Didn't work out for it's intended purpose. Wanted it to use on my mini van to pyll Scamp travel trailer. But I couldn' open my tailgate without unhitching the trailer

I recently received my C45240 dual length ball mount and was very pleased
with the way it looks. This mount is heavy duty for sure and the welds look perfect.
I needed the extra length because my tailgate hit the trailer jack when I let it down.now with this mount problem solved.

This ball mount was just what I needed. I've got a 2015 Escape but the little trailer I am going to pull was modified and raised 4" for off-road use. Well, my hitch was about 4" too low!! So, getting this ball mount receiver was just what I needed to get the added height on the hitch ball! Now, I'm ready to go!
This was my second purchase-so far, so good. Hitch and brake controller installs from first purchase went well and have worked well. Just received ball mount and ladder mount bike rack from second purchase-everything looks good so far. Pricing was very reasonable. They provide good information to make an educated purchase.
I need this for the front hitch on my truck. I needed the high rise since the hitch sits so low to the ground. I use the front hitch to launch my boat and jet ski on a small ramp that is hard to navigate.
Very pleased with my purchase. Ball mount and 2" ball are heavy and appear to be well made. Just purchased a new pickup truck and the rear end is a few inches higher than my old truck. The 6" drop on this ball mount will keep my trailer riding level. Thanks guys.

Still in use. Recently towed a classic car on a 2k mile trip with no problems.
Works like a charm. I needed the extra length when I got a new truck so that the tail gate did not hit he post on the front of the trailer.

You mentioned that the ball mount was not long enough for your application. How much distance would you need to be able to open the tailgate.
