Features to know about

Keeps Your Trailer Level: 6-1/4" Rise or 7-1/2" Drop

Getting your trailer to sit level is one of the most important parts of a safe, smooth tow. This mount gives you flexibility either way with a 6-1/4" rise or 7-1/2" drop, so you can line up your coupler height exactly where it needs to be. It’s an easy way to avoid sway and uneven load handling whether you’re hauling a camper, boat, or utility trailer.

Handles Real-World Loads: Rated Up to 5,000 lbs GTW

You want a mount that keeps up with your towing needs without second-guessing its limits. In the drop position it’s rated for 5,000 lbs gross towing weight and 500 lbs tongue weight, while the rise position handles up to 3,500 lbs GTW and 350 lbs tongue weight. That capacity covers a wide range of everyday trailers so you can hook up and go with confidence.

Built Solid for the Long Haul: Sturdy Steel with Gloss Black Finish

Towing gear takes a beating from weather and road debris. The solid steel construction on this mount gives you the strength you need, and the high-gloss black powder coat protects against corrosion over time. It stays looking good and does its job season after season without needing extra care.

Simple, Reliable Setup: Fixed Design That Just Works

No moving parts, no adjustments—just solid, dependable towing. The fixed ball mount design slides right into your 2" x 2" hitch receiver and stays put. With a 13" length from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole, it provides a little extra reach when needed without complicating your setup. It’s straightforward gear that gets the job done every time.

Was exactly what we needed. I had some initial doubts that it would be too far a drop but the lady I spoke with was spot on. It put our tow dolly in the exact perfect position!!

by:

Once again etrailer doesn’t disappoint. The drop is the perfect size and was unavailable anywhere else I looked.

by:

Great customer service and wonderful to work with plus their prices are reasonable.
I would highly recommend this company.

by:

This is a great quality product for a very fair price. I recently made my first purchases with etrailer, and am most impressed with their customer service. This is a well run company!

Excellent Ball Mount For 2020 Ford Ranger. Fast Shipping

by:

Item arrived as represented. George J upgraded shipping so it arrived earlier. Not my first order with etrailer and won't be my last.

by:

I'm a bargain shopper...I scour the net to find the absolute best price on anything I need. I bought a hitch from here that wasn't what I needed, I was bummed (totally my mistake on the order), but the folks at etrailer.com got a return simplified for me, found what I needed with a quick phone call, and you simply won't find a better group of people to do business with!

by:

1 year later still very happy with the with product. I have had no problems with it. Reminds me, I need to buy a break controller from you guys ASAP.

by:

Will buy again.

I called the customer
service line to ask questions about fitment and confirm I will receive the right products (ball mount, ball, and lock). They were EXCELLENT and if they weren't sure, they did the right research to confirm. Definitely worth buying from them.

by:

Gave me the right lift to tow a small utility trailer with my wife's Murano. Received the hitch in just a few days with the appropriate 2" ball. Both products look to be of high quality. Couldn't be happier.

by:

Not much to say, it's a ball mount. Curt makes quality stuff. Etrailer.com makes is easy to choose with a quick tutorial on mounts and sizes. Helped me tremendously because of my Jeep Wrangler Four Door having a 4" lift kit and monster tires. I would purchase from them again and again!

by:

looks like a good product and will fill my needs. Packaging and shipping could be improved. This is a steel unit and not enough shock absorbency was allow for. When package arrived hitch had poked through the side of the box. You need heavier boxes or more stabilizing packing when shipping these heavy products.

by:

It.s too big for the receiver! It measures 2.030" and won't go in. I'm hoping to be able to grind off enough with my belt sander to make it work. If not it'll end up in the trash.

If your receiver tube is outside of the small end of tolerance, it could cause fit problems. It is acceptable to remove the finish of the ball mount via sanding, but using a grinder on it is not recommended as the heat build-up could have a negative effect on the composition of the steel the ballmount is constructed of.

Used on 2014 ford escape Titanium Hitch is Draw tite Item # 75758
This ball mount was perfect for leveling my trailer.

etrailer is A+ service.

by:

I needed a minimum 7-inch drop for pulling a trailer behind my 2013 Suburban.
This ball mount works great and I couldn't find this size at any of the stores I looked at locally.

by:

The only thing keeping this from 5 stars is the lack of a ball flange nut indentation on both sides. I used this mount upside down to get my ball out and away from the bumper on my car. I had to use a pipe wrench on the ball flange to hold it while I tightened the nut on the other side. As you can imaging the wrench gouged the ball flange and the ball mount. This would not have happened if the ball mount had an inset for holding the hex flange of the ball. I could have just used a wrench on the nut and not had to hold the ball stationary while doing so. Improve this product please. No one likes gouges on their ball flange or ball mount.

by:

good product for my needs on Polaris Ranger 500, excellent service and product choices as usual from etrailer.com and arrived early.

still working great for my needs.

by:

Let the packing/shipping department know they should've used a bigger box and packed it differently? Kinda disappointed as this isn't the first time stuff has been battle-scarred before I get it. Considering my next steps.

Great ball mount for my wife’s SUV allows her to pull the golf cart with the trailer level

by:

Exactly what I needed. Great product. I have purchased several items from etrailer and have always been 100% satisfied!

by:

Can we give this 6 stars?!!! The perfect rise to level off the weight of my trailer/boat. Customer service every bit as good in helping me get the right part!!

Wow, that's awesome, Chuck! Really glad everything worked the way you needed it to for your boat trailer :) Do you have any boating plans for the 4th of July?

by:

Needed a longer fitting to my under car hitch. No one had it but eTrailer. Fit perfectly with the extra 1 1/2 inch displacement. However, the star was the customer sevice. Professional and offered the solution quickly

by:

Correct product but came completely damaged, doesn’t looked used but looked like some grabbed a hammer and hit it multiple times, i dont want to go to the process of returning it so im going to keep it like this, but disappointed with the product ondition.

by:

Ordered 7 and a half inch drop. I received 8 inch drop.

I needed an extra long shank to accommodate a Curt bike rack that attaches to the hitch mount. This worked perfectly, and it's heavy duty and well made.

  • What Size Ball Coupler Does Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer Currently Come With
I checked with Yakima to verify and the Rack and Roll Trailers like the part # Y08106 that you referenced comes with a coupler now that is designed for 2 inch hitch balls. At one point it was 1-7/8 inches be they have since changed that. The info you found was incorrect and I updated that page that you mentioned. When the trailer is setting level the top of the coupler down to the ground will measure 22 inches so you will need to go with a ball mount that will allow you tow the trailer...

  • Recommended Trailer Ball Mount for 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV
The correct ball mount for your vehicle will depend on the height of the hitch on your Outlander. When we installed a hitch like # C13398 on your vehicle, we found that the inside top of the receiver tube was about 11 inches above the ground. Since the average trailer coupler height is between 16-18 inches, you'll want a ball mount that provides about 6 inches of rise. Since the # C45036 you'd looked at provides a 2 inch drop, it wouldn't be a good choice. To figure out the exact rise...

  • Can Hitch or Ball Mount Be Drilled for Additional Hitch Pin Hole
Ball mounts like the Curt # C45100 are available in various lengths. This one happens to be 13-inches long, longer than some. Longer ball mounts are needed, for example, in cases of a truck having a slide in camper in the bed, or when using a towing-style bike rack. You do not want to drill your hitch or your ball mount as this will void the product warranty. A slightly longer ball mount poses no issues for your towing application.

  • Hitch and Recommended Equipment for Towing Small U-Haul Cargo Trailer With 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan
For a 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan, I'd recommend the Curt Class III hitch, part # C13381. When we installed this hitch on a 2019 Tiguan, we found that the top inside edge of the receiver tube sat 11-1/2 inches high. U-Haul trailer couplers sit at about 18 inches above the pavement when the trailer is level. To bring the trailer ball within an inch or two of level, I'd recommend going with a ball mount that has a 6 inch rise like the Curt # C45100. You'll also need a # PC3 hitch pin. U-Haul...

  • Distance From Ground To Curt Hitch C13382 On a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek
In regards to the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13382 which is a fit for a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek, the distance from the ground to the top inside edge of the receiver tube opening is 15". Therefore, if the distance from the ground to the bottom of the trailer coupler (while level) is 21" then you need a ball mount with a 6" rise. The Curt Ball Mount for 2" Hitches part # C45100 will work for this but you also need a Pin/Clip part # C21500 and Hitch Ball part # 40038.

  • Does Tongue Weight Sag Get Factored In When Picking Out Rise/Drop Ball Mount
This is a really great question! So ideally you have the trailer sitting as level as possible when you are towing. So that means that if your vehicle suspension is going to sag with the tongue weight of your trailer on the ball mount you'd want to compensate for that with the amount of rise/drop ball mount you select. How this normally works out is that you determine the drop needed (in your case 8 inches) and then go with a ball mount slightly higher like the Curt part # C45100 which...
