Features to know about

Adds Both 4-Way and 7-Way Connections: One Plug for Any Trailer

Switching between trailers can mean swapping connectors, but this socket handles both. The Hopkins 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket gives you a standard 4-flat for basic lighting and a 7-blade for trailers with brakes or extra power needs. You can hook up small utility trailers or larger campers without needing adapters.

Built for Easy Replacement: Direct Plug-In Factory Connection

If the factory connector is damaged or missing, this piece plugs right into the existing round harness at the back of the vehicle. No splicing or rewiring is needed—just disconnect the old one and snap this in. It’s a quick, OEM-style fix that restores full trailer wiring function in minutes.

Stays Secure with Spring-Loaded Covers: Protected Electrical Contacts

Keeping dirt and water out of trailer wiring can be tough, but the spring-loaded lids on both connectors lock down tight once closed. They also help hold trailer plugs firmly in place so they won’t shake loose on rough roads. That means clean connections and reliable signals every time you tow.

Includes Mounting Bracket: Ready to Bolt On

The included bracket lets you mount the connector right at the hitch or bumper for a clean, reachable setup. It lines up using standard screw holes for a solid fit that doesn’t require any improvising. Once bolted down, it’s ready to plug in and go towing.

I just received my package from Etrailer.com and it was nice to open the box and have the right part/part I ordered arrive. Opened up the box staged my parts and started the install. It was very easy with the instructions that were sent and the video on their site that anyone can do this install with no issues. Hitch was on in no less than 15 mins from opening of the box to final torquing of the bolts.

The customer service at this company is top notch. I have never had anyone from a company email me before after ordering from them like I did with this company and in business today you are seeing less and less of this type of customer care and service. AWESOME job Guys and Gals I will buy all my accessories from here.

by:

I just received this connector today, and I haven't installed it yet, but it looks like it will plug right in to the plug on my truck, so I can remove the damaged one and replace it with one that will allow me to connect with a 7-pole or a 4-pole trailer without an adapter. Bonus!

by:

I really like this trailer plug since it converts a standard 7 Wire plug into both a 7 wire and 4 wire. It plugs directly into the factory wiring harness. it comes with everything you need to mount it (bracket and self tapping screws). It was an easy install. My 05 Chevy Tahoe had the factory 7 wire outlet bracket, I left that in place and mounted this bracket just to the left of it. I highly recommend this product.

by:

Cutting out plastic was a little tricky wish it mounted a little easier but once installed works great, so far.

by:

Excellent product. On certain vehicles you will need to shim the mounting bracket in order to clear the plastic trim on the bumper step. No big deal, just know that, and test for clearance, before setting the bracket with Loctite.

by:

Plugged right in and fit the chevy bumper hole perfectly. Took maybe 5 minutes tops to install.

After 1 year this mounting bracket is holding up great. No rust and is still extremely solid.

by:

I really like this product. I like that the 7 blade and the 4pin plugs are internally wired. It is truley a 'plug-n-play' unit and even has corrosion preventitive in the pins. The reason I did not give this kit an 'excellent' rating is the mount bracket is too short. This required that a use a 1 inch spacer and longer bolt to attach the mount so the trailer plug could be inserted.

by:

The customer service Rep: Lexus G. was extremely helpful in directing me to exactly what I needed! Upon receiving the package, I was impressed with the way that the items where protected for shipping. The overall quality of the Hitch and Trailer Connector Socket where impeccable. The entire removal and installation of both units took no more than 35 Minutes. Thanks to to instructional Video!
I am Very impressed with the Company, Service and most of all the Hitch and Light Connector. Thank You so very much eTrailer for everything

by:

Screw holes didn't line up to the holes in the hitch , but I put one screw in and left it turned away from the hitch slightly and I can live with it.

by:

Top quality trailer connector that fir original wiring harness perfectly.

Works great and looks great. Get compliments on the hitch.

by:

The trailer hitch plus 7-4 Pole trailer connector all fit perfect on my 2018 Grand Cherokee. Installed it myself with the help of a couple of jack stands to support the hitch while I bolted it in. Saved a bundle over having the dealership install the Jeep brand. The hitch is barely noticeable. The only issue with a jeep is they do not activate the connector plug so I had to have the dealer activate it after I installed it.

by:

This wiring connector was a perfect fit for my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Easy to install, hooked right up to the pigtail that was already on my Jeep. Simple install.

by:

nice looking product, haven't plugged into it yet to know of the electrical part, caution about the install, make sure you have about 5" clear directly behind the install location of your bracket to allow room for the connector and to attach your vehicle plug, see photo, I had wanted to mount this on the bottom of my bumper, but not enough clearance

A no-drill mounting bracket like # C57202 is a great way to give clearance needed to mount the wiring connector higher up on the hitch.

by:

Great product at a great price. It was an exact fit and looks great. I like having the ability to plug in my 7-prong plug on my travel trailer or the 4-pin plug on my boat, without needing an adaptor. Got super fast shipping too. Buying from etrailer.com was a win- win-win.

Scratched my head for a while, trying to find a quality way to connect this vehicle end 4/7 wire socket to my trailer ready (almost) 2015 Audi Q7. Finally decided that it really didn’t need to be bolted, but could be hose clamped to the existing heavy duty Audi bracket.

Mounted it sideways with a 1” diameter and a 3” diameter hose clamp. Be sure to use a 3” clamp with lots of serrations that all it to tighten it down a lot.

You’ll need to drill out the small hole of the supplied bracket to allow a clamp to fit through it. The other hole is a slot, and works unaltered. Small clamp on bottom, large clamp on top.

You’ll also need to relieve a small spot on the trim piece to make room for the 4-wire door to o-en freely. This is marked as red on one of the pictures.

Looks good and should work good!

Good installation approach for q7’s. Keeps water from collecting in wiring junctions.

by:

It came with it's own bracket, which is a plus. It was compatible with etrailer.com's part number C56357, which is also a plus. The self tapping screws being the only hardware coming with the item was a disappointment. I just installed etrailer.com's part number 76301 hitch receiver which has a mounting plate for brackets like this. The self tapping screws, which might have been effective, wouldn't have looked "professional." After finding some hardware which worked, it went on smoothly and fits well with the rest of the assembly.

Here's some snaps of my Hopkins #40975 installation. I can confirm that it's an identical replacement for the 2014 Silverado 1500 trailer-light blank insert, no bracket required. It took me 30 seconds to plug the Silverado's OEM 7-pin round connector (located inside the blank insert) into the #40975 Wiring Kit and snap it into the cutout. Then I tested the flat 4-pin outlet of the #40975 with a 5 dollar 4-pin LED tester from West Marine, and all light functions tested good. Shweet! To remove the OEM blank plug, it helps to reach behind it and pinch the two spring clips holding it in place... same with the #40975 if it needs to be removed for some reason. When I ordered the part from eTrailer, your site had a comment, "This will not fit your vehicle. See below for compatible parts," or words to that effect. Maybe take a look at that and remove the comment, as the #40975 is an exact fit for 2014 Silverado 1500, no bracket needed. Thanks, eTrailer team!

Although I havent towed since installing the Hopkins Pollak wiring kit since I installed it a year ago, I have tested the 4-pin connector for proper function using a 4-pin LED tester from West Marine and it checks out okay. Recently I inspected the kit for water intrusion mentioned by one of the raters, and I found no evidence of moisture inside the dual-connector compartment. On installation, I did make liberal use of the dielectric grease that accompanies the kit. Good product, easy installation, and great price.

Fast delivery. Excellent customer service! The connector fit and installed flawlessly. This was my second time purchasing from e-trailer and will definitely do it again.

by:

Snapped right in to the rear bumper of my Chevrolet. This company has my business for any trailer related products!

by:

This is a great option, it was plug and play and plugged into my Bronco's trailer ready plug. I did have to trim one corner of the bracket to fit with my trailer hitch, but that was no problem, a dremel did the trick and my mod looks professional.

by:

2003 Sierra 2500 HD.

Super easy install.
Purchased when I installed a new bumper and Curt hitch. Connected directly to Factory harness - no fuss. Ran the self tappers into the support bracket of the Bumper. Helps to drill a pilot hole if the material being mounted to is thicker than 14-16 gauge.

This plug is exactly what I needed. I put a 7 pin on my '85 Bronco and this worked perfectly. Easy to secure in place, and I love that it comes with both a 4 pin and 7 pin connector. The spring loaded covers also help to lock the plugs in place. Great product.
