Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Buyers Products spare tire carrier. This spare tire carrier holds tires with 19 1/2 inch diameter rims or smaller. The carrier can be bolted or welded on, depending on your vehicle. This type of carrier is really popular for work trucks, construction vehicles, semi trucks, and delivery trucks. It does come with the oversized wing nut, which makes securing and unloading tires quick and easy. It's constructed of 14 gauge steel. The universal thick carrier has a corrosion resistant black powder coated finish. It's made in the USA.A few measurements I want to mention for you real quick.
I did take a measurement of the overall length that we have of the unit, edge to edge. Got a measurement of about 23 1/2 to 23 5/8 inches, and then side to side going this direction I get an overall measurement of about 6 1/2 inches. The threaded rod right here, this is the threaded post which would come through the center area of the trailer wheel, this has a diameter measurement of 9/16 to 5/8 of an inch.So what you do is with this plate mounted, you would take this, place your spare tire over it, making sure the center area goes through the wheel. And then you would take your plate, it goes on, and then you place on your wing nut. As you tighten your wing nut, it makes contact with the plate, which makes contact with the trailer wheel, or the spare tire wheel.
And you just do that until it's nice and tight, and then that's all there is to it.Really nice design, very easy to use, very strong, well-built unit. That's gonna do it for today's look at the Buyers Products spare tire carrier.

It's made of carbon steel, and you can bolt it or weld it onto your work vehicle.1992 dodge D250 truck. The bad...Wish they made the vertical tall metal mounting plate adjustable. Different height would have worked better for me. Also wish it had a larger surface area on the bottom "L" portion, so I could mount it more secure. Biggest unforeseen issue is silver wingnut. Just tightening it down to hold the spark tire in place, it stripped out a little. So I asked for another one and got it. Lastly, if the black holding stay bar was longer, would have used the center wheel hole as opposed to the lug nut hole. Overall does the job, I'm ok with it, if I was not lazy I would have simply fabricated this at the shop.
Not exactly what I was looking for but I made it work. Had to drill my own mounting holes. Not a biggy. The wing nut and steel spanner were fine. The bolt could have been threaded at least 3" lower to accommodate a small trailer tire. Made a 4" rock maple spacer with a 7/8" hole drilled in its center to allow threading and securing the wing nut to the wheel assembly. Place a large metal washer between the spacer and the wing nut to spread out the pressure exerted by tightening the wing nut to the wheel assembly. It worked. I'm in business.
I just received it and I haven’t mounted it as of yet. It looks like quality material. Didn’t come with any mounting hardware or holes in the bracket. Maybe its so you can customize it for your own application. It seems to be a great bracket.
I haven't installed it on my truck yet. It is in the shop. It's a Land Rover of course. Anyway construction is good, only three parts, Perfect!
Works great. Great product
Bought this to customize. This one is easily customizable. Very well built!
