None of the trunk mount bike racks we carry will fit the 2013 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible because they cannot be safely secured to that style of Beetle.

Since you can't use a trunk mount or roof mount bike rack that leaves a trailer hitch as your option to carry bikes. For the convertible models we have Curt trailer hitch # C11354.

This is a Class I trailer hitch so you will need a Class I bike rack and it is limited to carrying 2 bikes maximum. Curt also requires the use of stabilization strap # 18050 when using this hitch for non-trailer loads, such as a bike rack.

For a bike rack I recommend the Swagman Trailhead, # S63360. It is Class I compatible, holds 2 bikes, and has a rise in the shank for added ground clearance. I have linked a video review of this rack to the right for you.

If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have to use these adapters and without them my wife's bike would be at a severe angle and I would not be able to load my son's bike at all. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.
