Hopkins Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring - Trailer Hitch Wiring - HM40975 Review

Today we're going to take a look at these seven way and four way trailer connector socket with mounting bracket. Now this seven way and four way trailer connector eliminate the need for an adapter, allows you to tow a trailer if you need a seven way connection or a four way connection. The socket back here will connect to your vehicle's OEM wiring harness and it mounts with this included metal bracket. It's made of a high impact ABS plastic construction, on the cover as you can see they use a stainless steel spring for easy cover operation. You can see as you open it up and let it go it springs right back in place and they do use rubber gaskets. There's one there and on the four way there's one right there.

This will help provide a nice weather resistant design, keep any of the elements from getting to your connection. Now it does include this mounting bracket for an easy snap in socket installation. The mounting bracket is a black epoxy coated steel construction and it mounts to the bumper with the two included mounting screws. But again, it's a snap in. You can see, you just push it in. It snaps in it's place, holds the right there securely and the bracket is just mounted to your bumper to hold it into place.

Then to remove it, just push in on the two metal brackets right here and it'll allow you to pop it right out. So it's very simple.Application for this, there we're places factory seven way connectors on Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Nissan trucks and SUV's. It is an exact replacement for Chrysler and Dodge vehicles with seven way sockets from the factory and it can also be used to add a connector to 2003 and newer GM truck or SUV.A few dimensions on this, on the bracket, the length of the bracket is right at four and three quarter inches. Total height on it is right at three and one 16th inches tall. Total depth on it, it's going to be right at one and three quarter inches deep.

And you can see it has the mounting holes. There's a regular whole and there's an elongated hole. The distance between the mounting holes, center to center is two and three eighths inches. But as I mentioned, this one's elongated, so it could be adjusted. But that should do it for the review on the seven way and four way trailer connector socket with mounting bracket..
