Ellen: Hey everybody. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a quick look at the Clearance Light Kit. This is going to give you five lights to go on the top of your vehicle to add a nice aesthetic to it and also help other drivers to see your vehicle, especially in inclement weather fog or anything like that. So it's going to come with everything you see laid out here on the table, let's take a closer look and make sure that this is going to be the right fit for you and talk about how the install is going to work. So you'll have your five lights, the way to get access into those lights is by this top screw here, it's just a Phillips head screw. The thing that I like about this kit, or these lights in general is that on the bottom they already have a pre-attached foam gasket, which is going to protect the mounting hardware or the mounting surface from any water getting in there, but also on the underside of this housing, there's also going to be another gasket there. So that helps to protect that inside with the bulb from any ingress of water as well.
The only spot where water could get in is going to be that spot at the top where that screw goes in. And it's up to you if you want to try to fix that by maybe putting a little dab of sealant or something in there whenever you get everything mounted in place but that's just one thing I noticed. I always think about that with lights of how is it going to protect against ingress of water or debris. So the bulb on the inside is an incandescent bulb and it is a 168 style bulb. So if you wanted to, you could replace those with LED bulbs.
They do make LEDs in that same style, which again, if it we're me, I probably would also do, just to make sure that you never have to get in there and change out that bulb. Although, as you can see, getting into the housing is really not all that difficult once they're installed it doesn't matter either. It's just a matter of taking that one screw out, popping the cover off and then taking that light out. So not too big of a deal. I'm going to show you what it looks like whenever it's illuminated. So you can get an idea of how bright it is.
So we just have the one wire to worry about it's going to be our power wire and then the ground will be created by this ring that our hardware goes through. So I'm just going to stick my ground connection in there, turn on my power. You can see that light comes on, give you a better idea of what it looks like in the dark. So nothing that's going to be super bright, but you don't really want it to be terribly bright, you don't want to blind anybody with these lights, they're just there as a clearance light indicator for other folks on the road. And as far as what else comes in the kit, you do get a fuse.So this is the barrel style fuse to go in between the power wire and your positive terminal on the battery or your positive side of the power connection.
It comes with almost 10 feet of red wire for that positive side of your connection, it's about 9 feet 10 inches when I measured it out, and then you get 10 inches of ground wire and that's going to be for the switch itself. So it also comes with a switch, which allows you to wire this separate of your vehicle's lights, so you don't have to worry about cutting or splicing into your vehicle's wiring, you can just have its own dedicated switch to turn those on and off. If you wanted to, you could go through and connect it to your running light circuit or something like that, it'd be a little bit more involved of an install, but that is an option it's up to you and then you wouldn't really need this. But if you do decide to use this, that switch, the red part will light up whenever it's turned on to give you that visual cue that the lights are on.It also comes with five quick splice connectors to make your connections to the lights and the wiring, the screws to mount those in place and then two more screws to mount our switch. Something that I would maybe do, it depends on how you're getting into these. These quick splicer connections can be really good for any tight space where you don't have a lot of room to work. You just want to be careful with those, that you make sure that you get a really good crimp, because basically it's just going in and pressing on that little blade to make your connections, you'll put the two wires that you're connecting together, crimp that blade down and then close this little door over it. So I've seen these fail sometimes, they're easy to mess up, so that's just one thing. They make me a little bit nervous because I don't want to have to get in there and redo my wiring if I don't have to but just be careful with those. If you want, you could switch them out for just regular butt connectors but even with those, you want to be careful to make sure you get a really good crimp on the wire, so you're not having to mess with any of that wiring later. Let's take a couple measurements just so you can get a feel for how big these are. So length wise, looking at about five and a half inches long by about two and a quarter, they stand about an inch and three quarters tall at the very tallest point, they do have a bit of a curve to them to go along with the contour of your roof, so that's nice that they have that contour already built in. So two and a quarter, five and a half, one and three quarter. We've got our two mounting holes there. The distance between those two center to center roughly is about three inches and that's really about all there is to it for our look at this kit. I will give you one last measurement of the switch. It's about one and three eighth inches long by about one and three quarter inches tall and about five eighth of an inch deep. This has an offset to it as well to match up and angle it out from your dash. I hope this has been helpful in deciding if this is going to be the right kit for you. Our customers really like this kit, it really adds a lot to your vehicle's look overall and should be pretty straightforward to get installed. Thanks for watching.
Shipment was very fast. order complete. price was fantastic.. WILL use this company again ..AND AGAIN
Thanks
Just what I was looking for, great product for the price, after I ordered this product it got here with in a couple of days. I am impressed and would recomend etrailer.com to any of my friends. Thank You
Works great. Looks good, seals, real good against the body. Everything's there all the hardwar
Wire connectors, gasket.!!
Bought these to replace UV torn lights on my Jayco Greyhawk motorhome. Perfect replacements. I dabbed rtv on screw heads just for extra piece of mind.
Anout a year ago, I've bought Vents, an exhaust fan for a restoration project RV and Jackpads for our current RV. I have yet to install the Vents and fan due to time, but the pads we used on our vacation this past summer. I was disappointed with the Jackpads' product/company, but etrailer was very helpful on that. I am very impressed though, that after a year, that etrailer sends me an email asking, "how the products are working out for me?".
Funny thing is, I WAS thinking about the exhaust fan this morning and contemplating installing it.
It shows alot about a company that THINKS of their current and past customers. Not a very much of THAT now in today's business world.
Thank you etrailer.
These lights worked very well as a replacement for my old, UV damaged, cracked and weathered marker lights. The only problem I ran into was that the actual bulb in these lights was not the one listed in the description (#67), but that was understandable once I received them, it was also incorrect on the actual packaging. This was only a problem for me because I had ordered LED bulbs to put in these the same day as I placed my order from etrailer. I believe the bulbs in these have a wedge style base.
I used these on the front and rear of the vehicle, because I couldn't find a similar product with red lenses for the rear, however I put red colored LED bulbs in them and at night you would never know the lens is amber.
The teardrop and rectangular lights are both exact drop-in replacements for ones' made in 1995! Price was right and delivery was quick. Could not ask for more! Picture shows before and after of a few

One year after install and looking good!
I was looking for replacement lenses for the cracked and faded front clearance lights on my 2005 American Coach Motorhome. Although I didn't use the lamp bases, you can see in the attached photo, the lenses and gaskets were a perfect match for the OEM parts.
Looks great.
These match the OEM Ford running lights perfectly. All I had to do was solder on the plugs from my old ones and bolt them on.
Very happy with the roof light kit I received. Came by UPS in a timely manner. Wasn't to difficult to install. I would order again.
I ordered the CB-15AK to replace clearance lights on my motorhome. They appear to be almost identical to the original lights installed at the factory. However, one item to keep in mind is the lights come equipped with only a positive wire and ground through the mounting hardware. This is OK for installation on a metal roof but if mounting on a fiberglass roof you will need to run a ground wire for each of the lights.

Still working just fine. When I replaced the lights I only had to replace two that were cracked and leaking however, the amber covers fit the factory base so I replaced the other three with covers only.
These lights are 'almost' the same shape and size as the OEM lights installed on our motorhome. But after applying caulking around the base, lens, and screw it made no difference at all. Recommended for replacing those old UV damaged lights.

One year later and they still look great.
Purchased these over the cab market lights to replace ones on my Jayco Greyhawk (after repaint of camper) and they have been trouble free - light is bright and where easily replaced/installed in original locations. Sealed with clear silicone/RTV for good measure. So far no leaks after one-year in the HOT Florida sun.
Great product exactly as described, good price.
I have shopped with etrailer for years

Working and looking good on my class A motorhome after a year
FYI, these tear drop lenses match the factory installed clearance lights on the front of my 89 Tioga class-c motorhome. The bulbs are the same, too.
Rather than rip out and re-wire in the new lights, I just replaced the faded lenses and foam gaskets, and swapped the bulbs with the new ones. Job done in 5 minutes.
look great lit up, installed at local shop. parts arrived very promptly
I like the lights a lot however one of them has an issue with the foam gasket curling up so if you look at the lights from the front one is very dim or not on at all. Other than that there are well worth the money and we’re easy to install.

They are working very well, thank you. Steve
What can I say? this is the second time I am shopping with etrailer and they are awesome.
Lights were cheap on price but are great quality. I am a real person and level of customer service is 110. If I got an average or poor customer service I would not shop with they again but I choose to return and will continue to do so because cs is very professional and I am very satisfied customer.
Product was easy to install, looks, works, perform like a champ!
Thank you etrailer.

These just arrived today. They shipped very quickly. I intend to use them as replacements for the lights on my class C motorhome. It looks like they'll work just fine. The price was great! Customer service was excellent as they called back to clarify shipping information. I would not hesitate to use etrailer.com again.
Just installed them this weekend, very simple installation nice classic look. Spliced them into my headlights so they come on when they do.
Lights work amazingly. A little on the dimmer side compared to oem lights but nothing a few cheap bulbs can’t fix. But 20 dollars was definitely worth it
The cab clearance lights I received from Etrailer.com were as advertised. Everything there for a quick and easy installation. Very satisfied. Thanks, Glenn

Im still in the same position. Have not used or installed vents yet due to unforseen circumstances. But I AM STILL IMPRESSED by Etrailer, who still is concerned about how the products are working out for me. Needless to say, I am still disappointed with the Snap Pads. I was hoping that the other two would fall off during our recent vacation trip back east. That way I can go back to what I usually use. Which always worked for me.
