Question:

7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket w/ Mounting Bracket - Vehicle End Item # HM40975 Hopkins logo My truck only has the 4 flat trailer connector. Is there another adapter or harness I will need for this to work properly on my truck?

I have a couple ways you can install the 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket # HM40975 on your 2020 Ford F-150 with a 4-way flat factory connector. The first is going to be the easiest but is more costly. You will use the harness from the Curt 7-Way # C56413 and connect to the connector you found. The Curt harness will connect to the factory wiring as seen in the installation video I have linked near the bottom of the page.

Otherwise we do have the Hard Wire Connector # 20147 which is going to be more price conscious but will require you to splice into the factory wiring. With the Curt option above being a plug and play that really is the best option.

Do note you may need to add some fuses as often times they do not include all the fuses if the functions are not being used.

If you need a brake controller the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 is a great option. It is also plug and play with the Harness # 22292.
