Features:

  • Strap provides extra support for your hitch receiver when you use a hitch-mounted bike rack or cargo carrier
    • Limits torque placed on hitch receiver by heavy accessory
    • Evenly distributes weight to stabilize hitch accessory and prevent bouncing
  • Cam buckle design allows for quick connection and release
    • Attach one end to the bike rack and the other end to the vehicle
    • Pull strap through the cam buckle and towards front of the vehicle to increase tension for a secure fit
  • Vinyl-coated hook won't scratch your vehicle

Specs:

  • Dimensions: 61" long x 1" wide
  • Quantity: 1 strap
  • 1-Year limited warranty

Note: Remove the hook before opening or closing the hatch or trunk to avoid damage to your vehicle.

This strap is recommended for use with bike racks and other hitch-mounted accessories to avoid putting too much strain on your trailer hitch. Some Class I and Class II 1-1/4" hitches may require that you use a stabilizing strap to ensure that the hitch does not experience excessive torque while transporting your gear.

excellent service.

Thank you!

by:

Installation instructions were excellent. Product quality excellent. Showed up in a day and a half.

by:

A very simple product that keeps my bike carrier from swaying, and does not scratch my cars paint. Connects very quickly.

by:

A great product. Cambuckle holds very well and strap supports rack to reduce swaying. Easy to use.

by:

Made for the job! It was perfect for holding the muffler when installing the hitch and just the thing for tying down the cargo.

by:

The Curt Trailer Hitch Strap is what the doctor ordered for my 2012 Nissan Juke. After some trial and error I got it around the bike carrier and clipped in my hatchback. It performs as advertised. Bikes are much more stable.

by:

The hitch and the bike rack were very good. Easy to install on my Forrester, but the 45 minute time frame talked about in the video was way off for the hitch. It took just under 2 hours which is still OK.
Very pleased with the products.

by:

I just installed the piece. It was not an easy job to do by myself at home, but it was not impossible either. With a little wrangling - some supports and shims I was able to put it together nicely.

Next project the wire harness. Wish me luck please.

The design and material are fine. The only issue I have is the hook is too shallow and it does not securely connect to the cross bar of the roof rack. The cross bar is quite thick. I believe the hook is designed to connect to the thin metal of a car trunk cover.

by:

Thanks to etrailer.com for carrying accessories for hitches. The Curt trailer hitch support strap will transfer the torque load from the hitch receiver to the car's body and avoid possible hitch failure. The strap is well made with a well protected hook to avoid scratching the paint on the car. The attachment is simple and effective.

by:

The Curt 18050 bicycle stabilizing strap attaches to our Subaru Forester and Thule bike rack really well. The Curt hitch requires this when using a bike rack.

by:

Should have bought this sooner. It keeps the hitch receiver bike rack from bouncing so much. This is important in my case because the hitch is bumper mounted and was starting to sag. It solved this problem. It does not have to support the weight just snug to stop the bounce.

by:

Strap is used on my 2012 Escape to support my hitch mounted bike rack. Only issue I have is that the hook that goes on the vehicle is a little hard to actually get over the edge of the liftgate. Works fine and definately does the job.

I use use a Curt Hitch "Flat Carrier"
https://www.etrailer.com/Hitch-Cargo-Carrier/Curt/C18110.html
for
loads on my 2005 Prius.
Bought the recommended support strap and liked the way it took the up-down bounce stress off the hitch, but the carrier still wobbled left to right, rotating slightly within the hitch receiver. Bought a second strap and the two stabilized the load very nicely. I needed a light cord between the two straps at the top of the hatch door to encourage them not to slide off the corners of the door.

I am quite pleased with our flat carrier. We keep the loads low enough & centered enough to not block the brake lights and the license plate. Weve used it to carry bikes as well.

by:

Outstanding product. The stitching and material are heavy duty. Looks great on my Honda Accord and Thule bike rack. Thanks!

Product works great just like day 1. I look forward to many years of use when maintained properly.

The strap helped to stabilize the bike rack .. Strong & sturdy .. If you get the bike rack & hitch spend the extra for this ... Worked great on my 2013 vw beetle convertible ..

by:

We were very impressed with the quality of the Curt Trailer hitch we purchased, its price and how quickly it arrived.
We had the hitch installed by a very good local mechanic for a fraction of the cost quoted by our Honda dealer.
The hitch support strap that was recommended works perfectly with this hitch.
We highly recommend this hitch to anyone.

by:

Great stabilizing straps! Have used them for 8 years, and recently lost the pair I used to secure and steady bikes. These are a must-have on long drives if your hitch mounted rack has any play in it. They are excellent if you have a hatchback or trunk lid you can hook to. Highly recommend!

by:

Very handy straps th help support my e-bike on my hitch rack.

by:

Great product with many premium feature s.

by:

The Curt Cam buckle stabilizing. Strap works great. I was a bit skeptical at first but it really helps a lot of the wobble that occur without it. Definitely recommend.

by:

Install was very easy, instructions were clear.

Be sure to use WD-40 to loosen up the muffler attachments. That one step alone made this job easier than I expected.

This hitch is used to attach a goal post, so I can carry my kayaks on top.

Great customer service, the best.

Box to hitch 1 minute.
2 ebikes and
ready to roll 10 minutes.
A whole new world has opened up. This is absolutely the easiest, most versatile rack ever. At 65, my days of putting a light bike on a roof rack are over. This will handle almost anything.
The service and attention to detail was amazing. The eTrailer team seems like friends at the local bike shop. BUY IT HERE!
Gotta go, mountains to ride.

  • What is the Difference Between a Class II and a Class III Hitch?
The difference between the Class II and Class III hitches has to do with their Gross Trailer Weight (GTW), their Tongue Weight (TW), and their Hitch Receiver Size. Class II trailer hitch receivers have a 1-1/4 inch receiver and can be rated up to 3,500 lbs in GTW and up to 525 lbs in TW. Class III, on the other hand, have a 2 inch receiver and have up to 8,000 lbs GTW and 800 lbs TW. I will attach a help article that goes in to more detail for you. A good example of a Class II hitch that...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch to use Thule Bike Rack on 2017 Toyota Camry
The hitches available for your 2017 Toyota Camry, the Curt # C12107 and Draw-Tite # 36540 are extremely similar and it would be difficult to say that one would be "better" than the other for your Thule Roadway # TH912XTR. The most noticeable difference is that the Curt hitch will require you to use stabilizing straps # 18050 when using your bike rack in order to maintain the warranty. The Draw-Tite # 36540 does not have the same requirement so I recommend going with that option over the...

  • Do the Draw-Tite and Curt Trailer Hitches Require Drilling to Install on a 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon
Both the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75673 and the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13206 will require drilling to install on your 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon. It is only a 1-1/8" access hole though so it is pretty minimal. The reason why we tend to recommend the Draw-Tite trailer hitches over the Curt trailer hitches is because on a good majority or their trailer hitches (including this one) they require that a stabilizer strap like part # 18050 be used to help secure all...

  • Cargo Carrier With Ramp for RV to Carry Generator
For a cargo carrier that you'll be using on the back of a trailer you will need a fixed carrier as opposed to a folding one to have the best stability. There are a couple options for a fixed cargo carrier with a ramp for you. I recommend the Reese Steel Solo Cargo Carrier and Folding Ramp # PS10401-10402. I recommend the Reese because it does not have a speed restriction and also has the largest usable space of 47-3/4" long x 31-3/4" wide. It also has a 400 lb weight capacity which is...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver to Fit a 2014 Subaru Outback Wagon
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "direct fit" because all three of the Class III trailer hitch receivers we carry for your 2014 Subaru Outback are custom made and designed for your vehicle. The hitch that has the most factory-like look is the Ecohitch, part # 306-X7162. Once installed all you see is the open receiver tube under the rear bumper of your Subaru. Take a look at the picture I attached. The downside to this hitch is the install requries the bumper to be temporarily removed...

Yes, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13116 has been tested and is a confirmed fit for your 2018 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid. This is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver tube opening. It is made in the U.S.A. and comes with a lifetime warranty. The installation of this hitch is also very straightforward. • Can a 1-1/4 - 2 Adapter be Used to Safely Haul a Cargo Carrier with a 2015 Toyota Corolla
The concept of a hitch adapter like the Brophy # HTAD is a good idea in theory but the problem with using one of those with a 1-1/4" hitch, like part # C11265 or # 24913 for your 2015 Toyota Corolla, is that it will reduce the weight capacity of your trailer hitch by 50%. Since those trailer hitches have a tongue weight rating of 200 lbs this means that the tongue weight will be reduced to 100 lbs. We do have the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE # HLY74FR which would be able to carry your 75 lb E-Bike but this doesn't have a ramp so you'd have to muscle the bike up to the bike rack.
