Hey Ian!
Yes, if you're needing a 7" drop with the ball included, the best setup you can get is an adjustable ball mount. The B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount # BWTS10040B is really the top of the line. It adjusts in 1" increments up to 7-1/2" of drop and it includes two balls (2" and 2-5/16") to allow for multiple trailer setups. The recommended ground clearance on this hitch to avoid scraping on steep hills or curbs is a minimum of 11".
If you prefer a fixed ball mount system, then you would need to purchase the ball separately from the mount. The Curt Ball Mount for 2" Hitches # C45448 would be a great solution for you if you need exactly a 7" rise and it provides you an 8" drop. If you need an exact 7" drop, the closest option would be the Curt Ball Mount for 2" Hitches # C45100, which provides you a 6-1/4" rise and 7-1/2" drop. The # C45448 will need a ball with a 1-1/4" shank like 2" Hitch Ball # C69FR and the # C45100 requires a ball with a 1" shank like 2" Hitch Ball # 40083. The # C45448 is the heavier rated option of the two, and it's rated at 12,000 lbs versus the # C45100 being rated for 5,000 lbs. Both of these will require a ball and pin and clip to be purchased separately. Both can use the etrailer Trailer Hitch Pin and Clip for 2" and 2-1/2" Hitches # e45TR.
What are you planning to tow with your setup? Are you planning a trip with it or did you recently upgrade vehicles?
