Video Transcript for Firestone Fuse Circuit Tap Kit Installation

Today we're going to take a look at the Firestone Fuse Circuit Tap Kit, part number is F2526. Our fuse circuit tap kit allows us to use an existing fuse in our fuse panel to draw power off of for additional accessories. This is going to save us the hassle of splicing into our factory wiring harnesses. Essentially what it's going to allow us to do, choose the fuse we're going to use, this is our tail light circuit fuse, I'm going to pull that out, it's going to go in the bottom slot. You can see I've already installed our other 10 amp fuse on the top, that's going to create a fuse for this wire. We've got our normal fuse circuit here, and an additional fuse circuit here where we will be able to get our power. This circuit tap comes with several sizes, you've got a 10, a 20, and a 30 amp fuse that you can pick from.

You want to get that slid down in and then it's just a matter of connecting our 12 volt wire right there. Then all we'll have to do is crimp it down. Now with our fuse circuit tap kit installed you'll see we've got full power to our accessory, allowing it to illuminate any time we turn on our running lights. That will complete today's installation of the Firestone Fuse Circuit Tap Kit, part number F2526.

After watching etrailer's video, I purchased this item with the ETBC7 kit. Worked as it should. I routed the wiring a little different so I didn't have to cut the fuse case cover. The price is more than others but I didn't care. Their video alone was worth paying the difference in price. 485623

The customer service at etrailer is awesome. When I discovered that I had ordered the wrong fuse circuit I sent a note via their website asking for help. They got back to me right away and helped me find the correct part. They also sent me clear instructions on how to return the original part. I'll be ordering from etrailer again and again I'm sure. 612034

This fuse tap made getting power from a switched power source relatively easy. I used it to provide power from a fuse that was hot with the ignition switch in the accessory or run position so that the solenoid for my trailer wiring and trailer brake controller would be hot whenever the switch was in either of those two positions. I picked a fuse for an item that wouldn't normally have a high demand current so that adding the solenoid wouldn't overload the fuse or the circuit. The final installation of the fuse tap was made in the engine compartment fuse box of my 2001 Toyota Tundra. The wire coming off the fuse tap was just barely long enough for my installation but worked out fine once I moved the solenoid closer. The whole setup has been working without any issues for a year now even though I only occasionally tow the trailer. The solenoid is powered every time I drive the truck and I've had no blown fuses! 436378

Someone called from etrailer almost immediately and straightened everything out. Even with my mess up I got the order in two shipping days! Great company, great service, great prices, and unbelievable array of products...not even mentioning the incredible help and information available on line. I wish we could clone these guys. 161008

On a scale of 1 to 10 I would have to give etrailer customer service an 11+. This item was out of stock when the order was placed. I received several emails as to the progress of my order. They even offered the option of canceling my order. The product was as advertised when it arrived. I have used etrailer before and plan to use it again in the future. 68130

  • Parts Needed to Wire Prodigy Brake Controller in Peterbilt Semi Pulling EOH Trailers
  • We do offer brake controllers such as the Hayes Air Actuated Trailer Brake Controller # HA100400C that takes in air pressure and converts it to an electrical signal for trailer brakes, but this item is not compatible with electric-over-hydraulic brakes, only electric drum brakes. For your application I suggest the Prodigy P2 # 90885 that you referenced. It has a setting for EOH brakes. You will also need an installation kit # ETBC7 to enable a hardwired installation. The challenge will...

  • Parts Needed to Install Brake Controller and Wiring on a 2017 Chevy Express 3500 Van
  • I will be happy to help you find all of the parts you need to tow your trailer with brakes using your 2017 Chevy Express 3500 Van! To install a fully functional 7-Way connector, and ultimately a brake controller, on your Express Van you will need 4-Way wiring that carries the basic trailer light functions and the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7. For the basic light functions I recommend going with the T-One # 118392 which simply plugs in behind your tail lights (see attached installation...

For your Suburban you will instead want the Derale Hyper-Cool # D15960 which is essentially the same cooler with fan but designed to work with the 1/2 inch lines. An adapter isn't needed as the compression fitting that comes included with this cooler should work perfectly. A transmission...

These Zero-contact interface senors idetify the current flowing through each wire by simply clamping around it. It has a circuit protecting module to protect your vehicle wiring and connects directly to the battery for power. This harness...

You will also need some extra 16 gauge wire # 16-1-1 and Heat Shrink Butt Connectors # DW05744-5. • When the Primus IQ brake controller # TK90160 displays two dots this indicates that the unit is getting 12V power from the battery and that it does not detect any trailer connected at the 7-way. This is totally normal. The tiny amount of power required to light up the display will not drain your battery so long as it is operated from time to time. It would take many months of this for the controller to have any effect on your battery. The two studs near your power distribution box carry...

  • What is Firestone Fuse Tap F2526 Used For
  • The fuse tap in question for Firestone air bag kits such as # F2581 is # F2526 and it comes with fuses already so you would not have to use your own. The included fuses are a 10 amp, 20 amp, and 30 amp. The fuse tap is used to easily get power to the air bag system by tapping into the fuse panel rather than hardwiring to a 12 volt circuit. It isn't required but does make installation a little easier. I have included a link to a video showing an example installation.

There would be a minimum amperage draw for the way you are using it since the middle pin of the # TR118665 will only be looking for signal to complete the solenoid's circuit.
