Say goodbye to worrying about your spare tire damaging or scratching the finish of your beloved boat. The extra offset design of this Dutton-Lainson trailer spare tire mount positions the spare at an angle, keeping it a safe distance from your boat’s hull. This secure hold means you can navigate rough waters and bumpy roads without worrying about unwanted contact.

Fits Like a Glove: Versatile Compatibility

Finding a spare tire mount that fits your wheel and trailer can be challenging. This mount solves that with its broad compatibility. It’s suitable for 13 to 15 inch rims with a 5 on 4-1/2 and 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern, making it the perfect fit for a variety of trailers. Tested for more than 500 hours against red rust, it promises long-lasting protection and durability.

The item is very sturdy and well constucted. I intended to use the item on the body of the trailer, but had to put it on the tongue instead. The angle of the arm from the mount is not steep enough. Once the tire was on, there was only about 10 inches of clearance from the groung to the tire. Some boat ramps are too steep and the tire appeared that it might rub.

The manufacturer need to increase the angle so that the arm is higher and the spare has at least 12-14" between the tire and the ground.

I couldn't use a straight spare tire bracket on my boat trailer, so I bought this angled spare tire bracket along with a spare tire and tire cover. I was very pleased with the email updates on the shipping status and that it arrived pretty quickly (~3 to 4 days) free shipping. The bracket is very good quality. I had to do some trial and error on the location I placed the bracket on the trailor to avoid having the tire touch the ground (learned the hard way the first time, did some cosmetic damage to the tire cover). Looks good when fully installed, and came in handy two weeks after I got it - flat tire on a major highway. Make sure your you have the correct lug nut wrench. My vehicle lug nut wrench did not match the trailor lug nut size.

by:

I feel it sits too low on the trailer. I have concerns of the spare tire is rubbing on the road when traveling. However, I’m not really sure if it rubs as I cannot see back there while I am driving. But, with as low as it sits, I have belief it is. I tried to replace through the company and they stated would not replace. Try to do your best, to make sure it will work, before you purchase. They WILL NOT REFUND OR REPLACE!

by:

This worked great for my boat trailer. I needed the offset to keep the tire from contacting the hull since I mounted it further back on the frame due to the folding tongue. I spray painted it black to match the trailer. I needed to re-position the studs to align with my 6-lug 15" wheel. They were so snug I used a large nailset/punch to drive them out and back in, no issues with that just a tip. I have over 7,000 trailering miles since installing and zero issues.

by:

The extra offset of this spare tire carrier is perfect for smaller boats with shallower hulls. A typical carrier wouldn't work with my boat and trailer combination. etrailer.com makes finding and buying the right product fast and easy.

Its been a year and still working great!

by:

This mount is perfect! I have a Tracker Pro 170 and the trailer isn't huge and has a folding tongue. I wanted an angled mount that would keep the spare tire away from the hull so I wouldn't run the risk of hitting the tire when putting the boat back on the trailer. This mount is EXACTLY what the doctor ordered. It was super easy to install and I can still fold the tongue enough to where I can still fit the boat in my garage.
NOTE: The front photo doesn't do justice to just how much room there is between the hull and the spare.

by:

Make it 4.5. Quality mount in everyway. The hardware leaves some space for improvement. Some sort of flange nut is supplied and it's as if the nut is cross threaded all the way on. Recommend having boat off if working Where the mount would be slightly under the boat. The hardware is a battle in a tight space. Overall pleased with the mount. Probably outlast me.

by:

etrailer always delivers! Spare tire mount was exactly as advertised and has fulfilled its purpose. Thank you!

by:

Well built, fast delivery. The best spare tire mount I could find that would fit my Sea Ray 185 Sport with factory spec Shorelander trailer. Easy installation.

by:

Spare tire holder works great. I have a 6 hole rim, but it also fits some 5 hole rims too. Puts your tire at an angle to avoid marks on the hull.

by:

This is one strong product built well with a nice finish. It is solid and strongly built I feel confident that it will hold up where I go on some very tough rides in Canada.

by:

Tire much more accessible, also using it to step off bow of boat when recovering to attach bow strap. Big plus!

The product has held up very well this past year! Withstands the weather elements well!

by:

just what I needed for a non-typical, tight-quarters fitting for a boat trailer spare tire carrier. Unsurpassed customer service. Great product descriptions and instructional videos.

by:

Holding the tire up perfectly. Full disclosure. Boat is undergoing repair, so trailer hasn't been towed yet. HA!!!

by:

Installed easy after I changed the stud configuration to 6 hole. Didn't realize had to use hammer to get studs removed from 3-4 hole to 6. Instructions did say to remove, just wasn't sure how. Once I did that it is working great.

by:

Perfect fit, very sturdy and well made. I would definitely recommend it. Easily worth three price.

Havent had a flat tire tire yet however still holding up still looks good.

by:

Great product !! Arrived on time, undamaged with all parts. Simple installation with a box wrench and a ratchet wrench. The self locking "hat nuts" were a pleasant surprise and simplified installation while making the long term use more secure. Best of all, the angle of the tire mount provided the clearance I needed to (try to) avoid a collision with my boat when retrieving it from the water.

It is continuing to provide great service holding the spare in place.

by:

This is a high quality product that was easy to install on 2-craft PWC trailer. An impact driver worked the best. It is very solid and mounted to a 4.75" aluminum I-frame. The 3 threaded stock for the lugs worked as expected for my 5 lug wheel.

The spare tire carrier is working out great! All of my launches are in salt water and holding up very well to the salt water.

by:

This fit perfect to finally allow me to mount the spare tire for my boat and not interfere.

by:

Great spare tire mount. I have a V hull Lund fishing boat and the traditional vertical mount that I purchased previously did not allow for me to see the side trailering light on the wheel well when mounted. So, I decided to give this one a try, and it did the trick. I was able to mount it further toward the front of the trailer, avoid any contact with the hull, and now can see my running lights! Thanks e-trailer!

Hi Craig; all of our bolt on options like the # DL22145 with the offset max out at 5" tall frames. If you have room for it to sit on top the # DM15851-76 will work but you will need to get longer bolts locally for it to fit the taller frame. Outside of that, depending on the trailer and setup you can add a hitch and use the # e98ZR, or mount it underneath with the # LC159056, or if it is something like a utility trailer you can add a stake pocket and use the # 3375201012.
