Features to know about

Carry More Gear Without Compromise: 2" Class III Hitch Receiver with 3,500 lbs GTW

When you want to tow a small trailer, mount a bike rack, or haul extra cargo, this hitch gives you the flexibility to do it. With a 2" x 2" receiver opening, it’s compatible with most ball mounts, racks, and carriers. The Class III rating supports up to 3,500 lbs gross trailer weight and 350 lbs tongue weight, giving you the strength for light- to moderate-duty towing and accessory use. It’s the kind of add-on that lets your vehicle handle weekend trips, road adventures, or everyday hauling with ease.

Keep It Looking Clean: Concealed Cross Tube and Matte Black Powder Coat Finish

This hitch is built with a concealed cross tube so only the receiver is visible once installed. The matte black powder coat over a protective base coat resists rust and corrosion while hiding dirt, scratches, and dings better than glossy finishes. That means it keeps its rugged look longer—perfect if you like your vehicle to stay sharp even after plenty of miles on the road.

Comparison of matte carbide black trailer hitch finish versus glossy black finish, showing texture and reflectivity differences.

Close-up view comparing matte carbide and glossy black trailer hitch finishes to highlight surface texture and durability differences.

Install It Yourself in an Afternoon: Bolt-On Design with Included Hardware

You don’t need to weld anything or track down special hardware for this setup. It’s a fully welded design that bolts directly to your vehicle’s frame using pre-drilled holes. The complete hardware kit and clear instructions come in the box, so you can install it at home with common tools and no drilling required. Once tightened down, you’ve got a sturdy, square-tube hitch ready for years of towing or carrying gear.

Fit perfectly. Easy to install.

by:

Piece of cake install. 76 years old and did it right my myself.
My mantra: "I've done so much with so little for so long right by myself till I can do almost anything with nothing when I'm not even there."

by:

I've only needed to use it a few times for this little SUV, but it holds up my little camper just fine.

by:

This hitch receiver hitch fit our SUV perfectly. It is a little snug when getting over the muffler and a piece of the rear bumper needs to be bent out of the way, but it is plastic and will snap right back into shape. I'd recommend cleaning out the threads of the frame before trying to install his as ours was full of several years of rust and road debris. Guess we should have opted for that true coat. It is a nice low profile hitch that works well for smaller loads, like a bike rack.

Perfect. No issues at all

by:

Excellent service I had doubts about how fast and easy the purchase was, but he was excellent punctual service and I received the article as it is in the publication, I already installed it and it was perfect

by:

Perfect fit for my RX450h.. It took about a couple of hours to install. The most time consuming part was cutting the plastic to clear the hitch.

by:

Perfect fit, and couldn't have been easier to install.

by:

The hitch was exactly why I ordered and fit the vehicle to a T. I installed it single handed with a support cord. It’s working great a year later.

We apologize that happened and thanks for reaching out. This hitch wouldn't install properly on a 2019 Ford EcoSport Titanium. This hitch is a confirmed fit for: 2011 - 2015 Kia Sportage excluding SX models 2010 - 2015 Hyundai Tucson

by:

I wish you guys would of shipped my trailer hitch and wiring together but came very fast

by:

Looks great , have to wait 2 weeks to get it installed.

My needs were fulfilled!!!

It was a great fit.

I think the product was very good but the install was horrible. After confirming the right hitch receiver for my year, make and model car... it seemed like it wasn't quite right. I brought my car and the hitch to a very experienced auto mechanic, who has installed many hitches before. After trying to get the hitch installed, he needed to saw off a small steel piece under my car to even get the hitch to line up properly on the sides. After it was lined up, there was a 4" gap between the underside of the car and the hitch. We had to buy 4" bolts and spacers for the hitch to be mounted flush with the car so there would be no give. With the 4" difference between the car and hitch and the 4" bolts and spacers, the hitch rests on my exhaust pipe. My very quiet car that was so quiet you couldn't even tell it was running... is now rumbling loud with the hitch installation rubbing on the tailpipe. I am sad and frustrated with this experience, as it was supposed to be easy installation and a better way for me to transport my bicycle. Now all I think about is the installation and my loud car.

It is surprising that you had this experience with the hitch. Would you be able to confirm the year, make, and model of the vehicle? Can you send pictures of how it looks installed.

by:

I selected the proper vehicle for the hitch I needed. They still sent me the wrong hitch. I have a dodge caravan and they sent me a Hyundai Tucson hitch. I ordered a week before vacation and can’t get the correct one before vacation now. Have to cancel family vacation now.

by:

The hitch fits nicely on my Sportage. Watching the video to install it helped a lot! Shipped to Canada in only 4 days.

by:

The hitch is very well built, and it arrived promptly. The necessary hardware was included, and the installation were easy to follow.

by:

Fit perfectly once I cleaned out the mounting threads on my car ;) And I didn't have to move the muffler at all. Thanks so much!

This one arrived in better condition than the one i bought in july. Box was intact but hitch wasnt protected inside box against falls/crashes as mentioned to etrailer before.
Installation was a cinch for a 2011 Kia! And it fitted really nice just below the bumper. Looks great.

Didn’t fit the frame and didn’t come with nuts for the bolts. I need to know how to send back for a refund

Which vehicle are you trying to install the hitch on? If it's a Kia Sportage, the hitch fits the 2011 - 2015 Kia Sportage excluding SX models. The nuts aren't included because the bolts attach to nuts that are welded up into the frame members.

I called etrailer and dealt with Fred. This is my fourth hitch I bought through etrailer. Fred, like the other sales people at etrailer. Was committed to selling me what I needed. He did not push unnecessary things. Nor did he try to upsell me. He merely met my needs. This is why I'm buying my fourth trailer hitch through them. I appreciate all that everybody at etrailer does. They surely have a lifetime customer here. Plus, I do not refer many companies, because of issues that my friends may encounter. But with etrailer, I have confidence that they will do everything in their power to meet the needs of my referrals.

  • What Do I Need to Add a 7-Way and Tow a Trailer With Brakes on a 2014 Kia Sportage?
Hello John, Thanks for writing in! It all depends on whether your trailer has brakes. Either way, you'll start with the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56251. This gives your 2014 Kia Sportage the 4-way flat that controls the trailer's turn signals, brake lights, and running lights. If your trailer does not have brakes and you just need the 7-way for your lights and 12V power, you will want the TowSmart 7-Way RV Style to 4-Flat or 5-Way Flat Trailer Connector Adapter # TS98RR....

Hey Jim, There unfortunately isn't a custom-fit trailer hitch available for your 1990 Volkswagen Cabriolet so you'd have to get in touch with a local fabricator shop and have them build you one using a receiver tube like the # 337RT255808. They'll need to determine the drop needed from the frame to clear the rear fascia and the build the crosstube to fit around the exhaust and any other components under the vehicle. • Availability Of Trailer Hitch For 2024 VinFast VF8
Hello Stratis, thanks for reaching out. I am sorry to say that we do not offer a trailer hitch for the 2024 VinFast VF8. Since these cars are so new to the US market, none of our manufacturers have developed a hitch for it yet. Hello Michael. We do offer a hitch for the 2022 Honda HR-V EX, but the # e54KR hitch you mentioned will not fit. That hitch is only for a Kia Sportage or Hyundai Tucson. For the 2022 Honda HR-V we offer the Curt Hitch # C11416 for a 1-1/4" receiver, or the EcoHitch # 306-X7322 for a 2" receiver.
