Well built worked fine

by:

Good product at a good price. Will be used with a Reese Strait-Line hitch on a 2006 Suburban 2500 pulling an 11,500 lb GVWR travel trailer.

by:

Nice product, unfortunatley not designed to work with the Round Bar Head we purchased.

by:

good quality and appreciate the recessed design -- as it helps to reduce total weight of the hitch assembly.

by:

Awesome followup and follow through with emails from everyone that touched my order. Delivered quickly and without any problems.

by:

No issues at all. Has been a great drop bar for my weight distribution hitch!

by:

Works with Triunion but adjustment bolts do not make contact to shaft. Is there another option (longer bolts) that will work?

Hey Charles. I looked at several replacement head hardware and they all seemed to be 5" long. Like part # PS024202. I'm unsure how long yours are but from what I could see, all the ones we carry are 5" or close to it.

by:

The quality of the part is good and it works as intended. E-trailer's shipping was very quick. We received the part in 3 days with standard shipping. I was very impressed with the quality of the packaging. This heavy item was secured tightly inside the cardboard box so it couldn't move around and potentially damage the box from the inside while in transit. I wish more online retailers would pay as much attention to packaging product.

Product is performing well

by:

Love the product, wish however that there was another cross hole for the receiver; it protrudes too much and worries me about leverage even with a weight distributing hitch.

Love the product after this past year. Ive seen others state they wish there was another cross hole. That was a concern of mine, however theres not enough room due to a spare on my vehicle, and theres been no problems with the unit and its extension from the vehicle.

by:

Exactly what I needed for my trailer. Fast shipping. Another great experience with trailer!

Still working great!

by:

The items are great. A sturdier box or packaging would definitely help in not loading any items. My two items were inside but does look like the receiver shank came out through opening on side of box

by:

This worked well with my sway bar installation, although it is limited to fifteen hundred pounds tongue weight and I would have preferred 1700 pounds to match the tongue weight capacity of our truck.

by:

An excellent, heavy duty piece of equipment, my second one!!!

by:

by:

worked well with my 8000lb Toy Hauler. Was able to adjust hitch height to the right level

by:

by:

Good job on order the product and fast shipping even on Sunday got it on Tuesday

by:

great have no problem pulling my 32ft travel trailer or my car trailer.

by:

Product is fine. Your packing need A LOT OF IMPROVEMENT!!!
box was busted to hell and back with a 30lbs piece of metal just clanked around in an oversized box with 2 small sheets of packing paper.

by:

Fast shipping, will work perfectly for towing camper.

by:

Puts the WD Hitch at the correct height.

by:

It is what I needed, have a 1200lb. on my camp trailer

  • Recommended Weight Distribution System for 1,175 lb Dry Tongue Weight Trailer
With your tongue weight at 1,175 lbs when loaded, you also need to account for any cargo weight behind the rear axle as well to get the total tongue weight rating. I've attached an article to assist. You are correct that your current system is underrated for your application. My recommendation is the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control # EQ37140ET rated for total tongue weights between 1,000 and 1,400 lbs. You want your total tongue weight to fall in the...

  • Compatibility of Resse Shank 54970 With Trunnion Bars 54946 and Hitch Head With Patent 5375867
I was able to find a document with Reese which shows the Head # RP58167 having the PAT Pending NO. 5375867. This is compatible with the Shank # RP54970 you found. As for the trunnion bars, the part 54946 relates to the end of the trunnion bar that would mount inside the hitch but for 1,500lb bars. Since you mentioned 12,000lbs that would use the Trunnion Spring Bar # RP66009

  • Recommended Weight Distribution System and Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Tug Boat Trailer
I did some research and your F-150 with the combination you have is the 11,600 lbs if you have the max towing package. If you do not it drops to 10,600 lbs. The upgrades you have done to your truck are really nice so I can see why you don't want to change vehicles. What I recommend is keeping your current hitch, upgrading your weight distribution system to the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control - Trunnion - 14K GTW, 1.4K TW # RP66561 because it will work well...

  • How to Determine the Correct Weight Distribution System
I'll start with your last question concerning the trailer brakes - they will not stop your truck. As for a weight distribution system it is important that you have the correctly rated system; I don't what you have but I can tell you how to figure out what you SHOULD have. In order to choose the right weight distribution system you will first need to know your total tongue weight (TTW), which is the tongue weight of your fully loaded and ready to go trailer plus the weight of any cargo...

  • Maximum Towing Capacity of 2004 GMC Sierra 2500HD SLE 4x4 Crew Cab 6 Foot Bed
Because trucks can be equipped in a multitude of ways, it's not always easy to pin down the actual towing capacity. However, there is one sure-fire way to find the max towing capacity of your vehicle. Look for the vehicle ID sticker in the door jamb for the driver's door. Look for the GCWR, which is the gross combined weight rating. This weight represents the maximum combined weight of the truck and trailer. From that figure, subtract the GVW, the gross vehicle weight. The GVW represents...

  • Recommended Weight Distribution System With Sway Control For 2017 Coleman FQ Trailer
In looking up your 2017 Coleman FQ online, it appears that your trailer has a dry weight of 3205 and a dry hitch tongue weight of 453. Based on it's length and weight, I think you are wise to consider a weight distribution system with sway control as I believe sway will be an issue and the weight distribution anti-sway systems are far better than the friction bars. With a lightweight trailer with a 21 foot 5 inch length preventing sway is just as important as correcting sway. With a weight...

This weight distribution hitch will require a separate 2-1/2 inch shank like the Reese Titan Weight Dist Shank # RP54976 or # RP54977 for a deeper drop. • Should Weight Distribution Hitch Be Used With 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie Towing Forest River Vibe 28RB
According to the 2019 Ram 1500 towing chart, a weight distribution hitch is recommended for trailers over 5,000 lbs. Based on that information, I would say you should use a WDH and not just a regular ball mount. I'm not entirely sure which trailer you have without the year, and I was unable to find the 28RK so I will use the 28RL. The 28RL has a an unloaded weight of 7,096 lbs with a dry tongue weight of 821 lbs. The GVWR is 9,621 lbs so you're looking at roughly 1,100 lbs of tongue weight....

  • Weight Distribution and Sway Controller Recommendation for a 2005 GMC Yukon XL Denali
Based on the excellent information you have given me, I estimate about 8,500 to 9,000 pounds total. What I want to focus on is all of the weight that will be behind the rear axle of the 2005 GMC Yukon Denali. So we can subtract 230 pounds for you, a 120 pound wife, 260 pounds of kids and dogs. The gear, water, gas I assume will be in the cargo area of the Yukon or on the trailer so that is still factored in. That puts the total behind the rear axle at about 8,000 pounds. Trailer tongue...

  • Can an F-150 Tow a Travel Trailer that Weighs 6,900 lbs
There are many factors that affect towing capacities of vehicles. Nearly every component in the power-train and suspension is a factor for the overall towing capacity. The distance between the axles will make a difference also. The longer the wheelbase the less the front suspension of the vehicle will unload when there is weight on the rear of the vehicle. With that being said, the easiest way to determine if your vehicles are capable of towing your 6,900 lb travel trailer would be to...

Ideally you want your actual tongue weight to fall in the middle of the tongue weight range of the weight distribution hitch. Since your dry tongue weight is 1,180 lbs the # RP66084 isn't rated high enough. You will be over the 1,200 lb max once you add propane and batteries. Having a weight distribution hitch that provides 2 point sway control is going to really only be effective in reducing sway once it's started, which is why you're experiencing the sway even with it attached. • Does Truck Payload Count as Tongue Weight on Trailer Hitch
This is a really good question, but the short answer is you are fine and not above the capacity. So payload is not the same as tongue weight capacity so you don't have to take one and add it to the other, and also with weight distribution you have to factor the weight behind the rear axle of the truck as tongue weight when picking out a system, but that extra weight does not really factor against the tongue weight capacity of the hitch.
