Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located inside your trunk, behind the tail lights on both the driver's side and passenger's side. You will need to remove some interior trim or carpeting to access the harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed within your trunk.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

This product was just as it was advertised, complete and easy to install. The service was also excellent.

I am usually not good with wiring in cars but this was really easy to do and to understand. There is a video too on this which I watched that helped me do it too. It only took 1 try to get it to work and it looks great!

by:

OMG, it was so easy to install and it works great ! Thank you e-trailer!

by:

With watching video it made this product super easy. Only problem was the undercarriage but had a friend that has a hoist and had a few problems getting it put where it needed to be. Putting the car back together now.

Thank You

2012 Chevy cruze wiring harness hooked up very easily shipping was extremely fast. Also ordered the Reese hitch. Exact fit. Thanks etrailer

Easy install. It's helpful to have two people to run power wire down the frame. other than that easy smeasy........ Thank you!

This has been a very good product. The installation was spot on with easy to follow instructions. If I could change one thing about the product it would be to make the 4 flat connector out of a softer rubber material that would make it easier to plug into

Still perfect.

by:

The wiring harness attached very easily to the vehicle harness. Instructions are quite accurate about attaching to the vehicle. Time to expose the wiring and attach the harness was short (maybe 15 minutes). The only time-consuming part is threading the power line to a power source near the fuse block under the hood. That part took me maybe 45 minutes, trying to run it in protected locations that were still hidden. I'm not sure how necessary that is, as opposed to tapping into live power near the back of the vehicle, but I followed the instructions. It works perfectly, so I'm not upset about the time required.

by:

A year later it still works... I threaded the power wire from the battery through the car cabin rather than under the car. I feel that the wire is less prone to damage. It was also much easier to do it that way on the diesel Cruze because of the body panels under the car....especially since I do not have a lift to work under.

The hitch works Great. As a matter of fact I need to order another hitch for my other car and when I do I will buy it from yall. Thank you again.

by:

Be aware, I'm a demanding person! ;-)

Overall,
working very fine! The little guide for installation was very appropriate. My first language is french and traduction was perfect, very rare... Important to get good crimp pliers to make good connexions (took some tries for me, good I had backup ones). Logs was a little bit to big for the place I prefered to connect on 12V + (but I had some of these too). To fix the relays module at the back of the car, I used an existing bolt available, but I searched a lot in my things to find good nut... That because I didn't want to make a new hole...

Suggestions for salers: add 2 wire-to-wire crimps, 5-6 tye-wraps, 2 logs crimps small and big as already given. I think it's good to paid 1-2 extra $ to prevent to get it somewhere...

2013 Chevrolet Cruze

Took about an hour to install on a diesel Cruze.

As a shade tree home mechanic, I found feeding the hot wire to the battery took about double the time it would take on a non-diesel model because 1) the diesel has extra sound deadening material that makes it difficult to find secure locations for the wire and 2) the diesel does not come with a spare tire or, more importantly in this case, a jack.

I solved problem #1 by drilling a small hole in the insulation and taping the wire to a long dowel. I then fed the dowel and wire through the insulation. Problem #2 was solved by borrowing a jack. I would not attempt to feed the wire to the battery without removing the rear wheel as most of places I could reach with the wheel on were not suitable for the wiring; either because they were too close to the exhaust or attached to moving suspension parts.

Your results may vary, but without a car lift I found it much easier to feed the wire from front to back then from back to front as shown in the video. Feeding from front to back, it was easy to tape the wire to my dowel and push it down from the very back of the engine compartment (a very small clearance) to the ground. Had I been coming the other way I think hitting the quarter inch gap without the aid of gravity or the dowel would have been the source of much amusement to any onlookers counting bad words coming from my mouth.

Product was fine. If you have read your owner's manual you know you should not under any circumstances be using the diesel model as a tow vehicle anyway, so unless you like paying out of pocket for a fried turbocharger on your new $27,000 car you better be using those lights for your Christmas decorations! As for me, I think the car is good for the occasional trip to Lowes with a lightweight trailer, so I thank e-trailer for providing the accessories.

by:
2013 Chevrolet Cruze

Extremely pleased with the plug and play design. The video online from eTrailer was the biggest help for this product as the directions were just a little too generic and not specific for the 2013 Chevy Cruze. The power cable was fairly easy to run under the car up to the battery for installation.

by:

Easy install with video tutorial every thing was there and assembled perfectly. I have told many of how smooth it went and at a reasonable price

by:

Shipped quickly, was easy to install, and matched my car perfectly. Would purchase other wiring harnesses from etrailer again.

by:
2012 Chevrolet Cruze

I choose to buy from etrailer a second time, I previously bought one for my 2002 Nissan Maxima and I had got hit with my trailer on, the hitch held up fantastic, I was very impressed that their product did not buckle, the the ball and male hitch took the damage and bent. I will install the wires and hitch soon for my Chevy Cruze, from the videos I have watched, it looks simple, the last one I installed was not bad to do so I am not worried about this one. Would recommend, anyone with basic mechanical knowledge will not struggle installing.

by:

Well designed wiring package goes on easily and effectively. Video is helpful and shows exactly the proper installation technique. Only difficult part is running the wire under the car and up to the battery avoiding the exhaust and still keeping it secure from snow/ice in the winter. No hidden issues, wiring worked right the first time. Job well done, took about an hour start to finnish and no special tools involved. Thanks for making a difficult task so easy!

by:
2016 Chevrolet Cruze

I just got done installing this on my 2016 Chevy Cruze Limited. It was a fairly easy install, I just followed along with the video. I just backed my car onto ramps to run the power wire. The only thing I did different was I ran the wire from the battery to the trunk instead of trunk to battery. I used a tester and everything worked as should.

by:

Great product, easy installation, several thousand miles pulling a trailer with this hitch and not one issue.

by:

Works great, easy installation. Now I can tow my teardrop camper and boat with the car that gets better fuel mileage.

by:
2015 Chevrolet Cruze

Package arrived in excellent condition and in a timely manner . Very professional and great to work with. The hitch was in great condition and I'll be installing the hitch and harness tomorrow .

2014 Chevrolet Cruze

Installed this on my 2014 Chevy Cruze diesel. It took a little bit longer to install than anticipated due to the need to run the power line to the battery. The rest of the install was plug and play. I viewed the install video prior to my attempt. The video definitely made it easier to figure out how to get panels off. Am currently using it on a long (>3000 mile) trip and so far is working like a champ.

I checked with the manufacturer, and can verify that the only Curt trailer hitch receiver that fits your 2016 Chevy Cruze Limited is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11425. All of the trailer hitches available for your 2014 Chevy Cruze, including # 24882, are Class I hitches which have a tongue weight capacity of 200 pounds maximum. This is the first hurdle because the combined weight of the dirt bike and the carrier would have to be under 200 pounds.
