted on (drilling will be required) or welded on. The other option is to use a hitch mounted spare tire carrier like the # e98ZR. Of course this will require you to have a trailer hitch receiver...

  • Solutions for Carrying Spare Tire on 2009 Toyota RAV4 Sport
From what I understand, the 2009 RAV4 Sport was originally equipped with run-flat tires which explains why they typically didn't come with a spare tire or a good place to store one. The Buyer's Products # 3375201010 spare tire carrier is a universal fit item, so Buyer's Products doesn't offer specific mounting instructions or guidance. It would be up to the end user to determine the best placement and do the measuring to determine if the tire and mount would fit in the desired location....

  • Will 33x12.5 Wheel/Tire Fit on Buyer's Products 3375201010 Spare Tire Carrier
The 19-1/2 inch figure refers to the diameter of the rim, not the 33 inch diameter of the tire. So, as long as the rim the 33 inch wheel is mounted on is 19-1/2 inches in diameter, your spare tire will work great of the Buyer's Products # 3375201010 spare tire carrier. Since a 33 x 12.5 tire is typically found on a 15 or 16 inch diameter rim, the carrier will work just fine.

  • Recommended Spare Tire Carrier for a 2009 Toyota RAV4 Sport
We do have spare tire carriers like the Buyers Products Spare Tire Carrier # 3375201010 which can be added to vehicles but this is a universal type of carrier so you would need to mock up the product dimensions (7/8 x 6-1/2 x 23-5/8) and see if and how that would allow you to mount your full-size spare under your 2009 Toyota RAV4 Sport. Unfortunately we don't carry anything that would let you mount the tire to your rear door. For an option that doesn't require as much math and testing...
