Bunk Boards

These carpeted bunk boards provide hull support for your boat during transport and storage. Each 5-foot-long board is wrapped in weather-resistant, marine-grade black carpet. You can run the bunk boards front to back for traditionally shaped hulls or side to side for flat-bottom boats, kayaks and inflatables.

To attach the bunk boards to the front and rear crossmembers of your trailer frame, use existing brackets or a four-pack of swivel mounting brackets (CE10000G-4, CE10001G-4 or C10002G-4 - sold separately). These brackets allow you to install the bunk boards at different heights. In addition, they enable the bunk boards to tilt to accommodate and support boat hulls of different sizes.

  • Recommended Placement of Bunk Boards on Bayliner Capri 1950
After completing a very thorough image search online, it appears that the most common bunk placement is about 2/3 of the way between the keel and the ridge that runs along the side of the hull. Rather than on end, most of the bunks I saw had the board meeting the hull on the flat. This disperses more of the weight of the boat along the bunk. The # CE27820 bunk boards you mentioned would be perfect. I'd also recommend using # CE10001G-4 bunk brackets and # CE15283GA-4 Galvanized u-bolts.

  • Recommended Wood for Bunk Boards on Boat Trailer
Hey Steve! What kind of boat do you have? The untreated southern yellow pine used in CE Smith bunk boards is one of the best possible options and what I recommend. This is highly resistant to decay and bugs. It also has a high resin content which helps it dry quickly, perfect for applications like bunk boards. We don't have a 10' length but what most people do is get two pairs of the CE Smith Carpeted Bunk Boards for Boat Trailers - 5' Long # CE27820 and put them together.

  • 10 Foot Long Carpeted Bunk Boards for Boat Trailer
I can certainly understand not wanting to have to connect 2 five-foot carpeted bunk rails like # CE27820 to get the 10 foot bunks you need. We don't offer them in the 10' length because the shipping costs would be more expensive than the bunks themselves. If you're a DIY kind of person, you can pretty easily make your own bunk boards using 2" x 4" or 2" x 6" pressure-treated lumber and CE Smith Marine Grade Carpeting like # CE11350. Most hardware stores will cut the boards to the length...

  • Parts Needed to Convert a Boat Trailer From Rollers to Bunks
In order to switch from rollers to bunks, you will need to remove the rollers that you are no longer using. I do not see a reason why you can't continue to use the front rollers. You would just want bunks that stop a little but before the front rollers so they do not interfere with each other. You would need to get the bunk boards, swivel brackets and u-bolts for installing the bunk boards. You will need to measure to determine the correct length of bunk board that fits between the middle...

  • Parts Needed to Convert a Boat Trailer From Rollers to Bunk Boards
This can absolutely be done. While there are not "kits" for doing the conversion, we do have the parts that you will need. These are not kitted together because each boat/trailer combination is different, so it is easier to not kit them. It is recommended to have bunk boards that are at least 50% of the length of your boat. You can have longer boards if you would like, but you want at minimum 50% of the length. Since your boat is 21', you will want bunks that are at least 10.5' long. I...

  • Availability of 10' Long Carpeted Bunk Boards
Hey Verne! I do have a solution but, 10' bunk boards are not something that we carry. What you can do is use two of the CE Smith Carpeted Bunk Boards for Boat Trailers - 5' Long # CE27820 to get your 10' length. This will work just as well as an actual 10' board. You will also need the CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies # CE10000G-4. If you need anything else don't hesitate to reach out in the comments below.

  • Recommendation for 10 Foot Long Carpeted Bunk Boards for a Bass Boat Trailer
I have a couple of options for you to add 10 foot long carpeted bunk boards to your trailer. First, you could use 2 sets of the 5 foot long boards, # CE27820. The other option is to get 10 foot boards locally and staple on some carpet yourself. We have different carpet options depending on what size and color you want and I have included a link to them for you.

  • Recommended 5' Bunk Boards and Mounting Hardware For Boat Trailer
We have just what you need. For the two 5' bunk boards I recommend the CE Smith Carpeted Bunk Boards for Boat Trailers - 5' Long - 1 Pair # CE27820, but the longest board we offer is 7' so for the two 109" boards you will need to get them from your local hardware store and use the CE Smith Deluxe Marine-Grade Carpeting for Bunk Boards - Black - 18' Long x 18" Wide # CE11349 to add the carpet to the boards. • Recommended Bunk Board Replacement Options for Boat Trailer
For your boat trailer, the length of bunks is dependent on the boat and the trailer, so I would be hesitant to change anything from the factory. It soulds like you have a couple of 2 foot bunk boards that need to be replaced and you can use the CE Smith Carpeted Johnboat Bunk Board for Boat Trailers - 2' Long - Qty 1 # CE27850 for the replacement. You can use shorter bunk boards in combination to reach your current lengths. Doing so will sometimes even increase the strength because...

  • What Parts Are Needed to Replace Roller Bunks with Wood Bunks
While we don't have wooden bunks that are as long as you need we do have the brackets you can use with part # CE10000G-4 which you'd use u-bolts like the part # CE15283GA-2 to secure to the crossmembers that run left to right on your trailer. The front to back beams that your rollers are on would need to come off.

  • Converting Boat Trailer From Rollers to Bunk Boards
For the bunks I recommend using two sets of the 5' CE Smith Carpeted Bunk Boards # CE27820, or you'd like to get your own wooden boards you can wrap them in Marine-Grade Carpeting # CE11349. To install the boards, you will need a pair of Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies # CE10001G-4 per board, which are 11", as well as a pair of U-Bolt Kits # CE15283GA-4. I've added links to video reviews of these parts for you to check out as well.

  • Bunk Boards Needed to Carry Kayaks on Boat Trailer
You can actually purchase the carpeted bunk boards and the brackets that hold them, like what is on the CE Boat Trailer # CE48810, separately. This way you can add more to your trailer if you have the room for it. The Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies # CE10000G-4 can be installed on your boat trailer using the CE Smith U-Bolts # CE15283GA-4. These U-Bolts are 3-13/16" long, 3-1/16" wide, and have a 1/2" diameter. For bunk boards we have a couple of different length options for you...

  • Recommended Roller Bunks for Boat Trailer to Ease Launching and Loading Boat and Bunk Guides
The best option for your boat to move better on and off your trailer is to use the Dutton-Lainson Boat Trailer Deluxe Roller Bunks # DL21741. These rollers make loading and launching your boat easy. They are available in 4 and 5 foot lengths, so I've linked a page to assist. You will also need the roller bunk brackets like # DL21742. • Fitment and Parts Needed To Mount Roller Bunks On a Trailer For a V-Hull Boat
Yes, you can use the Boat Trailer Standard Roller Bunks # DL21755 on a boat that has a V hull. These can be attached to the edge of 2" X 4" Bunk Boards # CE27820 or to Boat Trailer Roller Bunk Brackets # DL21762. The mounting brackets can be angled to match the angle of your boat to ensure that the weight is evenly distributed across all the rollers.
