The brake controller I recommend is the Tekonsha P2, part # 90885. This is our most popular brake controller because it is easy to set up and operate. You will need to find the wiring under the dash of your Safari and hardwire the brake controller. I have attached a helpful article that explains how this is done. I do recommend using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 when working with the wiring to make sure you know the function of each wire.
To install the P2 you will need to locate wires on your Safari to hook the P2 to. The white wire will need to be attached to a clean bare metal surface and is the ground.
The blue wire will need to be run to the 5-o'clock position on the 7-way connector at the back of your motor home. You can use brake wire like part # 10-1-1, which is sold by the foot. I have attached a photo that shows which wire location you should use.
The black wire needs to be run to the positive post on your battery. You can use # 10-1-1 for that as well or you can use our jacketed 2 wire, part # 10-2-1. You would just remove the outer jacket and you can use the 10 gauge wires.
If you do not have a stop light switch at the top of your brake pedal under the dash, you will need to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2992 to test the wires and find the wire that only shows current when the brake pedal is pressed. Or you can check the fuse panel and find the stop light or brake fuse and use a fuse tap like part # F2526.
For the wiring at the back of your Safari, I recommend installing part # ETBC7. You would need to cut the 4-way plug off and use the circuit tester to test the wires at the rear of the RV for function. You would attach them to the ETBC7 so that they match the wiring configuration of the 7-way connector on your tow dolly. I have attached a photo of a 7-way connector that shows the wiring configuration for a traditional connector. From the manual you sent me on the tow dolly, this one matches the wiring of the tow dolly and will work well for you. I have attached a drawing that shows how the wiring for the ETBC7 is run you can check out.
