Question:
Im looking t two wire harnesses C56434 and 118801. Both are listed to fit my Rav4 Hybrid 2023. My question is whether the 118801 with the additional module protection is really needed. I plan on adding Lights to my bike rack brake and turn signals. That doesnt seem to be that big of an electrical load. So Im trying to understand if the added protection and cost is worth it. Thanks

Hi Mike; there are some slight design differences between the two but both of these actually have a powered converter. ModuLite is just the special name Tekonsha gives to their version of this. There are no options without a powered converter, and you definitely want the protection.
Regardless, you might as well go with the Curt # C56434 and save a little money. You won't notice a difference in performance, both will work well for your bike rack. If your rack doesn't have a specific light kit and you're looking for lights you can use the Curt Auxiliary LED Indicator Lights # C53201.
What kind of bike rack do you have?
