How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the TowSmart adjustable ball mount for your two inch receiver with a 5,000 pound capacity. Now this type of ball mount is gonna come in handy for a person that's going to have a lot of different things that they may be pulling if they have water sports carriers, a camper, utility trailer, anything that's within that category, this is gonna work for you. It also works for a person that may have different types of trailers that they're gonna pick up for work, 'cause it's gonna allow you to make the adjustment for whatever height you have to meet the coupler. A couple things that you won't have with it out of the package. You're not gonna have a ball, I just put on the TowSmart Swap-A-Ball on this guy just for illustration. And it uses a one inch shank and you're not gonna have a pin and clip.
You're gonna get one hitch pin and clip. So you're gonna have to pick between using it for your drop or using it for your receiver. It's not a bad idea to add on a locking pin and clip to keep everything nice and secure. So let's take a closer look. As far as our adjustments, you're gonna have a six and a quarter inch drop and a seven and a half inch rise with the ball here just so you can get an idea with the Swap-A-Ball.
So if you have different things that you're changing out and you need to go from like this two inch here, you can go just as easy to a 2 and 5/16. Just gonna align the hole and that'll work. And then you can make those adjustments for your rise or drop however accordingly. You can see that this guy has a nice thick powder coat. It's gonna hold up against all of the elements and abuse that it's gonna receive living the life as a ball mount, and you'll be able to just drop this guy right into your shank and readjust and retorque your ball if you needed that rise.
Our receiver pin is a 5/8 diameter hole and you can see also with the actual shank, you have a nice thick powder coat throughout. You're gonna have reinforcement underneath. So you have the welded gusset at the bottom that's gonna give you that nice stability. Your ball mount is rated for 5,000 pounds gross towing, 500 pounds tongue weight. You want to keep in mind when you're setting up for your towing that you're gonna, whatever's the lowest rated item in that setup is gonna be your maximum capacity.
A good example is my 2 and 5/16 ball that I have right on this setup. Even though that the ball itself is rated 48 K, you're maxed out at 5,000 gross towing. So with the adjustable ball mount here, just like all the other tow smart products that I've had a chance to demonstrate and just actually get my hands on, I think they're all solid products with really good materials, and I think they're gonna serve you pretty well. It's kind of like they added a little extra thought to some of the more common items with towing that makes your job just a little bit easier. Another thing that I would suggest is taking a look here at etrailer.com if you're not quite sure about your direction and we'll be able to get you on the right path home. So again, this is Ed with etrailer.com taking a look at the TowSmart 5,000 pound adjustable ball mount for your two inch receiver. Have a great day.
