Question:

Will you make carpeted bunk rails up to 10foot in length? I do not want to try to put two 5foot together.

I can certainly understand not wanting to have to connect 2 five-foot carpeted bunk rails like # CE27820 to get the 10 foot bunks you need. We don't offer them in the 10' length because the shipping costs would be more expensive than the bunks themselves.

If you're a DIY kind of person, you can pretty easily make your own bunk boards using 2" x 4" or 2" x 6" pressure-treated lumber and CE Smith Marine Grade Carpeting like # CE11350. Most hardware stores will cut the boards to the length you need, so be sure to take advantage of that service to save yourself time and work. Pressure-treated lumber will last longer and absorb less water than non-treated lumber. The Marine Grade Carpeting is offered in several colors (see below) and is 12' x 11", which is the perfect size for covering standard bunks. If necessary, you can trim the carpet to match your bunks. I recommend purchasing some marine-grade adhesive and 1/2" stainless steel staples from your local hardware store to secure the carpet to the wood. Apply the adhesive to all sides of the wood, but be sure you only apply staples to one side. When installing the bunks, make sure that the stapled side faces down so that the staples do not come into contact with your boat hull.

You will need one package of this carpeting for each of your 10' long bunks. I've also attached a video of how to secure the bunks to your boat.

As you are replacing your bunks, I recommend also replacing your bunk hardware and any rollers that are damaged or decayed. I've also provided a link to all of our roller and bunk parts for your convenience.

This information is helpful. How much carpet would cover 2- 2 x 4 x 10 ft bunks and 2 - 2/4/6 Ft bunks. I am hoping 3 rolls would accomplish this! Thanks.
