Video Transcript for Let’s Check Out the Ring Terminal

Michael: Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a very quick look at this Deka ring terminal. This ring terminal is going to allow you to easily connect your wires to a stud, so like on a battery or something like that where you need a nice solid connection. This does allow you to crimp the vinyl installation down onto your exposed wire. This is going to have an internal diameter right about 3/8 of an inch. So it's going to be good for your 3/8 inch diameter studs, will fit right up in there.

This is going to work for your 12 and 10 gauge wires, will fit right in there, allow you to crimp down on them and give you that nice secure connection to attach to your stud. That's going to complete our look at the Deka ring terminal. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com, thanks for watching.

I have been dealing with etrailer for about five years and have never been disappointed. Products are as described and work well, the web-site is excellent and customer service is fantastic. One instantly gets to talk with efficient well-informed people without any of the usual run-around. The instructional videos, for example mounting of trailer hitches, are extremely good, and prices are competitive.

I just purchased a Ranger Bass boat and the wiring is very old and the lights don't work. I found everything that I needed to completely replace and install new wiring and lights. This is a very good website to find and get exactly what I needed. I would highly recommend that people shop this site for all their trailer wiring needs.

  • What Gauge Wiring Comes on the 12 Inch AKEBRK-7-SA Brakes?
The wiring on the Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting - 12" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 5.2K to 7K # AKEBRK-7-SA will be 10 to 12 gauge. I prefer the Deka 10 gauge # 10-1-1 (sold by foot) paired with the Deka Heat Shrink Butt Connectors # DW05745-5 to complete the install. As a side note, with both wires being black, either can be the power wire. It is always a good idea to ground each wire that is not used to its own specific source as well. • How To Wire etrailer Electric A-Frame Jack With Footplate To 2004 Jayco Jay Flight Travel Trailer
The etrailer Electric Jack w/ Footplate # EJ-3520-WBX only has one power wire coming out of the jack. It gets its ground connection through the mounting plate which is grounded to the trailer. You can run the power wire to the coach battery on your 2004 Jayco Jay Flight and attach it to the 12 volt positive terminal. If you do not have a terminal to attach the wire a Ring Terminal # DW05705-1 will give you a 3/8" inner diameter ring to attach to the battery post. The coach battery should...

For your 2021 Jeep Wrangler, you actually can not splice into the brake wire. For this reason, you will want to use the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751490 instead. This kit will connect to an inline fuse to your vehicles positive terminal on your battery, and the other wire would route up to the front of the vehicle by the electrical connector. You will need to use the Spectro 12-Gauge Mini Fuse Holder # SWC9545 and the Ring Terminal # DW05705-1 with the included 10amp fuse...

Yes, you can utilize her current 4-way adapter and then add the 10 gauge wire and 40 amp circuit breaker to give her a 7-way with the functions she needs. You can get everything you need in the # ETBC7 wiring kit. I've attached an article and a video to assist. If you prefer to piece things together, you can get wire # 10-1-1 sold by the foot, circuit breaker # 9510, ring terminals # DW05705-1, and Hopkins Adapter # 37185. • Troubleshooting Curt Echo Wireless C51180 Having No Lights When Installed On 2020 Toyota Highlander
For the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 to work it needs the 12v power circuit of the 7-way connector to be active. Do you happen to know if the Mechanic ran a power wire from the 7-way connector to the battery of your 2020 Toyota Highlander? If he did not then the 12v power circuit will not be active as it is not part of the factory 4-way connector. • Trailer Brake Lights Do Not Work When Connected have a 96 ranger with seprate turn and brake
Whenever any type of adapter like # PK12716 is used to mate different types of connectors on the vehicle and trailer, connection problems can develop because of all the extra contact points. The best way to go is to install a new connector on the trailer that directly matches that on the tow vehicle so that you can avoid using an adapter. This is easily done by using a junction box like # 38656 and a new 7-way plug like # H20044. All you need to do is verify the function on each trailer...

  • 12 Volt Power At Trailer Connector Not Functioning on 2011 Ford F250
You likely have a bad or missing fuse or relay in the power distribution box under the hood. Look for a 25A fuse in position 90 and a relay in position # 102. Examine the fuse and replace if necessary. It's not typically possible to look at a relay and be able to determine if it's bad, but you can replace it with an adjacent relay to see if that activates the circuit. If that doesn't fix the problem, given the fact that the vehicle is 8 years old, before taking it to the dealer, I'd just...

  • Adding a 7-Way Trailer Connector and Brake Controller on a 2008 Toyota Tundra with 4-Way Connector
It sounds like your 2008 Toyota Tundra has a factory 4-Way trailer connector. A 4-way only has the basic light functions for a trailer. If the trailer also only has a 4-Way then it also has no wiring to the electric brakes. On the Tundra, to install a functioning 7-Way and brake controller you will actually need to use 4 to 7-Way adapter # 37185. Your factory 4-Way will plug into the back of this unit. You will then need to hardwire the remaining wires. The white wire needs to be grounded...

It sounds like your Big Tex trailer did not come with brakes. Based on this, to convert your trailer with no brakes, to adding electric brakes, on your Big Tex 35SA trailer, the first thing you need is a left and right brake kit. You could use the Dexter 23-26-27 kit (includes left and right) which matches your Dexter axle 4” X 4” brake flange.
