Suspension Enhancement for 2022 Ram 3500 With Factory Air Ride Hauling Truck Bed Camper

Updated 04/09/2026 | Published 03/31/2026

Question:

Hello, I have a 2022 RAM 3500 CCLB Hemi with Factory Air Ride. Do stable loads or some similar product work for this vehicle w/ factory air ride, or what suspension upgrade would you recommend? I am carrying a Lance slide-in camper that weighs about 3k lbs loaded. The truck has a BDS lift kit 2inch front 1inch rear NX-2 shocks. My primary complaint is bouncing front / back / feeling of instability over bumps at higher speeds.

Hey Bryce! StableLoads are not compatible with the factory air ride system on your 2022 Ram 3500. Since you’ve already upgraded the shocks, what you're experiencing is more about how the truck is supporting and controlling that 3,000 lb camper.

The factory air ride takes away the ability to add any suspension enhancement because of where it installs. Everything sits in the same spot or will interfere with that system. The best option to add stability would be the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar # RM73FR. For the bouncing you probably need heavy-duty Bilstein shocks which we don't carry.

Any big trips coming up with your camper once you finish upgrading the truck?

Hi Bryce. 18 3500 CCLB Cummins here. Stock ride height. I pull a 41 foot toy hauler with a pin weight of just over 2600#. I put the T94VR units on mine. It sits level loaded and certainly is much more stable when pulling. My pickup did NOT come with the factory air ride, so I can't speak to whether or not the T94V product would fit...just that it works well on my setup and was an easy install.

I run the timbrens on my 2015 3500 ram dually w/ a artic fox 1150 slide in camper , wet weight like 5000 lbs . These stopped the body roll n stopped the bouncing back and fourth , I didn’t want air bags due to dry rot failure so I tried these and very happy with them , they only ride on them when camper is loaded in bed , when out the truck is back to its normal self n riding on its shocks

I installed the Timbren suspension on 2023 Ram 3500 C. C. with a service body. We also pull a trailer hauling a 13000 pound excavator. After a few trips of the truck shaking and bouncing down the road with and without a trailer I removed the Timbren system and it is laying in the shop. I would Not put one on another truck. I was really hoping they would help our ride in the truck but they done right the opposite.

Hi Robin, thanks for the reply. Are you suggesting I remove the factory airbag system and replace with these products? Don't they sit in the same place at the airbag is currently installed? Thanks.

@BryceR you're right, we don't have notes on it for the factory air suspension so I missed it. These are all installing where the bump stop is at and that suspension is in the way. I wouldn't remove it. The anti-sway bar # RM73FR you picked up is really all you can do to help improve the ride here because of that system. This will help with stability, but not the bouncing. Best solution for that would be heavy-duty Bilstein shocks.
