Gray Bracket and Single Wire Plug for Thin-Line Series Trailer Clearance and Side Marker Lights

This kit combines a gray molded ABS, surface mount bracket and a molded plastic, single-wire plug for use with the MC65 Series lights. The bracket and plug unit measures 4-1/16" long x 1-1/16" wide x 1/2"D, with a molded lead wire attached. The light contains a single lead wire for power and is grounded through the mounting hardware.

My 2006 Featherlite snowmobile trailer has 10 marker or clearance lights all around it. These are the bases that were OEM on the trailer. Only about half of the lights were working and most of them had tabs that were broken off that are supposed to hold the light lenses in place. These were a direct placement and fit perfect. The only issue I had is that the bullet connectors on these new brackets were smaller than the original brackets on my trailer. So at some point the company switched to smaller connectors. That's why I only gave them 4 stars. I had to cut the connectors off of the old brackets and solder them onto the new brackets.

In general, I am very pleased with the LED marker lights I ordered. One bit of advice, there is a "zero clearance" fit between the light itself and the mounting base. Therefore, the only screw that will work must be a tapered head which sits, fully recessed, within the mounting holes. The lights did not come with any mounting screws, so you must source your own.

Only issue was the plug on the end did not fit my FeatherLite trailer plug-in. It could have been a little sturdier.

I have six of these amber leds on my boat trailer now, adding two red leds rear facing on fender. My Trailer has plenty of bling and everyone sees it coming and going... Etrailer service is always great, shipping prompt and pricing is the best I have found.

Simple install, retrofit to old boat trailer. Drilled two hole, fastened with rivets, installed lights and wired. Total job for both sides took less than 30 minutes. Used
MCL63AB Thin line LED lights. Very bright!!

Recommended Self-Tapping Screws For Thin Line Series Trailer Clearance and Side Marker Lights
To mount the Thin Line Series Trailer Clearance and Side Marker Lights # A66PB you can use #10 truss head self-tapping screws from your local hardware store. Getting a 1-1/4" length should be more than enough to secure it to whatever you're wanting to.

Ground Connection Keeps Coming Loose on a Featherlite Trailer with LED Lights
I recommend using screws like you have done but also using a ring terminal to sandwich a wire going form the mounting location to some nearby steel. Having a ground wire attached like this should solve the problem. If running a wire is not feasible then I would still use screws but go ahead and use some blue Loctite, # LT37643, on the threads to keep them from loosening up. Ideally you will want a ground connection to bare steel. But it sounds like when the connection is tight the aluminum...

Mounting Base and Wiring Harness for Optronics Clearance Light # MCL63CAB
There are different bases you can use for clearance light # MCL63CAB. You can use base # A65B that you have referenced. For that particular base you would use wiring harness # A68P. We also have base # A65PB or # A66PB. With these you would use wiring harness # A65P with the single wire because the light will ground through the mounting studs of these bases.

Can Gray Optronics Thin Line Bracket # A66PB Ground with 2 Wire Trailer
The Gray Bracket # A66PB is designed to ground through it's hardware. If the metal on your trailer where you will mount this touches the trailer frame it would be fine to just run the power to the single wire of the bracket. Otherwise you can run your ground wire to the mounting stud of the bracket that has the gold colored strap ran to it on the side the light attaches to and you would be good that way as well.
