I had to replace a 3 year old tie down engineering caliper on my boat trailer. These are a little more rugged, a little bit beefier. They did fit directly onto the 090-44681x bracket from the old tie down engineering caliper.

+Its been a year since I got these. When I bought them I painted them with a bake on caliper paint. This is a boat trailer that gets ocean submerged about 80 times a season. The calipers look great and function like new.
I have bench tested all 4ea Kodiak Disc Brake Calipers with DOT 3 brake fluid. All 4 passed. I purchased these to directly replace the TDE 46304 disc brake Calipers. I am not a fan of the single metal spring that holds the pad to the piston. The manufacture design needs improvement. The 3 prong attachment on the piston pad worked best.
This is a replacement for a defective caliper I installed on 8/2025. It will not release, and overheated. My mistake to order that one from amazon. They passed the buck to wholesale marine, they told me I had to go to Dexter for warrenty. so far no credit.
The brake pad attachment spring that attaches to the piston is of poor quality. The brake pad pops back out of the caliper piston even before the caliper assembly can be installed. This will cause uneven rotor wear and braking failure. Unacceptable pad attachment condition
Perfect fit on my 2004 MasterCraft tandem axle trailer. Drop in replacement for the "Reliable" calipers that were on there.
Incredibly fast shipping, came loaded with pads and all the hardware needed to bolt them right up and bleed them. Couldnt be happier!

One year later - my only regret is not doing the Kodiak install sooner!
Replaced a failing pair of Tie Down Engineering (TDE) 46304 brake calipers with these Kodiak 225 calipers on my 7 year old Four Winns trailer with 12" discs. They fit exactly on the TDE brackets and are positioned perfectly on the TDE integrated 12" discs. Bled the brakes and the test drive was a success.
The trailer is garage kept and only used in fresh water lakes. The TDE pistons looked fine when I disassembled them. No rust, no crude. I cleaned and lubricated them and put them back on and bled the brakes. However, when one of them got hot the piston it would still stick and overheat the brake. Also, when backing up without the electric harness attached I could tell the brakes were attempting to stop, but I could still back up fairly easily, so I guessing the piston where binding in both directions although I could not tell that when I had them off the trailer. In contrast, the new Kodiak brake calipers will not allow me to back up at all unless I have the electric harness attached.
Direct replacement for my Tie Down Engineering 46304 caliper. Just installed so we’ll see how it holds up in saltwater. Brakes worked well.
This caliper fit perfect on a Tiedown equipped boat trailer without changing any mounting brackets. Time will tell how well it withstands salt water.
Part includes mounting bolts and brake pads. Xlnt value for money.
Looks to be a good caliper but I was disappointed that they did not have covers on the bleeder valves, first time buying this brand and they're the only ones that have not come with the cover.
The calipers were direct replacements for the set of four I had installed 4 years ago. Currently they are working fine and are being fed through new brake lines. Hopefully they will last longer this time but saltwater is hard on stuff. I rinse them every time with salt away. Only problem is that they didn’t come when promised, and I could have gotten them cheaper elsewhere on the same day as these came. 5 stars if they came when they were supposed to.
Once again etrailer came through for me! While performing brake and suspension maintenance on my 2019 Grand Design 337RLS I found one of my brake calipers was leaking fluid and the inside pad was virtually gone. Leaving for an extended trip in 4 days. etrailer got me a new caliper express shipped and after installing I have some breathing room before departure! Thank you again etrailer!!!
The brake bleeders don't work at all, and are very hard to loosen. Calipers stay pressed to the rotor making the wheels hard to turn, cerating friction which makes everything heat up more than it should. I don't recommend using these calipers.
These are better than original. Installation for a triple axle trailer only took an hour not including running brake lines.

good alternative to ufp caliper
Part was ordered for a customer. It was correct, installed with no problems, and worked well.
This is actually the second time I purchased one of these calipers. The first time was about a month back when one froze on me due to water in the brake system. Of course this happened the day before I was going on vacation.
While very happy with the quality of the caliper it was the customer service that was most impressive. I called in a panic in the early afternoon to see if I could get the part overnight. The sales consultant went way beyond what he could have done and hand delivered my order to shipping department so it would get out yet that day.
My point here is that you can buy good parts anywhere on the web these days but the reason I came back and will keep coming back was the service I got (get) from eTrailer's employees. That extra effort allowed me to leave on time for vacation with my family.
Oh and yeah Kodiak makes good stuff. Everything installed well and is working great. Thank you!

Everything has been working great. Still appreciate the excellent service I received and look forward to doing business with etrailer again.
I had to make one small modification to the install but aside from that, they are operating well.
