Question:
I have a 2012 Chevy Cruze. Ive watched the videos. Im wondering why the power line to the battery isnt run inside the car and hook up to the fuse box. Running outside along the frame is asking for trouble.

The power wire for harness # 118508 can't connect to the fuse box. It has to go to the battery on your 2012 Chevy Cruze. You can route the wire to the battery any way you want. Along the frame, through the frame, through the interior of the vehicle. It depends on what you want to do.
There are other wiring harnesses under the vehicle that you would secure the power wire to. So its not like it is just hanging there. And of course you would want to avoid exhaust and suspension parts; anything that could damage the wire. You follow those rules and running it along the frame under the vehicle works quite well. I have included a link to a help article with tips on routing the power wire.
