Bunk Boards

These carpeted bunk boards provide hull support for your boat during transport and storage. Each 6-foot-long board is wrapped in weather-resistant, marine-grade black carpet. You can run the bunk boards front to back for traditionally shaped hulls or side to side for flat-bottom boats, kayaks and inflatables.

To attach the bunk boards to the front and rear crossmembers of your trailer frame, use existing brackets or a four-pack of swivel mounting brackets (CE10000G-4, CE10001G-4 or C10002G-4 - sold separately). These brackets allow you to install the bunk boards at different heights. In addition, they enable the bunk boards to tilt to accommodate and support boat hulls of different sizes.

I can't think of one thing I could want that would be better besides the saleslady Lori coming and installing the glide slides for the 2 pairs and installing the bunks on the trailer. Items are as stated and the quality was better than I could have done it if I bought the wood, cut it and carpeted it. My local trailer place was 2 weeks out and Lori walked me through the shipping process to get the product faster than normal but cheaper than "Next Day". Great advice. I think I found my new trailer store for the next time I need something trailer.

by:

product was excellent. However E-trailer failed to meet their expedited delivery promise (a week late) after I never received my original order. They were very unresponsive when I contacted them on the issue. Poor customer service.

by:

Exactly what I wanted. Arrived quickly. Installed with no problem.
Replaced broken bunk board.

by:

Easy to find just what I needed...placed the order...was informed during the shipping process...and all parts arrived fast and in perfect condition!

by:

First off, I want to say that the products that I ordered from etrailer.com were of high quality and were easy to install, and lets not forget about the fast shipping and my favorite - the personal touch added to the email communications where each one is signed by a human (rather than something generic).

My project itself entailed replacing the two (original) vertical mount 4' bunks on my boat trailer (see the attached pictures). These were set-up to hold a 15' sailboat. I recently purchased a 12' (plastic) jon boat, and I felt that the jon boat needed better support on the trailer so that it didn't warp or dent.

After doing a lot of research, I decided to go with two horizontal mount 6' bunks. They were pre-finished at a cost less than if I were to purchase the individual components (wood, glue, carpet, staples, etc.) and do the assembly work myself. Attaching the hardware and mounting them to the trailer was a snap - see the attached pictures for the finished setup.

by:

The products are very good! But they forgot to send me a part of my order( I needed to call to request the missing part ) when the missed part arrive I checked and it is open no plastic cover ( nothing cover to protect the part ).

by:

Came on time. All parts were shipped. Exactly what I needed . Each time I’ve ordered from etrailer, it’s has been the best pricing and delivered in time

by:

Packaging was on par, arrived when expected and overall a great replacement for my worn out bunks!

by:

Made well. Installed but have not launched the boat yet to see how it slides on them. I will see how long they hold up.

by:

Great customer service, prompt and on-time delivery. Very satisfied.

by:

They work great.

by:

Good quality and received as described.

by:

I need to repair my small boat trailer. The bunk boards were straight with a good covering as shown in picture. No complaints

by:

Needed replacement bunks for our small trailer. The 6' 2x4" CE Smith CE27840 bunks from etrailer are priced right, are good quality and did the job. They also arrived well packed in just a few days. Good job etrailer!

Yes, all products are as expected.Thank you.

by:

I bought PWC trailer bunks last year. Shipping and packing was very good and installation went well. I can't really comment on quality because bunks usually are used for years but these seemed no different from my old ones that were somewhat worn so I don't see having any quality issues in the future with these.

Product is working well!

by:

Makes replacement of bunks so easy

by:

East to find in catalog, good price and delivered quickly.

by:

Bought these for simplicity even though in my opinion they are overpriced for what they are. A pressure treated 2x4 and some exterior carpet or old fire hose (likely for free from fire station) will get it done cheaper. My complaint about these is etrailer's recommended brackets, which BARELY fit onto thexe 2x4 bunks. The mounting holes are very close to the outside edge of the bunks, and you are mounting them with very large lag screws (not included with these or the brackets).

by:

After comparing a wide variety of prices for bunk boards I found etrailer to have te best price and shipping costs available. Items arrived quickly and just as described. Thank you for a great value.

Great

by:

As described, arrived well protected. I guess I was hoping these would be glued in place as well. I know that's not in the description. I've seen new PWC trailers where the carpet is glued down and it looked really nice. The carpet on these is fluffy and soft, and a good upgrade from the outdoor carpet I had covering mine. You'll want to drill holes for the lag screws that go into the brackets that hold these to the trailer. If you want a 1" deep hole, wrap electrical tape 1" from the tip of your drill bit and you'll stop at 1" each hole.

by:

order arrived quickly and accurately.

by:

I have purchased a number of items from etrailer and have been very pleased with quality and delivery timelines. I highly recommend etrailer!

by:

The CE Smith carpeted bunk boards are a great replacement for my old bunks.
The service and shipping from etrailer is first class. I recommend etrailer to everyone.

by:

The carpeted bunk boards I ordered for my boat trailer arrived promptly and were exactly as advertised. I would definitely order from etrailer.com again.

by:

Arrived as advertised. On the trailer now and functioning well. One concern: no carpet glue was used so carpet is only secured by the staples. It slides a little on the board, but does not appear to present a problem in normal use. Another concern: the wood underneath does not appear to be treated lumber. These are meant to be used in and out of the water, so hopefully they will last. Time will tell. Working well now.

  • Is Lumber Used for CE Smith CE27840 Bunk Boards Pressure Treated
The boards used by the CE Smith # CE27840 bunk boards are NOT pressure treated. They are constructed of Southern Yellow pine, which offers a high degree of moisture and rot resistance. I used the same bunk boards on my PWC trailer, I installed them 6 years ago and they're still sound.

  • Determining Weight Capacity of Used Boat Trailer
The most accurate capacity information on your trailer is going to come from what you found using its VIN. This should take into account what was installed at the factory for this particular trailer. It's possible that the used trailer you are looking at is slightly different or older than the more current models you are seeing online from the manufacturer. If the trailer itself calls for a maximum capacity of 4,000 pounds, this is what you should go by. I do not recommend going over...

  • How To Replace 18 Foot Long Bunk Boards On a Pontoon Boat Trailer
I think the best option for your pontoon boat trailer would be to break the 18' long bunk boards down into three sections which then leaves 6' for each section. The shorter each board is, the more support you will have to a degree which is why I recommend this route. If one of them breaks you will only need to replace a small section as well. The CE Smith Carpeted Bunk Boards for Boat Trailers part # CE27840 is what I recommend because they are made of treated wood and have the carpet already...

The bunk boards you referenced, part # CE27840, are wrapped with carpet on all four sides. No bare wood is showing, as the carpet overlaps approximately 3/4 inch for the length of the bunk board on the underside. I have included an illustration showing the location of the seam.

  • How to Covert my Roller Bunks to Wooden Bunks on my Boat Trailer
This is a very easy process! If you already have rollers simply measure them and choose bunks similar to CE Smith Carpeted Bunk Boards for Boat Trailers part # CE27840 that most closely match. They will then attach to the same attachment point that the rollers used typically a bracket either welded or bolted to the trailer. There will be no issues of adjusting as these will be in the same position the rollers were. When I install these I use short 3/4" lag bolts through the bracket into...

  • How Long Should Trailer Bunks be on Pontoon Boat Trailer
There isn't an exact length of bunk boards that are required for pontoon boat bunks but in general around 75 percent of the length of the boat should be the length of the pontoons and you'll be good. So for a pontoon boat that measures 16 feet your best bunk length would be right at 12 feet.

  • How Long Does Bunk Carpet Last, Does CE Smith Carpeted Bunks Use Treated Wood
I spoke with my contact at CE Smith and the wood in the Carpeted Bunk Boards # CE27840 is a non-treated wood. The carpet though is marine grade carpeting. Typically bunk carpet will last a few years, but that really depends on how often its used. I've read that you can prolong the life of the carpet if you apply liquid car wax to the carpet a couple times a season. If you do this you will need to wait till the trailer is in the water before you disconnect it from the trailer. The wax...

  • How Long of Bunks for a 12 Foot Long Porta Boat
The general rule of thumb is that you want your bunks to extend completely to the stern (rear) of the boat, or even and inch or two beyond. That way the transom has plenty of support as you drive down the road. The bunks can extend as far forward as you like really, but I think you'll find that about half the length of the boat is usually enough as the front of the boat is generally supported by the bow stop on the trailer. For a 12 foot boat like your Porta Boat I would go with 6 foot...

  • Replacement Bunk Board Carpeting For a 16 Foot Long Bunk Boards
Yes, you can use a 16' long bunk board to replace your two 8' boards. It is important to find the straightest board you can as the longer boards will tend to have more bows and crowns in them. I recommend using a solid piece of CE Smith Deluxe Marine-Grade Carpeting # CE11349 to cover the full length of the replacement board. This 18' long by 18" wide carpeting will cover your bunk boards without seams that can be easily damaged.

If you're looking for 7' long bunk boards then we have those are part # CE27845. These measure 84" long x 1-3/4" wide x 3-3/4" tall and can be installed by either mounting them to existing brackets on your trailer frame or by using swivel brackets. I'm not quite sure what 7.6/3/8 means so I've gone ahead and linked our selection of bunk boards for you to filter through. If you can explain what dimensions your looking for we can compare this to what we have to see if something is compatible.
